Pseudomonas sp. In5 is an isolate of disease suppressive soil with potent activity against pathogens. Its antifungal activity has been linked to a gene cluster encoding nonribosomal peptide synthetases producing the peptides nunamycin and nunapeptin. The genome sequence will provide insight into the genetics behind the antimicrobial activity of this strain.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas strain CES was isolated from caffeine-enriched soil and found to possess the N-demethylation pathway for caffeine breakdown. We report the nucleotide sequence of the draft genome with 5,827,822 bp, 62.6% G+C content, and 5,427 protein-coding regions.

We report the draft genome sequence of carbaryl-degrading Pseudomonas sp. strain C5pp. Genes encoding salicylate and gentisate metabolism, large amounts of oxygenase, nitrogen metabolism, and heavy metal tolerance were identified. The sequence will provide further insight into the biochemical and evolutionary aspects of carbaryl degradation.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Pseudomonas sp. strain FEN, a nonfluorescent siderophore producer that was isolated from the Schlöppnerbrunnen fen, which is characterized by high concentrations of Fe, dissolved organic matter (DOM), and Fe-DOM complexes. This draft genome sequence provides insight into the mechanisms of siderophore biosynthesis and siderophore-mediated iron uptake by this bacterium.

Streptomyces sp. strain Z26 exhibited antifungal activity and turned out to be a producer of the secondary metabolites novonestmycin A and B. The 6.5-Mb draft genome gives insight into the complete secondary metabolite production capacity and builds the basis to find and locate the biosynthetic gene cluster encoding the novonestmycins.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas fluorescens DSM 11579 is known to be a producer of the lipopeptides brabantamide and thanamycin. Its draft genome gives insight into the complete secondary metabolite production capacity of the strain and builds the basis for a comparative study with Pseudomonas sp. strain SH-C52, a lipopeptide-producing strain involved in natural disease-suppressive soils.
