ABSTRACT Streptococcus suis, a zoonotic bacterium found primarily in pigs, has been recognized recently as an emerging pathogen of humans. Herein, we describe the genome of Streptococcus suis strain SC19, a hypervirulent and vaccine candidate strain isolated from a pig amid the 2005 outbreak in China.

Here, we report the draft whole-genome sequence of Streptococcus suis strain S10, isolated from the tonsils of a healthy pig. S. suis S10 belongs to the highly virulent serotype 2, which includes isolates that cause infectious diseases, including meningitis, in pigs and human.

ABSTRACT Streptococcus suis is a swine pathogen that causes severe economic damage to the porcine industry. It occasionally evokes zoonotic infection in humans. Here, we report a draft genome sequence of a S. suis serotype 5 strain isolated from a bacteremia patient that was reported by Taniyama et al. (D. Taniyama, M. Sakurai, T. Sakai, T. Kikuchi, and T. Takahashi, IDCases 6:36–38, 2016, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.idcr.2016.09.011 ).

ABSTRACT Mycobacterium abscessus, an intrinsically multidrug-resistant pathogen, causes chronic incurable lung disease. New drugs for this emerging pathogen represent an urgent unmet medical need. Here, we report a draft genome sequence of M. abscessus Bamboo, a clinical isolate used as a screening strain for drug discovery.

Streptococcus suis is primarily a pig pathogen and a zoonotic agent. Recently, the isolation of S. suis strain 10-36905 from a case of meningitis in cattle was reported. The draft genome sequence of this isolate demonstrates its divergent relationship with other S. suis strains.

ABSTRACT Streptococcus suis is an economically important pathogen in the pig industry and is also an emerging zoonotic agent responsible for severe infections in humans. Here, we report the genome sequence of S. suis strain SsRC-1. Specifically, this strain was a serotype 2 and was isolated from a human fatal case of toxic shock syndrome (TSS) in Italy.

Candida auris is an emerging pathogen of considerable public health importance. We present the draft genome sequence of a strain recently cultured from the urine of a patient hospitalized in the greater Houston metropolitan region. Two combined Oxford Nanopore sequencing runs provided sufficient data to rapidly generate a draft genome.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Pseudorhodobacter sp. strain E13, a Gram-negative, aerobic, nonflagellated, and rod-shaped bacterium which was isolated from the Yellow Sea in South Korea. The assembled genome sequence is 3,878,578 bp long with 3,646 protein-coding sequences in 159 contigs.

ABSTRACT Vibrio harveyi is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with vibriosis in penaeid shrimp. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a V. harveyi strain isolated from Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) during a vibriosis outbreak. The availability of this genome will aid future studies of vibriosis in shrimp aquaculture.

ABSTRACTPantoeasp. strain A4 is a Gram-negative bacterium isolated from theRafflesiaflower. We present here, for the first time, the genome sequence ofRafflesia-associatedPantoeasp. strain A4, which exhibited quorum-sensing activity.
