This article summarizes the concept of sharing, bibliographic analysis of publications in the field of car-sharing based on the Scopus database. The primary purpose of the study is to study the economic and legal basis for the development of car-sharing business models in Ukraine. Systematization of literature sources and approaches devoted to the economic efficiency of the implementation of car-sharing business models has shown that in Ukraine, this issue is almost not paid attention to in the economic, scientific sphere, and legal, scientific areas. The urgency of solving this scientific problem lies in the need and ability to relieve road traffic from traffic jams, reducing the average downtime of vehicles, as well as economic benefits for entities (vehicle owners and passengers) involved in sharing business models. The research has the following logical sequence: the types of car-sharing business models were analyzed, and their comparative characteristics were carried out; the economic and legal preconditions of car-sharing business development in Ukraine are investigated. The research identifies legislative obstacles to the establishment of a car-sharing company in Ukraine. A SWOT analysis of the conditions for implementing a car-sharing business model in Ukraine was performed. It analyses the costs and efficiency of creating a business based on a car-sharing business model in Ukraine on a conditional example. The equipment maintenance services have become a new profit center and an important way to gain sustainable competitive advantage for manufacturing enterprises. The business model is an important tool for manufacturing enterprises to derive economic benefits from sustainable competitive advantage in the context of digitalization technologies, such as IoT, big data, and cloud computing. At present, the concept of equipment maintenance business model innovation is still vague, and it is rare to report on the innovation behaviors and types of equipment maintenance business models adopted by manufacturing enterprises. Based on literature analysis of equipment maintenance services and business model innovation, following business model gestalt theory, the concept of equipment maintenance business model innovation is analyzed at the business-level, the types are divided into novel and efficient following value sources—“innovation and efficiency”. The initial scale is developed through literature investigation, semi-structured interviews and expert reviews, and tested by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis by using the data of two independent large-sample questionnaires. The results indicate that the behavior and types of equipment maintenance business model innovation can be described by two types and 19 items.

Circular entrepreneurship is becoming a new, promising reality, in the manner of needed radical paradigmatic change in the era of Anthropocene. Circular entrepreneurs intend to create social and environmental value while they build financially viable businesses. They are embedded in multiple institutionalised value systems that they are expected to adhere to. Those institutionalised systems provide circular entrepreneurs with different, in many cases, contradictory norms, values and guiding principles. Substantial amount of research has been done to date to examine the impact of institutions on entrepreneurial endeavours. And yet, research lacks sufficient insights into how circular entrepreneurs engage with the institutional structures in designing business models on a financially feasible ground while creating social and environmental value. To address this, this paper investigates how circular entrepreneurs respond to the value systems of surrounding institutions in business modelling and how two fundamental aspects of embeddedness, namely resource integration and value cocreation, are achieved within a circular business model that is coherent in itself and with the entrepreneur's ambitions. Both the institutional context and the institutional logics surrounding entrepreneurs are examined to comprehend the surrounding institutional systems more in-depth and extensively. By analysing a longitudinal in-depth case study, this article aims to develop better insights into circular business modelling and underlying mechanisms of embeddedness. The case is a born-circular small cidermaker in Cornwall (UK), namely Wasted Apple. The findings show that the circular entrepreneur is surrounded by dominant normative institutions forming the principles of business model design. circular entrepreneurs mark fidelity to the institutional norms to obtain a range of microcompetencies and to manage integrated hybrid tensions within the value creation system. And therefore, a circular business model is a more holistic and inclusive structure as compared to a typical conventional linear business model. And yet, paradoxically embeddedness facilitates business survival but hinders strategic business planning as well as business profitability and growth.

With the rapid development of information technology, the information overload has become a very serious problem in web information environment. The personalized recommendation came into being. Current recommending algorithms, however, are facing a series of challenges. To solve the problem of the complex context, a new context recommendation algorithm based on the tripartite graph model is proposed for the three-dimensional model in complex systems. Improving the accuracy of the recommendation by the material diffusion, through the heat conduction to improve the diversity of the recommended objects, and balancing the accuracy and diversity through the integration of resources thus realize the personalized recommendation. The experimental results show that the proposed context recommendation algorithm based on the tripartite graph model is superior to other traditional recommendation algorithms in recommendation performance.

Clean energy for power generation and heating is an important route for clean energy consumption in the northern regions with abundant wind and solar resources. However, in the promotion of clean heating projects, there are problems such as high investment costs and high pressure from government financial subsidies. Therefore, it is urgent to explore new economically feasible business models suitable for clean energy power generation and heating. This paper first proposes a new business model of clean energy power generation and heating under the BOO operation mode of the PPP business model. Secondly, from the perspective of investment value, the net present value method is used to analyze the economic benefits of the project, and the cash flow of the clean energy power generation and heating project is analyzed. Finally, combined with actual cases in a certain area in Xinjiang, the net present value method is used to analyze the calculation examples, verify the economic feasibility of the proposed business model, and provide guidance for the further promotion of clean energy power generation and heating projects.

The airline industry has entered a rapid development and transformation process, especially after the Second World War. In this process, it is seen that the market structure changed and many private airlines were established. Due to increased competition, airlines have begun to follow various strategies and business models in order to gain a competitive advantage over each other. One of the business models successfully applied recently is the low-cost business model. Therefore, this study focuses on airline companies that applied the low-cost business model. The study aims to reveal the factors that determine the financial risk in airlines, which implements the low-cost business model. For this purpose, firstly, airline companies that implement the low-cost business model have been identified according to the classification in the literature. The study included an analysis of 13 airlines with the low-cost business model that was fully accessible to financial data for the 2004-2017 period. Panel data analysis was used in the study and Altman (1968) Z-Score and Springate (1978) S-Score were used in measuring financial risk. Empirical findings of the study reveal that firm leverage, asset structure, firm size, firm profitability, and liquidity ratio have an effect on financial risk.

Sustainability innovation is often not achievable by a single organisation; even if changes in business operations can lead to great advances towards a more sustainable business model (SBM), the effectiveness of these implementations largely depends on the combined actions of the organisation’s network of partners. The aim of this research is to analyse the way that SBMs and partnerships co-evolve to enhance the sustainability of the involved organisations and spread sustainability culture beyond the network. In doing so, this article presents a case study of the company Alisea as a business operating within a circular business model, along with its network of partnerships. The co-evolution of the business model and partnerships is led by enabling factors that characterise the underlying relationships. The role of cross-sector collaborations is demonstrated in terms of boosting the social and environmental dimensions of the circular business model, enhancing social and economic benefits within and outside the partnerships, and spreading sustainability culture in different sectors.

ABSTRACT Firms from transforming economies can leverage the characteristics of their location to develop innovative business models before internationalizing. This note showcases ByteDance's innovative business model for its TikTok app, which became one of the most downloaded apps globally. ByteDance used its large and increasingly demanding home market to experiment with creative combinations of business model elements to develop a unique business proposition that positions the TikTok app as a hybrid of social networking and video-sharing. In addition, TikTok benefitted from China's IT strength supported by national high-tech policy to an AI-based recommendation algorithm as a non-location bound resource. TikTok shows that firms from transforming economies can launch successful global products through business model innovation.
