Interaction is the success factors that support online learning pedagogy that can enhanced the learning and teaching process, increased students’ satisfaction and learning outcomes. This paper reviewed empirical studies on interaction in online learning. In order to achieve the aim, the study was conducted qualitatively in the form of document review study. Conclusively, there were three common types of interaction that have been cited frequently in the literature: Learner–learner, learner–instructor and learner–content. However, this study embedded the collaboration theory where learners take full responsibility to their learning with instructor guide. Therefore, the interaction between learner–learner and learner–instructor should be emphasized.

One of the success factors in online learning is student engagement. Therefore, the use of technology to influence student engagement in meaningful and effective learning experiences is worthy for investigation. Concept mapping is an effective knowledge construction strategy to help students. This study investigates the influence of concept maps as a formative assessment of online learning and its impact on student engagement and learning outcomes. The design of experiment used the non-equivalent comparison group pretest-posttest. It was included in the quasi-experiment to compare two different groups. The results reveal strong evidence that concept mapping not only improves learning outcomes, but also increases student engagement in all types of tested engagements, namely behavioral, emotional, and cognitive.

The problem of education in this digital era is that there is still a lack of teaching staff or lecturers expressing creative and innovative ideas in the form of books, or scientific works, learning models, teaching materials as solutions in learning digital technology. The knowledge and skills of Learning Management Systems for Biology Education students at the University of Pattimura in exploring and mastering the concept of Learning and Teaching are indispensable in the online learning process through the zoom meeting and whatsapp program during the covid-19. The analysis of variance test for the Fvalue of 2065,198 with the significance of the calculated F is 0.000 and the mean squared value is 1673,000, > Partial squared value of 0.989. This means that there is an influence of mastery and skills of the Learning Management System on the learning outcomes of learning and learning subjects through online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in Semester VI Students of the Biology Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pattimura University. There was success in improving learning achievement and learning outcomes in the Maluku region during the covid-19 pandemic, even though the lecture process was carried out online or online using the zoom meeting and whatsapp program. in dealing with the spread of covid 19 in the Mauku Region.

This study aims to describe the implementation of collaborative learning online through WhatsApp Messenger (WA) Group. The subjects in this study were 34 students of Mathematics Education at the University of Balikpapan who were studying the Theory of Numbers. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation (observation of chat activities within the WA Group), documentation, and learning outcomes tests. However, the results showed that the implementation of online learning through the WA Group went well. This can be seen from the achievement of student learning outcomes which shows that 27 out of 34 students get scores above 70. In addition, students also feel that they have new learning experiences, can express themselves in discussions, the atmosphere of learning is very relaxed, learning becomes more update, and can be accessed anywhere if students forget the material they have learned.

The growing global attention to online learning, particularly in light of COVID-19, has spurred interest in systematic, robust, and pedagogically sound approaches to online learning like the fully online learning community (FOLC) model. FOLC consists of three overlapping dimensions—social presence, cognitive presence, and collaborative learning—which can function within fully online or hybrid digital spaces. FOLC thus supports the establishment of vibrant online learning communities. This chapter extends prior theoretical and empirical work on FOLC and highlights supportive and challenging academic interactions. Readiness to work within FOLC environments requires developing a range of 21st century competencies, such as complex problem solving and social negotiation, to effectively use the selected digital affordances and collaborate with others. These abilities and potential readiness interventions are addressed here as an intrinsic part of the model. The chapter concludes with reports of several empirical studies that explore the efficacy of the FOLC model.

Meanwhile, educators are professionals who are involved in the process of learning and teaching, evaluating learning outcomes, conducting coaching and training, and conducting research and community service. And education administration that supports administration, management, development, supervision, and technical services to support the education process in the education unit. The purpose of the education of educators and education personnel who support the education system is to provide eligibility for educators in carrying out their duties both as educators and nursing staff in schools. So, the education of educators and labor are interrelated so that educational goals can be achieved
