The validity of a Swedish translation of the Measures of Criminal Attitudes and Associates (MCAA) was evaluated. All four subscales showed acceptable reliability, but the Entitlement scale can be improved by replacing items with low loadings. Confirmatory factor analysis supported a model with one common criminal attitude factor and three subfactors (corresponding to subscales of the test). The Antisocial Intent scale failed to come out as a separate factor. The criterion-related validity was evidenced through offenders having more positive attitudes to criminality than a sample from a public Internet site, a treatment program having an effect on the ratings, and test scores being meaningfully related to criminal history variables. It was concluded that the MCAA has satisfactory psychometric properties.

Positive attitudes towards breastfeeding in health professionals/students have been associated with increasing their confidence to provide support and accompaniment to mothers. In Mexico, there is no valid/reliable tool to assess attitudes towards breastfeeding in this population. The Australian Breastfeeding Attitudes (and Knowledge) Questionnaire (ABAQ) measures attitudes in the Australian population. We aimed to adapt and validate the ABAQ in Mexican health students. We included 264 health students (nursing, nutrition, and medicine) from the University of Guadalajara. Bilingual translators carried out the Spanish adaptation with a reverse translation into English. Experts evaluated the content validity. Reliability was evaluated through an internal consistency analysis (Cronbach’s alpha) and construct validity through convergent–divergent validation, item–total correlation, exploratory factor analysis (by principal components), and confirmatory factor analysis. According to the exploratory factor analysis, only one component was identified. Seven items were removed (low correlation between items ≤0.2 and low factor load ≤0.3). The Cronbach’s alpha was 0.78. According to the confirmatory factor analysis, the one-factor solution of the ABAQ-13Mx showed a good model fit (X2 = 98.41, G = 62, p = 0.02, CFI = 0.940, and RMSEA = 0.048). The ABAQ-13Mx is a reliable and valid instrument for evaluating attitudes towards breastfeeding in Mexican health degree students.

The lack of professional skills in project teams is one of the most important factors contributing to the high failure rate of Information Technology (IT) projects. Therefore, preparing students for increasingly complex IT projects has been an important learning objective in information sciences and technology programs. This article investigates the relationships between face-to-face students' self-efficacy of managing project tasks through online processes and their attitudes toward teamwork. The relationships among student engagement in learning experiences related to teamwork, self-efficacy of technology-mediated teamwork, and attitudes towards teamwork are investigated using confirmatory factor analysis on a data set with 344 participants. The analysis shows that self-efficacy of technology-mediated teamwork mediates the effect of learning engagement on attitudes toward teamwork. Therefore, the article postulates that mastering technology-mediated teamwork skills helps face-to-face students develop positive attitudes toward teamwork, which can be transferred to the workplace.

As dreaming is a universal phenomenon, it seems natural that everyone has a more or less explicitly defined attitude toward dreams. Recent studies indicate that positive and negative attitude toward dream scales—even given there is considerable overlap—might not be related to the same variables. The findings of the present online survey ( N = 2,056) using 22 attitude items indicated that positive and negative attitudes can be differentiated through confirmatory factor analysis and that variables like age, education, and frequent dream recall are differentially associated with positive and negative attitudes toward dreams. It would be very interesting to expand this study to investigate whether other variables, personality dimensions, general skepticism and so on, are associated with positive and negative attitudes toward dreams in different ways.

This study is aimed at investigating the dimensionality of the situational version of the Brief COPE, a questionnaire that is frequently used to assess a broad range of coping responses to specific difficulties, by comparing five different factor models highlighted in previous studies. It also aimed at exploring the relationships among coping responses, personal goal commitment and progress. The study involved 606 adults (male = 289) ranging in age from 19 to 71. Using confirmatory factor analysis, we compared five models and assessed relationships of coping responses with goal commitment and progress. The results confirmed the theoretical factor structure of the situational Brief COPE. All the 14 dimensions showed acceptable reliability and relationships with goal commitment and progress, attesting the reliability and usefulness of this measure to evaluate coping responses to specific events.

