ABSTRACT Strain Pantoea agglomerans JM1 was isolated from the soil of a microbiome that had been exposed to polluting pharmaceuticals. The bacterium exhibited enzymatic activities useful for the biotransformation of beta-lactams. The genome of the strain was assembled and described, and the gene encoding valacyclovir-like hydrolase was identified.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Bacteroides fragilis strain KZ02, isolated from a patient with peritonitis hospitalized in a health facility in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. The genome of the strain contains 4,103 protein-coding genes, including the cepA gene, which causes resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequence of Ezakiella peruensis strain M6.X2T. The draft genome is 1,672,788 bp long and harbors 1,589 predicted protein-encoding genes, including 26 antibiotic resistance genes with 1 gene encoding vancomycin resistance. The genome also exhibits 1 clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat region and 333 genes acquired by horizontal gene transfer.

We report here the draft genome sequence of Enterococcus faecium strain ICIS 18, which was isolated from human feces. Analysis of the E. faecium ICIS 18 genome revealed genes encoding resistance to metals, fluoroquinolones, and beta-lactam antibiotics.

ABSTRACT Staphylococcus epidermidis is a native member of the human microbiota. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of S. epidermidis UMB8493, an isolate from a catheterized urine sample from a female with overactive bladder symptoms. The 2.54-Mbp draft genome encodes genes associated with beta-lactam and fosfomycin resistance.

ABSTRACT The 4.6-Mbp draft genome sequence of Escherichia coli strain Tj, isolated from the Varzob River in Tajikistan, is presented. This strain possesses four prophage elements related to Shigella phage SfV, E. coli O157:H7-specific phage ϕV10, lambdoid phage HK225, and coliphage Ayreon. It contains a gene encoding a hemolysin E toxin.

Haloferax volcanii SS0101 is a halophilic archaeon isolated from salt farms in Thailand. The genome sequence of H. volcanii SS0101 contains a gene encoding capreomycidine synthase, a key enzyme for capreomycidine biosynthesis. This 3.8-Mb draft genome sequence of H. volcanii SS0101 will provide the tools for investigating genes involved in capeomycidine production in haloarchaea.

ABSTRACT Vibrio harveyi is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with vibriosis in penaeid shrimp. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a V. harveyi strain isolated from Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) during a vibriosis outbreak. The availability of this genome will aid future studies of vibriosis in shrimp aquaculture.
