An electric oil pump (EOP) was integrated into the hydraulic system and an automatic transmission (AT) mechanical oil pump (MOP) was downsized. These processes were performed to combine a start-stop function with the AT and further improve the transmission efficiency. Furthermore, this study established a dynamics model of power loss and leakage of an 8-speed AT; a flow-based control algorithm of the EOP was then developed to realize the start-stop function and support the MOP to meet the flow requirement of the system. Based on a driving simulation method, sizes of the MOP and EOP that ensured optimal fuel economy were selected. A control strategy for the starting clutch was also developed to minimize the starting delay of the test vehicle. A test environment on a rig and prototype vehicle was established to verify the feasibility of the proposed control strategies. The test results indicated that the transmission functioned favorably with the novel two-pump system presented, and a quick and smooth starting performance was achieved when the engine was restarted. The findings in this study are extremely valuable for forward designs of an AT for realizing start-stop function and improving efficiency.

To ensure correctly operating control systems, the measurement and control equipment in WWTPs must be mutually consistent. The dynamic simulation of activated sludge systems could offer a suitable tool for designing and optimising control strategies. Ideal or simplified sensor models represent a limiting factor for comparability with field applications. More realistic sensor models are therefore required. Two groups of sensor models are proposed on the basis of field and laboratory tests: one for specific sensors and another for a classification of sensor types to be used with the COST simulation benchmark environment. This should lead to a more realistic test environment and allow control engineers to define the requirements of the measuring equipment as a function of the selected control strategy.

The increasing use of mobile cooperative robots in a variety of applications also implies an increasing research effort on cooperative strategies solutions, typically involving communications and control. For such research, simulation is a powerful tool to quickly test algorithms, allowing to do more exhaustive tests before implementation in a real application. However, the transition from an initial simulation environment to a real application may imply substantial rework if early implementation results do not match the ones obtained by simulation, meaning the simulation was not accurate enough. One way to improve accuracy is to incorporate network and control strategies in the same simulation and to use a systematic procedure to assess how different techniques perform. In this paper, we propose a set of procedures called Integrated Robotic and Network Simulation Method (IRoNS Method), which guide developers in building a simulation study for cooperative robots and communication networks applications. We exemplify the use of the improved methodology in a case-study of cooperative control comparison with and without message losses. This case is simulated with the OMNET++/INET framework, using a group of robots in a rendezvous task with topology control. The methodology led to more realistic simulations while improving the results presentation and analysis.

In order to provide a solution of active rectification for linear pumps in pump control system, a novel collaborative rectification structure is conceptually designed in this paper. The fundamental subsystem is the direct drive pump cell (DDPC). A DDPC consists of a cylinder and a valve, and the piston rod and the valve spool are integrated together. The DDPC could be driven by a linear oscillating motor directly. The DDPC working process is logically modeled as a state machine. Certain theorems are given and proved to illustrate the composition principles of a pump system with collaborative rectification. The kinematic flow rate of the collaborative rectification pump is studied. According to the comparison to the existing linear pumps, the novel pump has more structure compactness and control flexibility.

The paper analyses the status and some problems of aquiculture in china, and makes use of industrial control fieldbus and Intranet technology to achieve the hardware and software design and control strategies of factory aquaculture, and applies WEB server and database server and browser to form the management system of environment control and production process. The system can realize real-time control of dissolved oxygen and temperature and PH in pond, and make them stabilize in optimum value, and remarkably improve productivity. The test results have proved that the system is simply operated and good controlling performance; the system can save energy, and provide the practicable measures for aquiculture.

Aiming at the communication test problem of the DCS upgraded, the novel test software, which contains the functions of DCS digital test, DCS analogue test and data error test, has been developed based on OPC technology in this paper. This software can connect the OPC server of the tested DCS with the remote OPC server of the hardware test platform. Besides, it can realize the real-time acquisition and control of the process data between the two systems. Finally, the system has achieved the purpose of the DCS communication and data error test in the control loop by combining with the internal procedures. The test results have been proved that this software could realize the relevant functions of DCS communication test and could get good usability and scalability.

Load characteristics of the residential district is different from public buildings, so residential district of soil source heat pump air conditioner system operating characteristics are different from public buildings. Studies have been made on operating characteristics of soil source heat pump air conditioner system in a residential district in Qingdao, analyzing energy consumption of soil source heat pump air conditioner system and exploring its operation laws. It provides the basis for design, operation and control strategies of soil source heat pump system.
