This research presents the results of applying the theory of competence framework to evaluate the current competence of middle management in enterprises, in the case study of DOJI Gemstone Jewelry Group (DOJI Group). By using in-depth interviews and survey through questionnaires, the research results show that the middle management level at DOJI Group has satisfied relatively well the most competencies of the professional competence group, executive management competence as well as personal development competence. However, some of the competencies that need to be further improved include time management, training and leadership competence, innovation and learning competence. The solutions given are for reference by DOJI Group and other private enterprises in Vietnam in the assessment and development of middle management level.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketidakpastian lingkungan terhadap karakteristik sistem informasi akuntansi manajemen dan untuk mengetahui moderasi locus ofcontrol terhadap hubungan antara ketidakpastian lingkungan dan karakteristik sisteminformasi akuntansi manajemen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei denganmenyebarkan kuesioner secara langsung kepada sampel. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalahtop management level dan middle management level pada perusahaan ritel modern di kotaJambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik penarikan sampel purposive sampling. Jumlahsampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 57 responden, yang terdiri dari manajer cabang,manajer divisi, area supervisor, back office supervisor, dan kepala toko. Teknik analisis datamenggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana dan analisis regresi dengan variabel moderasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) ketidakpastian lingkungan berpengaruh terhadapkarakteristik sistem informasi akuntansi manajemen (2) locus of control tidak dapatmemoderasi hubungan antara ketidakpastian lingkungan dan karakteristik sistem informasiakuntansi manajemen.

This research aim to to know how relation make an audit of performance with Control of intern; how influence make an audit of internal control and performance either through parsial and also by simultan to governance corporate good; and how influence make an audit of performance, internal control and of good governance corporate either through parsial and also by simultan to performance of PDAM Town of Gorontalo. Sampel selected pursuant to sampling purposive counted 20 responder people at middle management level of to to the. Data collecting methode the used is observation, and interview of kuesioner. Data analysed with model estimate equation of simultan. Result of research indicate that there are positive relation and signifikan make an audit of performance with internal control, there are positive influence and signifikan make an audit of internal control and performance either through parsial and also by simultan to good governance corporate, there are positive influence and do not signifikan make an audit of performance to performance of PDAM Town of Gorontalo and internal control have an effect on and negativity of signifkan to PDAM Town of Gorontalo, but good governance corporate have an effect on positive to performance of PDAM Town of Gorontalo.

Purpose Although middle managers play important roles in forming strategies and generating innovation, few studies have explored the influence of management control systems (MCS) on employees’ behaviors or performance at the middle-management level. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect an interactive use of MCS has on individual performance at the unit level. Design/methodology/approach A longitudinal, multisource and multilevel survey was conducted among 373 nurses in 20 units at a Japanese public hospital. Findings The multi-level analyzes indicate that middle managers’ interactive use of MCS has a direct and indirect positive influence on individual performance, through proactive behavior, as well as through psychological empowerment and, subsequently, through proactive behavior. Research limitations/implications As the present study collected data from nurses at a Japanese hospital, it is necessary to conduct research in other countries using different occupations to verify the findings. Practical implications Organizations need to be aware that the interactive use of MCS can be an effective tool for empowering and motivating employees. Originality/value The present study contributes to the literature by clarifying the mechanisms of how the interactive use of MCS influences employees’ psychological and behavioral outcomes at the middle-management level.

This paper is concerned with entrepreneurship in the large and complex corporation: it argues that this should be seen as a management process in the formulation of strategic decisions and in the creation of organizational structure through which decisions are made effective. The entrepreneurial function is seen as being diffused throughout the large organization, so that there is an entrepreneurial aspect to the task of managers: this has significant implications for the practical development of managers and organizational design. In this position paper, the authors bring together ideas from several years' work in which they have explored, theoretically and empirically, the nature of entrepreneurship in large businesses.

Competencies gap is now becoming a common problem in Indonesia. Research done by the World Bank in 2019 shows that one of the reasons for the competencies gap is limited opportunities for on-the-job training, only 5% of the workforce reported receiving formal training. One of the companies in Indonesia that experiences a problem of competencies gap is PT Frolant. PT Frolant is a manufacturer of instant food and drinks in Indonesia. The problem of competencies gap is shown from the low internal readiness of the company, employees don’t have the competencies required by the company, especially competencies for higher positions of Supervisor and Manager. The proposed solution to solve the competencies gap problem in PT Frolant is by designing new training programs. The process of designing a new training program included conducting training need analysis, design training based on competency, and using the Kirkpatrick Model to evaluate the training program. The research findings show that the company needs to do several improvements in order to create a training program that can solve the problem of the competencies gap. Those including aligning competency standards with organizational goals and organizational design; use several tools to be better in identifying employees with competency gap; differentiate between soft skill and hard skill or between strategic knowledge and operational knowledge in designing training; and perform all four steps of Kirkpatrick Model in evaluating training. Designing training programs based on competencies aims to help PT Frolant improving employee performance that will further improve company performance.

This study aims to determine how the organizational culture at the level of middle management and under management  PT XYZ Medan, North Sumatra. This research uses quantitative methods with the type of survey research. The sample in this study were 39 people from the middle management level and 114 people from the lower management level. The author collected data using the Denison Organizational Survey (DOCS) questionnaire). DOCS comes from the Denison Model which emphasizes the four cultural dimensions in organizations that must be mastered so that organizations can run effectively. The results of the study identified that PT XYZ has a weak organizational culture due to the four dimensions of the Denison Model namely adaptability, consistency, involvement, and mission indicating an imbalance. The involvement dimension has the highest value while the adaptability dimension has the lowest value. Perceptions of organizational culture at the middle management level are better than those at the lower management level. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana budaya organisasi pada level manajemen menengah dan manajemen bawah PT XYZ Medan Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian survey. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 39 orang  dari level manajemen menengah dan sebanyak 114 orang dari level manajemen bawah. Penulis mengumpulkan data menggunakan kuesioner The Denison Organizational Survey (DOCS) ). DOCS  berasal dari Model Denison yang menekankan pada empat dimensi budaya dalam organisasi yang harus dikuasai agar organisasi dapat berjalan secara efektif. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasikan bahwa PT XYZ memiliki budaya organisasi yang lemah dikarenakan keempat dimensi Model Denison yaitu adaptability, consistency, involvement, dan mission menunjukkan  adanya ketidakseimbangan. Dimensi involvement memiliki nilai paling tinggi sedangkan dimensi adaptability dengan nilai paling rendah. Persepsi mengenai budaya organisasi pada level manajemen menengah lebih baik dibandingkan dengan level manajemen bawah.
