UAVs, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, have gained significant attention recently, due to the increasingly growing range of applications. Most UAVs use radio frequency transmission to communicate with the ground station to receive commands and send data. However, this model of communication restricts the user to being in specific locations and limits missions to narrow areas. This paper proposes a Cloud Computing (CC) integration where the UAVs become part of the cloud infrastructure and can be accessed ubiquitously. This concept is similar to the Internet of Things (IoT) where smart objects are connected to the Internet and are given unique identification. Moreover, to provide an appropriate way of communication, UAV resources are developed as web services. They provide their resources and services through a uniform interface using the RESTful HTTP architecture. This concept is relevant to the Web of Things (WoT) that provides smart objects with interfaces to be accessed through the World Wide Web (WWW). However, in UAVs, not only the web services are computational services but they are also physical elements affecting and affected by the real world environment.

Web services are playing a pivotal role in business, management, governance, and society with the dramatic development of the Internet and the Web. However, many fundamental issues are still ignored to some extent. For example, what is the unified perspective to the state-of-the-art of Web services? What is the foundation of Demand-Driven Web Services (DDWS)? This chapter addresses these fundamental issues by examining the state-of-the-art of Web services and proposing a theoretical and technological foundation for demand-driven Web services with applications. This chapter also presents an extended Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), eSMACS SOA, and examines main players in this architecture. This chapter then classifies DDWS as government DDWS, organizational DDWS, enterprise DDWS, customer DDWS, and citizen DDWS, and looks at the corresponding Web services. Finally, this chapter examines the theoretical, technical foundations for DDWS with applications. The proposed approaches will facilitate research and development of Web services, mobile services, cloud services, and social services.

When or how uberveillance will be implemented in its full-blown manifestation is still a subject for some intriguing discussion and a topic of robust disagreement, but what is generally accepted by most of the interlocutors is that an “uberveillance society” will emerge sooner rather than later, and that one way or another this will mean an immense upheaval in all of our societal, business, and government relationships. What is apparent from the numerous qualitative and quantitative studies conducted is that microchipping people is a discernibly divisive issue. If we continue on the current trajectory, we will soon see further divisions – not just between those who have access to the Internet and those who do not, but between those who subjugate themselves to be physically connected to the Web of Things and People, and those who are content enough to simply have Internet connectivity through external devices like smart phones, to those who opt to live completely off the grid. Time will only tell how we as human-beings will adapt after we willingly adopt innovations with extreme and irreversible operations. This introduction serves to provide a background context for the term uberveillance, which has received significant international attention since its establishment.

In recent years, the number and size of Web services on the Internet have a rapid development. Industry and academia start to study the web service. In Internet resources, if the web cannot be found, the web service will become meaningless. So for web services, large-scale managements and problems are the keys of the study of Internet service resources. This paper studies large-scale distributed web services in network resources based on SOA architecture ideas. It also designs the unified management and organization system of ideological and political education which treat the ideological and political education as the content. It proposes SN network resource service model of ideological and political education. With the development and popularization of the Internet today, the study on Internet resources of ideological and political education in this paper provides a theoretical reference for the innovation of the ideological and political education.

The Web of Things (WoT) is a refinement of the Internet of Things by integrating heterogeneous devices not only into the Internet (the network), but into the Web (the application layer). With the expansion of applications and devices, WoT Gateway Middleware is bearing more and more pressure from data processing, and therefore the WoT gateway middleware takes more time to respond to the requests of applications. A data collecting and caching mechanism is an effective solution to this problem. In this paper, we begin by describing the gateway middleware architecture with the focus on data collecting and caching functionality. Then the data collecting and caching (DCC) functionality module is discussed in detail. The DCC module supports three kinds of data collecting and caching modes: fundamental mode, configurable mode and adaptive mode. We finally demonstrate how these three modes work. A SMART HOME system is developed as the implementation to verify and discuss the proposed mechanism.

This study explains the internet usage among Iranian users. Therefore it has been tried to give basic answers to this question that: What is the Iranians main use for internet and not shopping online? Based on this, by thoroughly analyzing the literature of internet users and develop a comprehensive theoretical model, the use of internet was tested in the web domain. The results indicate that; there is a significant relation between the demographic variables (age, education) and the motivations for using the Internet, also results show that in Iran, men and women use the internet for more searching motivations, and one of the major reasons that Iranian users do not shop online is the mistrust to receive that product. This study was done on a descriptive–analytical basis and based on the achievements of this research, it was recommended to advertising agencies that by using the indicators identified how to make appropriate steps in order to provide online advertising.

The Web Services Marketplace creates a common trading ground wherein buyers and sellers of business services can come together within a centralized marketplace. However, sellers of business services must provide a mechanism by which knowledge and awareness of the service is created for the buyer and a means by which sellers can effectively compete in the marketplace. The most widely accepted method for accomplishing these tasks is advertising. This study investigates the nascent phenomenon of the advertising of business services within the Web services marketplace, develops a theoretically grounded definition and characteristics of business services offered in the Web Services Marketplace, and develops a model for the effective advertisement of business services offered in the Web Services Marketplace.
