Study on chalcone calkon (E)-1,3-di(naphthalen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one synthesis have been carried out with stirrer methode. These compounds can be used as intermediate compound to synthesize others compounds which was reported having antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant, anti-tumour. The of chalcones synthesis vatives were reported in acid and alkali condition. In this study, chalcone and its derivates were synthesized by using stirrer method in alkaline condition in room temperature. the compounds subjected to somes analyses including melting point measurement, thin layer chromatography and HPLC. Scavenging free radical by using DPPH methode showed Scavenging free radical with LC50 >80 μg/ml min potent activity while the ascorbat acid LC50 89,79 μg/ml.

Abstract We describe a rapid polarization fluoroimmunoassay for screening for the presence of barbiturates in urine. The single reagent is prepared by pre-mixing antiserum with a fluorescein-labeled barbiturate derivative as tracer. Use of a mixture of two sheep antisera, raised against different barbiturate immunogens, results in an assay with a broad cross-reactivity spectrum for most common barbiturates. One adds urine to the pre-mixed reagent, incubates the solution for a few minutes at room temperature, and measures the fluorescence polarization. The tracer/antiserum reagent is stable for at least six months at 4 degrees C. Results compare favorably with two other commonly used screening techniques for barbiturates, thin-layer chromatography and the EMIT-stTM (Syva) system. Although designed as a qualitative screen, some drugs can be quantified by means of a standard curve of the relevant barbiturate.

Abstract Stability of 8 trichothecenes stored in methanol at room temperature was studied by thin layer chromatography. Results indicate that the trichothecenes which bear an acetoxy group at both C3 and C4 are very susceptible to methanolysis. In the early stage, the acetoxy group at C3 is most favorable for the transesterification. All trichothecenes tested were transformed to several products after prolonged (22 days) exposure to methanol.

Whole rye or wheat grains were extracted with acetone at room temperature. The extracts were pooled and acetone was evaporated. The remaining acetone oil was washed out with n-pentane until a colourless filtrate was obtained. The residue was dried, then dissolved in chloroform-acetone (95:5) mixture and separated by column chromatography on silica gel. The fractions containing 5-n-alkylresorcinols were pooled, condensed and crystallised from n-hexane. The preparation obtained was homogeneous in thin-layer chromatography and gave the UV spectrum characteristic for 5-n-alkyl derivatives of resorcinol.

Electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical studies are presented for nine copper corroles with electron-withdrawing or electron-donating substituents on the three meso-phenyl rings of the compounds or on the eight β-pyrrole positions of the macrocycle. Up to three reversible oxidations can be seen for each Cu (III) corrole in CH 2 Cl 2 containing 0.1 M TBAP. Unlike the case of ( OEC ) Cu , no dimer is electrochemically detected upon the first oxidation of these compounds at room temperature. However, a dimer forms at low temperature (< -50°C) for compounds having strong electron-donating groups. Two reductions are observed for all nine corroles at low temperature in CH 2 Cl 2, 0.1 M TBAP, but only one reduction is detected at room temperature for four of these compounds which have weak electron-withdrawing or electron-donating groups. The neutral, reduced or oxidized Cu corroles were also characterized by thin-layer UV-visible spectroelectrochemistry and ESR. The resulting data indicates that eight of the nine neutral complexes contain a Cu (III) center while only one complex, [ Br 8( C 6 F 5)3 Cor ] Cu , exists in its Cu (II) form in CH 2 Cl 2 containing 0.2 M TBAP.

This study investigates the enhancement of room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) for anthracene when the compound is adsorbed on cyclodextrin (CD)-treated filter paper. The results show that β-CD treatment induces a significant increase in anthracene RTP emission, which is normally extremely weak. The α-CD does not produce any strong RTP enhancement, while γ-CD produces relatively lower enhancement than does β-CD. The CD treatment procedure is very simple and improves the analytical usefulness of the RTP method. The binding constants of anthracene to cyclodextrin were measured with the use of thin-layer chromatographic retention values. Anthracene has a higher binding constant with β-CD than with γ-CD, in agreement with the RTP enhancement results.

For labelling of the metamorphosis hormone, ecdysone, with tritium, a modified Wilzbach technique has been worked out. Polyhydroxysteroids (Δ1-5α-Pregnendiol-(17α,21)-trion(3,11.20)-21-acetate and 5α-Pregnandiol-(17α,21)-trion(3,11,20)-21-acetate) were used as model substances. The best yields and highest activities were obtained by adsorbing the substances on granulated and activated charcoal, enclosing the absorbates in Nylon bags and exposing them to high doses of tritium at room temperature. The adsorption resulted also in a decrease of radioactive by-products. The tritiated substances were purified by thin-layer chromatography, using a special flow-counter for activity measurements on the chromatoplates. The method described is especially valuable with small amounts (5 - 20 mg). Specific activities up to 250 μC/mg of the pure substances have been obtained.

The atmospheric degradation of high T c superconductors YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ can be prevented using fluorine gas processings around room temperature. A thin layer of amorphous fluorides (and/or oxyfluorides) is formed at the surface of the particles, which passivates the material against hydrolysis and gas-exchange processes. A fluorination mechanism has been proposed, which can account for both fluorine analysis and weight uptake. The superconductivity onset does not seem to be affected by fluorination. Furthermore, an improvement of the shielding effect-Meissner effect cycle to 91% reversibility is achieved when F 2-treated oxides are heated at 350°C under vacuum.

Three types of hydrosol including TiO2hydrosol, ZnO hydrosoland TiO2/ZnO compound hydrosol prepared at room temperature by sol-gel technology were applied to cotton fabric by pad-cure-dry finishing process in order to improve UV-protection property. The SEM image showed that all the three types of sol formed a thin layer film on the cotton fiber. The results of UV-protection property tests showed that with the TiO2sol and TiO2/ZnO compound sol, the cotton fabric have better UV-protection property, but the cotton fabric finished by ZnO sol didnt get little UV protection property. The fastness of UV-protection performance by soaping was also researched in this paper. The test results justified that the soaping process after finishing was a very useful and helpful process to improve the UV-protection property. The cotton fabric finished by ZnO sol after 50 times soaping got better UV-protection property than that without soaping. The UV-protection property of cotton fabric finished by TiO2/ZnO compound sol was also improved dramatically similarly after 50 times soaping. The fabric finished by TiO2sol got best UV-protection property in the three types of fabric without soaping and the UV-protection of it after 30 times soaping raised to peak value but decreased with longer soaping times.