The increase in development and progress develops with the speed of the technology wheel and its impact on consumer satisfaction. Reasonably the electronic retail trade has the largest share. This research provides an abundant experience on the Jordanian consumer satisfaction with E- retail trade-in particular after customs facilities. The empirical study consists of 521 questionnaires and analysing the outputs, through which the sites are evaluated on more than one side, to come out with the most important strengths and weak points of the e-retail trade. Each question in the questionnaire is evaluated and assigned a unique loading factor. Four major evaluation metrics have been adopted to investigate the customer’s thoughts on E-retail which includes Reliability, Design, Process, and safety. In addition, factor analysis of the Correlation Matrix with the samples sequence along with Goodness-of-fit indices have been carried out for the experimentation. The obtained insights from the empirical study are also validated using confirmatory factor analysis. Furthermore, to presenting problems with high rates to solve them.

Abstract Purpose. We examined the reliability and validity of the Healthy Fitness Measurement Scale Version 1.0 (HFMS V1.0) specifically on elderly people in China.Methods. We carried out a cross-sectional study in December 2020 and enrolled 800 elderly people through stratified sampling technique. The level of healthy fitness was measured using the HFMS V1.0. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient, split-half reliability, test-retest reliability, convergent and discriminant construct validity, exploratory factor and confirmatory factor were calculated for assessing the reliability and validity of HFMS V1.0.Results. The valid samples were comprised of 777 samples (with a mean age of 71.81 ±8.36 years), 382(49.2 %) were women. HFMS V1.0 consists of 8 dimensions and 38 items. The scale had acceptable reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.920, split-half = 0.946, test-retest = 0.878). The correlation of each item, dimension and subscales ranged from 0.528 to 0.888 (p < 0.001). Exploratory factor analysis uncovered 11 factors with the cumulative contribution rate of 68.09% and all factor loads over 0.40. The item distribution was consistent with the initial expectation of the scale. The confirmatory factor analysis indicated good fit: CMIN/DF=2.773, RMSEA=0.048, IFI=0.915, TLI=0.904, CFI=0.915.Conclusion. HFMS V1.0 was shown to have acceptable reliability and validity. Collectively, HFMS V1.0 is reliable and efficient to measure the healthy fitness of elderly people.

The article reflects the results of one of the stages of the study, which is connected with determining the characteristics of the influence of various factors on the effective test scores. In particular, the connection between the respondents' emotionally-estimated attitude to various forms of responses to test tasks and the results of their implementation is examined. The proposed study was conducted with using of the authors' tests in the field of Ukrainian language. To determine the generalized students' assessment of the forms of answers, proposed in these tests, we used questionnaire, developed according to the method of semantic differential, which allowed to build a profile of the characteristics of the test in accordance with the semantic cognitive space of the sample. The results of respondents' assessment of response forms are generally correlated with test results and can be an additional explanatory element of their analysis and a prognostic element in the process of further designing and applying the tests. The use of factor analysis of the research results allowed: 1) to draw conclusions about the influence of the response forms offered in the test on the respondents' general perception of test tasks regardless of its content; 2) to justify the assumption that the form of test tasks and answers, as an externally organized test constructs, are a sensory afferent stimulus of the operational imagination of the activity, which, in particular, is expressed in the formation of interest and motivation to doing an assignment. An analysis of the respondents' generalized perception of the separate forms of answers showed the need for combining various forms of test tasks and the forms of answers they defined, both for the formation of positive attitudes and the motivational optimum in the process of their implementation, and for verification and refinement the test results.

The purpose of this study was to examine the utility of the Career Decision Profile (CDP; Jones, 1989) for a sample of 133 Afrikaans-speaking students. The scores obtained on all six subscales showed acceptable reliability. The factor structure proposed by Jones for the Career Decision Needs dimension of the CDP was confirmed by means of a confirmatory factor analysis. In conclusion it appears that the CDP may be profitably used for the multidimensional assessment of career indecision with Afrikaans-speaking students.

The present study investigated the following issues: (1) the structure of Bryant's Empathy Index for children and adolescents in a Spanish sample of 408 boys and 424 girls ( M age = 14.4 yr.), and (2) sex differences, including effect sizes and internal consistency of the scale. A principal components factor analysis with oblimin rotation showed that 20 of the index's 22 items load on three robust factors, related to Feelings of Sadness, Understanding Feelings, and Tearful Reaction with regard to the emotions of others. The 3-factor structure obtained an adequate fit to the data in the confirmatory factor analysis. Coefficients alpha ranged between .72 and .78. The 3 factors accounted for 42% of variance. As expected, girls scored higher than boys. It was concluded that the Spanish version of Bryant's Empathy Index has an acceptable reliability and construct validity, making it useful for research.
