An effective evaluation model for safety appraisal of existing concrete members plays a significant role in promoting the management of an existing building. This study aims to introduce extension theory into the safety appraisal of existing concrete members based on five indices (bearing capacity, deflection-to-span ratio, cracks, reinforcement corrosion, and concrete carbonation depth) and inspection data. A matter-element model is established for the safety appraisal of existing concrete members based on matter-element theory. The safety appraisal rating is identified by the comprehensive correlation degrees, which can be calculated by the weights and single-index correlation degrees of the five indices. Owing to the one-sidedness in the single-weighting method, a comprehensive weighting method integrating the merits of subjective weight and objective weight is adopted based on game theory. The interval analytic hierarchy process (IAHP) and entropy weight method are, respectively, used to determine the subjective and objective weight of each index. It was found that the subjective weight vector calculated by IAHP consists of interval numbers. Therefore, the traditional comprehensive weighting method based on game theory needs to be improved by the interval number theory. A comparison analysis between the results generated by the proposed model and an analytic hierarchy process-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model is conducted. The results show that the matter-element extension model based on comprehensive weight is more accurate and rational. The proposed model makes full use of inspection data and gives a clear safety level to decision makers avoiding disorganized data of a single index. Hence, it can serve as guidance for safety appraisal of existing concrete members in the future. Furthermore, the improved comprehensive weighting method has practical merits and high scientific value in terms of safety evaluation and other applications in different research fields.

An index system of low-carbon Industrial Transfer Park has been constructed form six aspects, which are planning, management, infrastructure, industry ecosystem, human life and carbon sinks. The park is evaluated by using the analytic hierarchy process and the extension method. The evaluation model is more comprehensive and objective than others to assess the degree of carbon emissions of the industrial park.

Owing to the urgent demands for new developments and maintenances of the existing infrastructures under limited government budget and time, increasing BOT (build-operate-transfer) projects have been a significant factor affecting the economic developments in many countries. However, as BOT projects usually induce huge capital investments, government sectors must prudently evaluate the project feasibility from both financial and nonfinancial aspects before the implementation. Therefore, how to establish an objective evaluation model which can comprehensively assess the feasibility of each BOT project and determine the priority of its implementation has become an important issue. This study incorporates analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and utility theory to develop a utility-based multicriteria model for supporting the selection of BOT projects. A case study is provided to demonstrate that the implementation of the proposed model can effectively help decision-making teams participate in economical evaluations so that the feasibility of as-planed BOT projects can be determined and project priority can be set efficiently and consistently. Santrauka Dėl esamos infrastruktūros plėtros ir atnaujinimo būtinybės, esant ribotam valstybės biudžetui ir laikui, SEP (Statyba-Eksploatacija-Perdavimas) projektų vykdymas ženkliai prisidėjo prie daugelio šalių ekonominių pokyčių. Dažnai SEP projektai reikalauja didelių kapitalo investicijų, todėl valstybės sektorius turi įvertinti projekto įgyvendinimo galimybes tiek finansiniu tiek nefinansiu aspektu. Koks turi būti objektyvaus vertinimo modelis, kuris leistų visapusiškai įvertinti kiekvieno SEP projeto pagrįstumą ir nustatyti jo įgyvendinimo prioritetus? Šiame straipsnyje, naudojant analitinę hierarchinio proceso (AHP) struktūrą ir naudingumo teoriją, SEP projektų atrinkimui sukurtas daugiakriterine naudingumo teorija pagrįstas modelis. Skaitmeninis pavyzdys įrodo, kad siūlomas modelis gali sėkmingai pagelbėti atrenkant ekonomiškai efektyvius SEP projektus.

The selection of bracing system for a deep excavation is a quite complex system engineering which relates to many target factors of safety and feasibility, economy and rationality, construction period, convenience of construction and environmental protection. In order to avoid the casualness in determining subjective weight by traditional fuzzy analytic hierarchy process evaluation, taking information entropy into consideration, the comprehensive evaluation model was established. This model is proved to be reasonable and effective by an engineering example.

Online shopping has gradually become an important way of consumption, and consumers are paying more and more attention to negative reviews. In order to avoid the massive amount of negative review information leading to loss of useful information, this paper proposes a method for evaluating the usefulness of negative online reviews. Firstly, the method constructs an evaluation index system for the usefulness of negative online reviews from three aspects: the form feature, text feature, and reviewer feature of negative reviews, and uses a combination weighting method based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) and entropy method to determine the weight of each index. Secondly, the usefulness ranking results of negative online reviews are obtained through the improved TOPSIS method based on the combined weighting method. Finally, the empirical analysis of the proposed model is carried out by crawling the negative online reviews of JD.com Fresh Food platform, and the improved model is compared with the traditional TOPSIS model, which proves the feasibility and effectiveness of the model.

In order to evaluate software trustworthy level in quantitative method, it is the key how to effectively integrate numerous of evidence items to analyze software trustworthiness. Combing with analytic hierarchy process (AHP), a software trustworthy level evaluation model based on layered idea is proposed. The model is applied to evaluate the trustworthy level of a kind of software. Based on improved trustworthy software triangle model, a single evidence item is analyzed to decide that it contributes only to one single trustworthy attribute or to multiple trustworthy attributes. Then, all evidences are grouped to different evidence groups according to the evidences’ different contribution to different trustworthy attributions. After that, the evidence group is used as an individual layer between evidence level and trustworthy attribute level. Finally, the quantitive evaluation to software trustworthy level is done from the evidence layer in the bottom to the evaluation level in the top. AHP is used to set the weight. The proposed evaluation model balances the complexity of theory and convenience of operation effectively. The layered AHP is easy to realize in the model. In order to analyze the model performance, a kind of software system is used as object in the simulating experiments. Experimental results show that the proposed model can evaluate the software system effectively.

As water abundance of aquifer of coal roof significantly influences roof water hazard, evaluating and grading the degree of water abundance are important in practical application. By analyzing the influencing factors of water abundance of aquifer, an evaluation index system and a grading standard for the water abundance were established integrating quantitative and qualitative indexes. Meanwhile, according to the grey relation characteristics of the major factors influencing water abundance, a multi-factor evaluation model for water abundance was constructed based on grey relational analysis and analytic hierarchy process. The model can objectively reveal the influences of the multiple factors on the evaluation of water abundance. Furthermore, the method was verified by comprehensively evaluating the water abundance of the aquifer of coal roof in a working face of Pingshuo Coal Mine in Shanxi, China using the model. The method provides basis for the research on the evaluation of water abundance of aquifer in coal roof.

This article presents an indicator weighting method for constructing composite indices to assess sustainable development at the subnational level. The study uses an analytic hierarchy process (AHP), which is considered relevant, since it establishes links between the indicators that make up the different sustainable development goals (SDG). For this purpose, 28 indicators defined by experts constitute the base to evaluate the progress towards sustainable development of the Aburrá Valley region, located in Antioquia, Colombia. The results show that health, employment, and education indicators obtained higher weights, while environmental indicators received the most reduced weights. Likewise, the model proves to be consistent using a consistency ratio, which generates the possibility of replicating this model at different subnational levels.
