With the expansion of smartphone and financial technologies (FinTech), mobile money emerged to improve financial inclusion in many developing nations. The majority of the mobile money schemes used in these nations implement two-factor authentication (2FA) as the only means of verifying mobile money users. These 2FA schemes are vulnerable to numerous security attacks because they only use a personal identification number (PIN) and subscriber identity module (SIM). This study aims to develop a secure and efficient multi-factor authentication algorithm for mobile money applications. It uses a novel approach combining PIN, a one-time password (OTP), and a biometric fingerprint to enforce extra security during mobile money authentication. It also uses a biometric fingerprint and quick response (QR) code to confirm mobile money withdrawal. The security of the PIN and OTP is enforced by using secure hashing algorithm-256 (SHA-256), a biometric fingerprint by Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) that uses a standard public key cryptography technique (RSA), and Fernet encryption to secure a QR code and the records in the databases. The evolutionary prototyping model was adopted when developing the native mobile money application prototypes to prove that the algorithm is feasible and provides a higher degree of security. The developed applications were tested, and a detailed security analysis was conducted. The results show that the proposed algorithm is secure, efficient, and highly effective against the various threat models. It also offers secure and efficient authentication and ensures data confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, user anonymity, and privacy. The performance analysis indicates that it achieves better overall performance compared with the existing mobile money systems.

The payment process using electronic money is a non-cash payment method based on E-Wallet aimed at facilitating users in transact. The transaction process at the coffee shop XYZ is still done conventionally and takes a long time, causing long queues. The research carried out aims to speed up the transaction process at XYZ coffee shops. The method used in this research is prototype. An alternative solution to the transaction process is to utilize the E-Wallet and QR-Code through the customer's smartphone. This study utilizes Go-Pay E-Wallet access as a means of payment through the Midtrans Payment Gateway and uses the One Time Password code as a login method on the system. Qr-code scanning to place orders can be done quickly which is around 3,551 milliseconds. Quessioner results distributed to 20 customers showed the following data, around 90% agreed on the use of e-wallet as an alternative payment, around 87% agreed on the statement of the use of e-wallet was able to reduce the slow transaction process, about 79% agreed to the statement that this system facilitates the transaction process, as well as 79% level of approval of the use of an authentication code through a mobile number that makes it easy to enter the application. The results showed that the system built can speed up the transaction process.

Seeing the high demand for internet, this research will design an implementation of bandwidth management using a user manager, which will be applied to the billing system in public places with internet services. This aims to regulate the bandwidth or internet bandwidth that will be used by each customer in accordance with the total payment. This implementation utilizes a QR Code which will be used as authentication. This QR Code will be printed on the customer's payment receipt / receipt and will be scanned through the application installed on the android mobile phone. The application will be connected to a server which will later connect the customer's smartphone to connect to the internet service. After making the application, it is tested to check the accuracy of the bandwidth received by the customer. From the bandwidth accuracy testing, the results show that the delivery of bandwidth to the customer has an error with an average error in the download bandwidth of 6.5% and the upload bandwidth of 17%. The occurrence of this error is due to the ping and jitter values ??during data transmission, with an average ping of 78.7 ms and a jitter of 82.7 ms. Whereas in reading the QR Code, it was found that when using a camera with a 5MP resolution the QR Code can be read up to a distance of 90 cm and when using a camera with a resolution of 20.7MP, the QR Code can be read up to a distance of 110 cm.

Security has become major issue in all online services. Strong authentication is provided conveniently using mobile phone as security token. While sending security token to user mobile via GSM network, it is vulnerable to several attacks. We can avoid them using Steganography which enforces the security of hashing algorithms. We can share tokens securely with steganography and authentication to prevent participants from the intentional provision of a false stego-image. However, an illegitimate person can easily manipulate the stego-image for successful authentication but cannot recover the secret image. We propose a new authentication method called Σ-hash, which combines an efficient steganographic algorithm and hashing. This paper tells how ΣHash can be used for securing OTP(One Time Password) from tampering attacks and other applications.

In order to promote the application of two dimensional barcode on mobile phone, this paper uses the popular Android technology, and researches QR code format and the decode process of the QR code; and then designs 2D bar code recognition system based on the decode library Zxing. After testing, it is proved that the system has good generality and low resource consuming, and the software of itself is only 140 K.

One thing can be said to be common to all forms of debit card fraud – authentication bypass. This implies that a secure debit card transaction system can only be guaranteed by a safe and reliable authentication system. Many approaches have been adopted to ensure a secure authentication system, but often, these approaches are either focused on the Automated Teller Machines (ATM)/Point of Sales (POS) terminals or Online/e-commerce transactions, thus not providing full security on both fronts. In this work, we address this problem by adopting a multi-factor debit card system that uses a combination of the traditional Personal Identification Number code (PIN) and the mobile-phone delivered One-Time Password (OTP) with a biometric authentication option (fingerprint). We demonstrate that this approach ensures the security of both online and terminal transactions. The fingerprint option makes it easy to use by people who find memorizing PINs difficult.
