In the fields of image processing, feature detection, the edge detection is an important aspect. For detection of sharp changes in the properties of an image, edges are recognized as important factors which provides more information or data regarding the analysis of an image. In this work coding of various edge detection algorithms such as Sobel, Canny, etc. have been done on the MATLAB software, also this work is implemented on the FPGA Nexys 4 DDR board. The results are then displayed on a VGA screen. The implementation of this work using Verilog language of FPGA has been executed on Vivado 18.2 software tool.

The paper presents a method for estimating the efficiency of the manual nesting process. By using the graphic file generated during the nesting process and using image processing techniques, the method allows the user to calculate the percentage of material used for manufacturing the parts. The method combines a manual approach - the user has to select some specific points on the graphic file with the mouse, with some image processing algorithms form Matlab software package.

The progressive implementation of software functions in Integrated Circuits (ICs) has considerably increased the number of transistors and pin connections of ICs. For that reason, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) are fabricated with the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) nowadays and IC mounting on PCB is a crucial process that requires high precision. An Automatic Mechanical Montage (AMM) system is used to mount ICs on the sockets using a couple of reference points for every IC in order to find the correct positions for mounting the IC. Due to some factors in the process of PCB development, there are differences between designed and manufactured PCBs, which could generate delays in their production. In this work, a software tool which allows to work with digital images of PCBs is described. This tool finds the differences generated in PCB development, especially the differences in IC reference points using Digital Image Processing (DIP) techniques.

In the current era of Medical Science, Image Processing is the most evolving and inspiring technique. This technique consolidates some noise removal functions, segmentation, and morphological activities which are the fundamental ideas of image processing. Initially preprocessing of an MRI image is done to ensure the image quality for further processing/output. Our paper portrays the methodology to extricate and diagnose the brain tumor with the help of an affected person’s MRI scan pictures of the brain. MRI pictures are taken into account to recognize and extricate the tumor from the brain with the aid of MATLAB software.

In this article, we used image processing by a webcam connected on top of the arm robot. The robot navigation is in an unknown environment. Then start point and target point were determined for the robot, so the robot needs to have a program for path planning using Voronoi diagrams to find the path. After the possible path for moving the robot was found, the route information obtained was sent to the arm robot. The arm robot moves in the workspace and any time new information was processed via the webcam. The program was written using MATLAB software which at controls the robot’s movement the unknown environment.
