Moving beyond general personal traits as predictors for success, a growing volume of research acknowledges that entrepreneurial core processes are enabled by specific competencies which can be learned, further refined and developed. The research objective of this article is to develop a framework for entrepreneurial competence in a well-defined small firm sector by elaborating and empirically validating an existing categorization of entrepreneurial competence. The dataset includes 348 small firm owner-managers who participated in an educational programme, established to pursue new business opportunities in the Dutch agri-food sector. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis revealed that three domains constitute the heart of entrepreneurial competence in this small firm context: ‘analysing’, ‘pursuing’ and ‘networking’. These three competence domains provide professionals active in sector development, small business support and (vocational) education with an empirically valid framework of clearly discernible elements of entrepreneurial competence. This framework also encompasses insights on education and learning.

Tractors / Units which are reaching to the Dealer end from the plant after passing the mandatory checks & Inspection. The Quality requirement involves various elements process, people, material, resources and logistics which is more important to meet the customer satisfaction. The feedbacks are received in terms of pre delivery inspection (PDI) observations from AGCO Mexico team. The adequacy and adherence are to be strengthened from receipt to dispatch / transit of end product till dealer point at Mexico. The sustainable actions are initiated using the RCA and problem solving tools and 6 sigma tools to reduce the variance at various stages of manufacturing plant and transit. Quick wins are implemented for the single cause issues as well as low cost actionable issues. Hence the desired enhancement of Right first time (RFT) at dealer / Mexico can be achieved which is under progress. The Pre-Delivery inspection (PDI) is process of checking the units before dispatch to the requested customer when the time of sale. Basically it is a Check sheet kind of documents which carried by a specially qualified engineers. They are basically check all functional parameters of the tractors and cross examine the aesthetics of the products based on customers’ expectations. PDI will vary from product to product and classified based on the features inbuilt in the units, but essentially a complete and thorough examination of every aspect of the tractor which basically exterior panels to the interior, mechanical parts and electricals functions. Strategic alliances are a common feature of uncertain competitive environments driven by fast-changing technologies. However, research also reveals that firms find strategic alliances frequently to be more expensive, less efficient and more difficult to manage than anticipated. Alliances based around emerging technologies can suffer higher failure rates and incur greater costs than the formation of a new business venture. This paper uses a resource-based perspective to examine the variety of roles that, despite the problems they present, alliances have played in the strategies of three firms competing within the rapidly evolving handheld computer industry. The paper concludes by presenting a view that the ability of a firm to set up and manage strategic alliances can be considered as a distinct organisational capability for firms seeking to compete in a fast changing competitive environment driven by emerging technologies, and indicates possible directions for future research in this area.

Business plans are advocated by many business support professionals and others, such as educators in higher education institutions, because they suit their purposes. A typical view is that a business plan is ‘one of the most important steps in setting up any new business’ (Burns, 2011); but their hegemony is now being questioned. Sarasvathy (2008) suggests that effectuation is the method often favoured by expert entrepreneurs and this paper seeks to combine it with an exploration view of entrepreneurship to produce an alternative tool for start-up ventures. The paper compares the pros and cons of each approach and suggests that an exploration approach is often more natural, logical and effective than the business plan based alternative.

The method of analyzing and modeling cyclical fluctuations of economy initiated by F. Kydland and E. Prescott - the 2004 Nobel Prize winners in Economics - is considered in the article. They proposed a new business cycle theory integrating the theory of long-run economic growth as well as the microeconomic theory of consumers and firms behavior. Simple version of general dynamic and stochastic macroeconomic model is described. The given approach which was formulated in their fundamental work "Time to Build and Aggregate Fluctuations" (1982) gave rise to an extensive research program and is still used as a basic instrument for investigating cyclical processes in economy nowadays.

This research proposed a model to assist the design of the associated data architecture and data analytic to support talent forecast in the current accelerating changes in economy, industry and business change due to the accelerating pace of technological change. The emerging and re-emerging economy model were available, such as Industrial revolution 4.0, platform economy, sharing economy and token economy. Those were driven by new business model and technology innovation. An increase capability of technology to automate more jobs will cause a shift in talent pool and workforce. New business model emerge as the availabilityand the cost effective emerging technology, and as a result of emerging or re-emerging economic models. Both, new business model and technology innovation, create new jobs and works that have not been existed decades ago. The future workers will be faced by jobs that may not exist today. A dynamics model of inter-correlation of economy, industry, business model and talent forecast were proposed. A collection of literature review were conducted to initially validate the model.
