Purpose The implementation of strategic questioning within the clinical teaching context has recently gained appeal among clinical educators as a method for stimulating critical thinking and other higher order thinking skills. This article will (a) address evidence for the use of strategic questioning approaches in the clinical teaching environment, (b) examine some of the complexities associated with effectively selecting and implementing questioning types, and (c) discuss the potential significance that supervisory training and self-assessment may have on effective application of strategic questioning. Conclusion Strategic questioning can be a highly valuable teaching methodology within the clinical teaching context. Current available external evidence, albeit limited, provides some insight into the complexities involved with effectively implementing strategic questioning methods. Further research is needed to explore the efficacy and feasibility of specific strategic questioning approaches within the scope of communication sciences and disorders.

Common Assessment Framework (CAF), a European Total Quality Management (TQM) methodology, has been applied by municipalities across Bosnia and Herzegovina for a number of years. Municipalities have used CAF as a self-assessment tool to identify and meet their own development needs and improve organizational performance. Along with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Business Friendly Certificate (BFC) standards, CAF has been promoted by domestic non-governmental and international organizations as a TQM tool for public sector. This article provides an insight into experience of municipalities in BiH with implementation of CAF by focusing on their thematic priorities, organizational efficiency, output, outcome and citizens’ satisfaction.

Quality assurance has gained momentum in the education sector also after its recognition in the industry. Quality has become a part of service providers like healthcare and education. The field of education has undergone tremendous change since the word quality penetrated into it. Choosing a higher education institution puts in many criteria of which quality assurance and accreditation also has a vital role. The process of accreditation differs from one country to another. The process depends on the outcomes expected by the accrediting agency along with the guidelines of the government regulatory body. Self-assessment report is a self-evaluation made by an institution which is prepared in a report form and submitted to accrediting agency. An expert team evaluates the application for awarding accreditation to a HEI. The role of self-assessment report is to understand the strength and weakness of the HEI.

SummaryTo develop a procedure for accrediting health informatics programs.Development of a procedure for accreditation. Test of the accreditation procedure via a trial including four or five health informatics programs. A site visit committee consisting of three members evaluates the program based on a self-assessment report written by the program and the experiences and observations of the site visit committee during the site visit.A procedure for accreditation has been developed. The instructions for health informatics programs have been written and a checklist for the site visit committee members is available. In total six subjects are considered, each one consisting of one or more facets. Each facet is judged using its corresponding criterion. Five health informatics programs volunteered. One health informatics program in Finland has already been visited and a report has been produced by the site visit committee. The next site visits are in June and July 2012. The site visit in Finland showed that English summaries of master theses are not enough to get a first impression of the methods used in the thesis. A table of contents is also needed. This information then can be used to select theses written in a language other than English for discussion.The accreditation procedure document with instructions about writing the self-assessment report was very well structured and the instructions were clear according to the Finnish program. The site visit team could work well with the checklist. Self-assessment report model was very well structured and the instructions were clear.

AbstractWhereas new pharmacological treatments are developed for cognitive impairments in schizophrenia, self-assessment of cognitive dysfunctioning besides their objective validity could be of interest in evaluating patients' motivation to engage in rehabilitation program. Nevertheless insight into symptoms is severely impaired in schizophrenia and is negatively linked with poor compliance. But it is yet unknown if patients with poor insight into their symptoms could have some insight into their cognitive impairments. The aim of this study was to explore the relationships existing between the cognitive complaint and the level of awareness of the disease in patients with schizophrenia. A total of 101 patients with DSM-IV schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder and 60 control participants were recruited. Insight was assessed using the Scale to assess Unawareness of Mental Disorder (SUMD) and cognitive complaint intensity was assessed with the Scale to Investigate Cognition in Schizophrenia (SSTICS). Participants with schizophrenia displayed the same level of cognitive complaint when compared to healthy controls. Strong correlations were observed between SSTICS total score and duration of illness, levels of depression and state anxiety. Patients with a good insight into the therapeutic effects achieved with medication expressed a more important cognitive complaint. No correlations were found between the four others SUMD insight dimensions and total SSTICS score. The partial overlap of insight into illness and cognitive complaint suggests that insight is modular in schizophrenia. Assessment of cognitive complaint and awareness of illness need to be assessed before engagement in rehabilitation program.

To be a teacher in the times of today is a great challenge. In order to respond to the needs of modern society, lifelong learning and mastery of numerous competences are expected of the teacher in various fields of work, wherein cooperation with parents is one of the extremely important areas. The goal of the research was to gain insight into self-assessment of competence of students at the Faculty of Teachers Education for future cooperation with parents. The research was implemented during October, 2020, on the sample of 416 students in their first, third and fifth year at the Faculty of Teacher Education of the University of Zagreb (Croatia). It is a futurological research for whose needs a questionnaire was designed with 26 manifest variables on an ordinal, five-degree Likert-type scale. From the manifest set of variables of competence for future cooperation with parents, three composite variables were formed: general cooperation competence, competence for cooperation directed to teaching efficacy, and competence for cooperation directed to communication with parents. The results show that the total student self-assessment of competences for future cooperation with parents is relatively positive, and the existence of statistically significant differences in all three composite variables. Faculties educating future teachers should introduce obligatory courses which would sensitise and capacitate them for future cooperation with parents.

Aim. The aim of this study is to define teacher competencies and some specific differences in self-assessment with regard to the completion of studies according to the new or the old curriculum. Efforts were also made to gain insight into the specific deficiencies of the competencies related to the integrated education and training of children with developmental disabilities. Methodology. The research was conducted on a sample of 212 regular primary school teachers who dealt with children with disabilities in their work. A questionnaire constructed for the purposes of this research was used. Previously, a pilot study was conducted. Participants were divided into two groups. One group of teachers who were educated according to the old program and teachers who were educated according to the new program in the broad context of working with children with disabilities. Results. The obtained results indicate differences between the observed groups and the need for continuous (self) assessments of teachers’ responsibilities to enable students with disabilities to learn and thrive in line with their abilities as well as to find alternative ways to meet their different needs in a wider sense. Also, teachers are aware of the need for continuous training in this area. These findings have contributions in the scientific and practical sense.
