Bacillus subtilis BYS2 is a strain with a broad inhibitory spectrum against pathogenic bacteria. In the current study, we report the complete genome sequence of Bacillus subtilis BYS2. The chromosome of BYS2 (4,030,791 bp; G+C content, 43.88%) contained 3,914 protein-encoding genes, with 86 tRNAs, 30 rRNAs, and 5 noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs).

Sporomusa termitida type strain DSM 4440 was isolated from the intestinal content of the termite Nasutitermes nigriceps. The genome consists of one circular chromosome (5,185,220 bp) and a megaplasmid (131,121 bp) with an overall G+C content of 49.11%. It harbors 4,764 predicted protein-encoding genes.

We characterized the complete genome sequence of the lytic Salmonella enterica bacteriophage PRF-SP1, isolated from Penang National Park, a conserved rainforest in northern Malaysia. The novel phage species from the Autographiviridae family has a 39,966-bp double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) genome containing 49 protein-encoding genes and shares 90.96% similarity with Escherichia phage DY1.

ABSTRACT We present the complete genome of Stenotrophomonas indicatrix DAIF1, which was isolated from an oligotrophic pond in a water protection area. Whole-genome alignments indicated that strain DAIF1 belongs to the species Stenotrophomonas indicatrix. The whole genome (4,639,375 bp) harbors 4,108 protein-encoding genes, including 3,029 genes with assigned functions.

ABSTRACT Here, we describe the genome of Shewanella chilikensis strain DC57, a facultatively anaerobic bacterium isolated from corroded seal rings at a floating oil production system in Australia. The genome of strain DC57 has a size of 4.91 Mbp and harbors 4,178 predicted protein-encoding genes.

Bacillus subtilis WB800N is a genetically engineered variant of B. subtilis 168, such that all extracellular proteases are disrupted, which enables WB800N to be widely used for the expression of secretory proteins. Here, we report the 4.2-Mb complete genome sequence of WB800N and present all of the disrupted gene structure.

ABSTRACT We present here the complete genome sequence of Bacillus subtilis strain DKU_NT_03 isolated from the traditional Korean food chung-gook-jang, which is made from soybeans. This strain was chosen to identify genetic factors with high-quality nattokinase activity.

ABSTRACT Bacillus subtilis is a Gram-positive bacterium that serves as an important experimental system. B. subtilis NCIB 3610 is an undomesticated strain that exhibits phenotypes lost from the more common domesticated laboratory strains. Here, we announce the complete genome sequence of DK1042, a genetically competent derivative of NCIB 3610.

Escherichia coli 4s is a Gram-negative bacterium found in the equine intestinal ecosystem alongside diverse other coliform bacteria and bacteriophages. This announcement describes the complete genome of the T7-like E. coli 4s podophage Penshu1. From its 39,263-bp genome, 54 protein-encoding genes and a 179-bp terminal repeat were predicted.
