The focus of this article is how the market forces in the field of professional psychology affect the Christian training programs. After a brief review of some of the changes in the field over the past three decades, current national and Christian community trends are presented. Although market forces affect the manner in which the Christian training programs move forward, they do not change the mission of these programs. The mission has not been accomplished. Therefore, the task of training Christian professional psychologists continues.

As developing programs is the core in fostering knowledge on ethnic work for cadres and civil servants under Decision No. 402/QD-TTg dated 14/3/2016 of the Prime Minister, it is urgent to build training program on ethnic minority affairs for 04 target groups in the political system from central to local by 2020 with a vision to 2030. The article highlighted basic issues of practical basis to design training program of ethnic minority affairs in the past years; suggested solutions to build the training programs in integration and globalization period.

Objectives: To (1) survey Australian orthodontists about their involvement with a government-funded scheme for patients with clefts, the Medicare Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Scheme (MCLCPS) and (2) investigate their attitude toward treating patients with clefts and their training in this respect. Design: A 13-question online survey was distributed to members of the Australian Society of Orthodontists. The survey gathered information regarding respondent demographics, the number of MCLCPS-eligible patients seen in the past 12 months and usual billing practices. Results: A total of 96 complete responses were obtained. About 70% of respondents had treated MCLCPS-eligible patients in the past 12 months and 55% saw between 2 and 5 patients during this time. The likelihood of treating patients with clefts increased by a factor of 4.8 (95% CI: 1.2-18.9) if practicing outside of a capital city and 1.5 times for each decade increase in orthodontist’s age (95% CI: 1.0-2.2). The MCLCPS was utilized by 81% of orthodontists with 26% of these respondents accepting rebate only. Most orthodontists felt their university training could have better prepared them to treat patients with clefts. A minority of orthodontists felt that a rebate increase would make them more likely to treat these patients. Conclusions: Australian orthodontists who treat patients with clefts tend to be older and work outside of capital cities. The decision to treat these patients tends to not be financially motived. Specialty orthodontic training programs could improve the preparedness of their graduates to treat patients with clefts.

In March of 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak forced people to lock themselves inside their homes and begin the process of transitioning from face-to-face activities at work, schools and universities to a 100 % virtual method. Even when Communication Technologies (ICT) and online platforms have seen growth over the past two decades, including various virtual libraries developed by database publishers or web-based training programs that appear to shorten the learning curve (Lee, Hong y Nian, 2002), many people were unprepared for this transition and all of them are now dedicated to entering the new reality. In this order of ideas, the activities that have traditionally required the assistance of the staff have had to adapt with the use of new tools, which meet daily needs. A clear example is the field work collection tasks. In this group, there are different types such as surveys, photographs, reviews or on-site inspections. The current work presents the use of tools for collecting, validating, analysing and presenting data remotely and in real time. All of them based on the ArcGIS Online platform.

Counsellors routinely work in situations with students, parents and colleagues, where they need to use interpersonal helping and counselling skills. This function has been recently compounded by the emergence of multiple demands which place a new set of challenges on counsellors. Given that many counsellor training programs do not include time-limited counselling techniques, counsellors have traditionally drawn on more problem-focussed, longer-term theories when helping others. This has not always been appropriate or successful. Traditional counselling theories suggest that only highly trained counsellors should be involved in interpersonal helping, simultaneously placing a major emphasis on the clinical nature of problems. This paper presents a relatively new approach to counselling that does not delve intrusively into the past, and is not restricted to professional counsellors. Solution-focussed brief counselling techniques lend themselves well to the education context, and with appropriate attention, can be utilised by counsellors who will become more intentional and f acilitative in their daily interactions.

Chief Sargent, of the Worcester, MA Police Department, is interviewed about his position and perspectives as a chief of police. He discusses his education and the path he took to becoming a chief. Specifically, he discusses working first as a military police officer and his transition into civilian policing. He discusses his advanced training opportunities with the FBI and receiving a degree in criminology. He describes the various positions he has had in law enforcement throughout his career. In addition, he describes changes in policing that have occurred throughout the past decades and how those changes are affecting current policies and initiatives. He further discusses the individuals that work within law enforcement and important characteristics that are essential for those interested in a career in law enforcement. He discusses the implementation of innovative training programs, such as simulators, which aid in preparing officers for different situations. Views about connecting citizens and police and recommendations for researchers are also discussed.

ObjectiveTo better understand how the essential skill of interpreting various neuroimaging studies is taught to neurology residents in Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited training programs.MethodsA 22-question survey was sent electronically to 150 ACGME adult neurology program directors. We collected data regarding the presence of a neuroimaging curriculum, frequency of review sessions and testing, resource availability, and program director confidence in neuroimaging skills of graduating residents. We collected average scores on the neuroimaging section of the Resident In-service Training Examination of graduating residents for the past 3 years, which we attempted to correlate with resource availability.ResultsOne-third of neurology residency programs do not have a neuroimaging curriculum, and half of training programs do not require a neuroimaging rotation. On average, trainees spend 1 hour per week reviewing imaging with radiologists. Program directors believed trainees receive insufficient neuroimaging training, with a median satisfaction rating on a Likert scale (0–100) of 35 (interquartile range 27–47). Few programs take advantage of online training resources.ConclusionOpportunities exist to improve neuroimaging education in neurology resident education. This can be done by closer adherence to the American Academy of Neurology neuroimaging curriculum guidelines, especially by expanding access to online resources and additional emphasis on imaging review with neurology subspecialists.

Stimulated most recently by the reorganization of the post-secondary education systems in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec, the number of formal forest-technician training programs has now increased to 17, two-thirds of them two-year offerings, with several additional courses in prospect for 1969. Enrollments have shown a rather consistent increase over the past six years, as a consequence both of the initiation of 13 new programs during that period and of enlarged student bodies in the older establishments. The number of forest-technician diploma awards reached an all-time high of 472 in 1968, to give a ratio of 4.4 technicians per professional (B.Sc.F.) degree recipient. About two-thirds of the 1968 graduates who entered forestry work were employed by provincial agencies, approximately a fourth were hired by the forest industries, and the balance entered federal service.

In two recent books, From Stonehenge to Las Vegas – Archaeology as popular culture (AltaMira 2005) and Archaeology is a brand! The meaning of archaeology in popular culture (Archaeopress 2007), Cornelius Holtorf wants us to readdress the focus of archaeology from being predominantly a study of the past to becoming a study of its use in popular culture in the present. While I am in general sympathy with the attempt to analyse the role of archaeology in modern popular culture – and his 2007 book especially provides some good examples of that – I am deeply sceptical of Holtorf's theoretical and political programme for archaeology. It represents a dangerous attempt to deconstruct archaeology as a historical discipline in order to allow modern market forces to take over the archaeological heritage and the consumption of the past as popular culture.

Until the seventies, Karl Barth's picture of Ernst Troeltsch (1865–1923) dominated the Anglo-phone reception of Troeltsch. In this reading, Troeltsch is the last of the great liberal protestant theologians who endeavoured to save Christianity by romanticising the Enlightenment. But that was Barth's Troeltsch. The past twenty years of Troeltsch studies have undermined this hegemonic view to recover a proto—postmodern thinker who recognised the profound cultural implications of the epistemological views embedded in modern science as in history and sociology. For Troeltsch the implications of epistemological relativity and historical relativism required the historicisation of the essence of Christianity. It also required a reformulation of the central doctrines of Christian faith; this was Troeltsch's theological project. Finally, it required a search for a modern form of Christian faith which authenticated personal mysticism and achieved normative Christian community life within a broader domain of a secular social democratic polity.
