This quantitative study aimedto determine the correlation between senior high school Grade 12 students’ perception of school climate and compliance with school classroom normsin a private university in Manila, Philippines. A sample of 249 Grade 12 respondents who were randomly selected answered the online self-administered questionnaire composed of modified scales to explore the two variables, with Cronbach tests exhibiting an acceptable level of internal consistency (perceptions school climate = 0.88, compliance of classroom norms = 0.86). The study found apositive perceptionof school cli-mate (M= 4.19, SD = 0.40)and a very high level of classroom norm compliance (M= 3.40, SD = 0.32) among the respondents. The Pearson R test revealed a significant moderate positive correlation between their perception of school climateand their level of school classroom norm compliance and (r = 0.554, p< 0.001). This implies that their compliance or adherence to school classroom norms increases as their perception of school climate positively increases.

Anti-intellectualism, the manifestation of disrespect and lack of interest of individuals for intellectual pursuits and critical thinking, has become a constant thread not only in the corporate world but also among students. Its long-term effect will be very excruciating, especially in the Philippine economy. This quantitative correlational research investigated the extent of relationship between the anti-intellectual attitudes and level of self-esteem or the individual’s overall sense of self-worth or personal value of one hundred and ninety-four (194) senior high school students from Fiat Lux Academe-Cavite, Philippines. The researchers made use of the Student’s Anti-Intellectualism Scale and State Self-Esteem Scale to measure the two variables. Analyzed data revealed an average level of attitude of anti-intellectualism and a moderate level of self-esteem among the participants. Furthermore, there is a significant, inverse, and moderate correlation between the two variables (Pearson= -0.50; Spearman Correlation = -0.44). Thus, students with high level of self-esteem have low anti-intellectual attitudes. Conversely, students exhibiting low level of anti-intellectual attitudes tend to have higher self-esteem. The researchers also utilized other statistical techniques such as the t Statistic and linear regression.

The social dimension of environmental issues communicates the worsening of environmental problems as a result of human decisions. This descriptive-comparative study evaluates environmental education in the areas of knowledge, awareness, attitudes, skills, and participation of 323 sampled senior high school students. Data were collected using a researcher-made survey questionnaire and were analyzed using mean, t-test, and ANOVA. The findings of the study showed students’ high level of knowledge, attitude, skills, and participation. When grouped according to grade level and sex, significant differences were found in participation and in awareness when grouped according to grade level and strand. Consistently, a significant difference was found in the attitude when students were compared according to grade level, sex, and strand. Generally, this paper validates how knowledge and attitude affect human behavior towards the environment as mediated by appropriate environmental education. Likewise, it affirms that a positive attitude and concern towards the environment positively affects involvement in any environmental initiatives.


This paper analyzed of the school climate of senior high school students in Jember in the history lesson context. The purposes of this study are: (1) analyzing the school climate of senior high school students in Jember in the history lesson context; (2) examining the difference of school climate of senior high schools in jember. The total samples involved were 375 students. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test the difference by using SPSS 23 for windows program. The results showed that the mean value of school climate of SMA 1 Jember 3.66; SMA 2 Jember 3:47; SMA 3 Jember 3:20; SMA 4 Jember 3:39 and; SMA 5 Jember 3:40. The result of the ANOVA test showed that there was a significant difference of school climate of the senior high school students in Jember in the history lesson context (f = 4.789; Sig.0,001). The largest difference of significance level was shown by the sample group of SMA 1 Jember and SMA 3 Jember (mean differences = 0.46611). The school climate of SMA 1 Jember has very significant difference compared to the school climate of SMA 3 Jember.

A voluntary after school program to prepare students for external speech contests was introduced in a senior high school. The students’ perceptions of, and attitudes towards, the program were assessed. Analysis of the data shows a high level of satisfaction and the participating students reported their confidence and levels of speaking and writing had improved. Furthermore, the program offered new learning contexts that were beneficial to the students and developed their skills in the language areas that they found most difficult. The students also had the opportunity to voice their opinions and work autonomously, which empowered them to develop their English skills with a definite goal. 外部スピーチコンテスト対策プログラムが高校で開始された。その対策プログラムに参加する生徒のプログラムに対する認識、及び姿勢が調査された。データの分析の結果、プログラムに参加した生徒は高い満足度を示し、自信とスピーキングとラィティングのレベルが向上したと報告した。更に、その対策プログラムでは、生徒の役に立ち、なおかつ生徒たちが最も難しいと考えている言語分野のスキルを向上させる新しい学習内容が提供された。生徒たちは、自分の意見を発表し、自主的に学習をすすめる機会もまた持つことが出来た。それによって、明確な目標を持ち、英語のスキルを発展させようとする自立心が養成された。

This study aims to improve the ability of high-level thinking by developing learning models based on problems in senior high school students. The type study is research development. The subject of dissemination consists in 3 distric/city in North Sumatera, namely: SMK Negeri 6 Medan, MAN Deli Serdang Distric and SMA Yapim Taruna Langkat Distric, SMA YPK Medan City. Instrument of Collecting data used are observation guidelines, questionnaires, interview guides, students mathematics text books for 11th grade in Senior high school, Teacher’s guide book, instrument of pre-test and post-test. Development of model is adopted from Thiagarajan’s model and Semmel & Semmel’s model. This study has compiled teaching materials in the form of textbooks for students’ and teacher’s guide book that includes the structured steps of solving mathematical problems based on problem solving which can construct high-level thinking. Results of dissemination showed a significant improvement of students’ problem solving ability in three districts/cities in North Sumatra at four schools.

The study deals with the developing interactive media for senior high school students. The objective of this study is to find out how to develop interactive media for better speaking skill of senior high school students. The research was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D). The subject of this research was 2016/2017 students of the eleventh grade of Class XI IPA4 in SMAN 1 Batang Kuis. The number of the students was 30 students. The data of this study was collected by using need analysis questionnaire and experts’ judgment. Need analysis questionnaire was calculated by using percentage to get the information of students’ need before developing interactive media. Experts’ judgment was calculated by using likert data, mean and criteria interval of expert judgment to know the validity of interactive media which has been developed. After the data analyzed, it was found that the experts’ judgment result was 4.80 which had a very good criteria interval. The result of the research find that interactive media is a very good to be used in teaching speaking skill.

This study is about the characteristics of Physics Module to improve students of Senior High School reasoning ability-based on Multirepresentation. The problem of study is how characteristics of Physics Modules Based on Multirepresentation to improve students ability to reason? This problem is described in two study questions. First, is the Physics Module based on Multirepresentation contains examples of the application context of the image phenomenon ofphysics? Second, how is the writing pattern of Physics Module? This study is about Physics module development based on Multirepresentation, using the mix method model of investigation that collecting qualitative data, then construct the draft Module Physics, so the Module Physics ready to be validated. Subjects in this study is a Physics module which can improve the reasoning ability of students in Senior High School. While respondents were Senior High School students majoring in science at the students in Senior High School. Data collection techniques are observations, questionnaires, and documents. Data described in qualitative research. The results showed that the physics module based on Multirepresentation contains examples of application of the principle of material in the context of the image physical phenomenon ; and has a certain writing pattern, which has a chapter title sequence, sub-chapter title, instructions for use, a description of the material, sample questions, questions test capabilities, and bibliography.
