Due to the effects of a worldwide outbreak of COVID-19, as in many countries, students in Turkey started to have online education since March 2020. Factors such as their motivation and need for learning, and higher cognitive arousal would make it more difficult for gifted students to become away from schools. In this context, this research aimed to examine the experiences of gifted students during the online education process from their parents’ viewpoint. The data, obtained from 15 parents via telephone interviews, were analyzed by descriptive interpretive approach, one of the qualitative research methods. The validity and reliability of the data were ensured. According to the results, seven categories emerged: reflections on education, advantages, disadvantages, psychological impacts, solutions, observed emotions, and suggestions. The results were discussed in terms of gifted students’ characteristics, previous online education practices, and suggestions for future use of online education for gifted children after the pandemic period.

This study investigated an eleven-year-old boy with multiple exceptionalities. The participant was verbally gifted, learning-disabled in math, and health-impaired. Because of his health impairment, he had received home-bound instruction throughout his elementary school years and had had little contact with formal schooling. Using qualitative research methods, the investigators explored the participant's learning characteristics and educational experiences. Implications of Alec's story for the identification and education of gifted children with disabilities are discussed.

With all the potential capital God gave, it is believed that man will be able to carry out his duties well. Then it is normal for God to place man as ' masterpiece ' of His own universe.     In Shari'ah there is always a balance between the vertical and horizontal dimensions, the ideal and the realistic side, the constant doctrine (the Sabbath) and the Elastic (Murunah), the interests of the world and the Hereafter, the aspect of birth and the inner, interest of individuals and society, and Etc. The principle of benefit is no less important than the principle of balance. This remembers that it was the cause of the point-of-decline, the takeoff and the final goal in the formulation of a law (Maqashid Syari'ah). This research uses qualitative research methods by examining the Library Research related to the opinions of scholars ' followers of Imam Shafi'i on gender issues. Conclusion of the study: women have the same learning opportunities as men, both in material and learning methods, to achieve what is the essential goal of the education process. That is to achieve the perfection of the Insani that comes down to the self-approach (Taqarrub) to God and the realization of happiness in the world and the hereafter.

The PPVT has been used as a screening instrument for evaluating potentially gifted students. It was recently replaced by the PPVT-R. The present study investigated the comparability of the two tests and of Forms L and M of the PPVT-R for 36 gifted students. All validity and reliability indices were statistically significant and ranged from .57 to .75. When means of various forms were compared the F ratio was significant, but the Newman-Keuls post hoc procedure identified only one statistically significant contrast, namely, the mean PPVT IQ was significantly higher than the mean PPVT-R, Form L, standard score.

Online education has become well established as an avenue for flexible access to educational opportunities. Those who teach qualitative research methods online may find it difficult to locate research or best practice literature to inform practice. A scoping review was conducted to identify and synthesize the literature about teaching qualitative research methods courses online. Eleven peer-reviewed journal articles were identified through a scoping review of the literature. The TPACK framework, which defines teacher knowledge in terms of technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge, was used as a conceptual framework. Results from this scoping review indicate that online qualitative research methods educators choose course goals, instructional modules, and topics in a manner consistent with instructional design approaches. Pedagogical approaches included orientation strategies, strategic use of instructional media, online discussions, applied research activities, and writing projects. Technology was used for course management, to develop content, for communication, and to enable online teaching strategies in an online environment. The literature informs teaching practice in qualitative research methods education, but more research is needed to develop knowledge in this under explored area.

As lighting researchers we can learn from our colleagues in the humanities who have progressed qualitative research methods to a high level of rigour. We should consider using qualitative research methods more. Such methods allow exploration of complex issues involving human views and behaviour, and help researchers address difficult to answer questions that otherwise go unanswered. Good quality qualitative research can provide rich explanations of what went on in a given situation. Validity and reliability are considered differently with this type of research methodology. This paper attempts to identify when qualitative research is appropriate, what questions it can answer in lighting research, how it is done, list the features and provide a simple brief example of a post occupancy evaluation case study. It is argued that qualitative research can be used with quantitative research; before quantitative research to inform it or afterwards to explain it; but it can also be extremely informative in itself and act as a catalyst for change to readers who can see the outcomes in a context that applies to them.
