Lighting controls: a field study of office workers’ reactions

This paper reports a qualitative study of the acceptability of lighting control systems by 41 French office workers, in three sites with dimmable lighting, respectively with manual, semi-manual, and automatic control. The analysis of the results aimed to determine the characteristics of an ideal lighting control system. It appeared that the occupants found automatic continuous daylight-linked systems discreet, but they needed to be able to override them. The complexity of the remote control has led occupants to under-exploit it. Many occupants chose lower artificial light levels when daylight was bright, in order to benefit more from daylight. Automatic dimming with manual choice of illuminance level, optional task lighting, and user friendly control, may be the key elements of an ideal lighting control system.

<p>Currently, energy saving requires the development of simple and efficient street lighting control systems. In order to create such a control system, it is necessary to develop an original principle of its operation. They considered the advantages of electronic starting devices in street lighting control systems. They performed the analysis of the existing state of street lighting means, their shortcomings and solutions have been determined, and they developed the method of lighting device automatic control. They performed the assessment of the economic effect from loss reduction associated with reactive power and due to power reduction during deep night. They presented the example of economic effect achievement from the use of an electronic starting device with automatic power reduction.</p>

Background/Objectives: It is a common for existing golf courses to manage all lighting facilities in batches because it is hard to controllighting individually. That is very much part of the golf courses and forces the whole golf course to light on even though play was finished due to the difficulty of real time checking situationMethods/Statistical analysis: Lighting control device and method in this study are provided not only to control remotely individual lighting installed each hole in golf course but to inspect failure of lighting. There is no longer to stay golf course in person to control lighting system.Findings:Lighting control device and method to be able to control individual lighting installed each hole in golf course is provided to response for the problem in a waste of electricity after playing. Media remote control or wireless (LAN) is a growing need for human behavior that want to move faster and farther range of location of residence. This research will be designed and built a prototype system controlling lights at home using Arduino microcontroller connected to mobile devices based on Android. Light control is done on a mobile device that is connected to the control system via WiFi Router lights. Wifi Router has sufficient coverage so that the owners of these devices can move more comfortably without having to control the lights via a switch on the wall of the house. The house lights controller circuit can adjust the lights ON and OFF as well as the Bright and Dim the lamp 1 and lamp 2. Lighting Control Application on mobile android devices already can set the lights on the control circuit.

In view of the inefficiency and the poor flexibility of the recent intelligent lighting control system, this paper proposes a new control method starting from sensor, controller and LED driver circuit, meanwhile connecting with the Internet of things technologies. The most striking feature of this control is that it is refactored in the aspect of the whole system, which can reach the purposes of scene control, timing control, multi-zone control and remote control, etc. This paper also elaborates the hardware circuit design and the working principle of the control system and the method to realize the remote control. The system can operate simply, control efficiently, transmit reliably, manage easily.

The analysis of the use of drives of mobile and transport robots is given. Various options for design solutions are considered, including the main selected drive of a mobile platform with four Omni-wheels, ensuring maximum mobility and maneuverability. Masses and ground clearance of vehicles of various classes are estimated to determine the overall dimensions of the mobile platform in terms of height and carrying capacity. It has been established that the necessary elements of a mobile platform are universal mounting plates and trailed equipment.The control systems of two variants have been developed. The first is automatic, for an autonomous mobile platform, and the second is for remote control. Control systems include 3 microcontrollers, 5 drivers, 6 motors, 4 sensors. The position of the mobile platform can be controlled by the operator remotely using a mobile application. Power supply of the MP is carried out from its own battery, from the car network or an external network. An algorithm for the operation of the control system for different versions is proposed. 3D models of the mobile platform and suspension unit models have been developed. Calculations of the lifting mechanism of the MP are given. The layout of the nodes of the mobile platform is presented.

Today's Industrial Control Applications are done by Remote Process only. Lab VIEW Software plays major role in Industrial Monitoring and control systems. In this paper i am going to discuss about Lab View based induction motor drive control system. It is One of the most common applications required in remote control and monitoring. Drive control system has various types of controller, in order to perform some actions such as control the speed, forward and reverse turning direction of the motor. This approach can be done by Lab VIEW programming, and with the rise of the technology, Ethernet module will be used in order to achieve the remote control system. Lab VIEW is a human machine interfaces design software that is user friendly. It can be easily communicate with different hardware.

A novel type of a user-friendly "man-to-TV set" interface has been designed for the new generation of digital TV sets with many hundreds of channels. It consists of an optimised remote-control device and a system of menus appearing on the TV screen. Response of potential users has been tested on the groups of students of different age and education, including seniors. Positive results have shown that the new TV control system can be used in practice.

The analysis of modern tendencies related to “Smart House” technologies is carried out in this article. The questions of programming languages of microcontrollers and microprocessors are considered. Software products that are used to create mobile applications for smartphones or tablets are presented. A computer system for remote control of room lighting is considered. The design and principle of its operation are shown schematically. A prototype of a computer system that has the following functions: 1) Control, on / off, lighting systems, depending on the needs of the owner of the premises. 2) Transfer of information about the level of illumination to the user, the owner of the premises. 3) Automatic switching on / off of electric, electroluminescent light sources, which are included in the room lighting control system. Photo of the prototype is shown. The principle of operation of the system control program based on the use of a photoresistor is presented. The Arduino microcontroller receives and processes information from the photoresistor, on the basis of which it automatically sends signals to the room lighting control system. The formulas for calculating the illumination using the results of the data obtained from the photoresistor of the prototype are given. The processed information, using wireless networks, goes to the interactive devices of the user, who can remotely check the value of illumination and, if necessary, control it. The visual interface of a mobile application for mobile phones and tablets using the Android operating system is presented. A computer system for controlling the lighting of premises, which is easy to use and does not require significant financial costs, is considered and analyzed. The methods of modeling, observation and research of computer systems are used in the work. The obtained results allow obtaining an effective computer system for remote control of indoor lighting.

Sistem control lampu yang dioperasikan dengan menggunakan remote control untuk menggerakkan relay sehingga lampu yang terhubung akan menyala dan padam. Feeding fish is the most important thing in raising fish, with regular feeding to fish the fish will be able to continue to breed, In general, the process of feeding still requires human resources that are still manual, so that it will be difficult and disrupt human activity itself, if the process carried out must spread the food in the aquarium when someone is not in place, Therefore, currently IOT (Internet of Thing) technology has been developed which can facilitate human activities with remote control systems. The process of feeding with a remote control system is done using android, so as to simplify and save someone's time in the process of feeding without having to be in place. The control system used is Arduino ESP8266 as a single board micro controller platform, so that the control device can function to connect the WI-FI network. The process of connecting an Arduino ESP8266 device with a smartphone is done using the broker as hosting, the broker used was MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport), MQTT is a protocol that runs on the TCP / IP stack and is designed specifically for machine to machine that does not have a specific address. MQTT broker's working system is to implement publish as data sender, subcribe as data recipient, and topic as hosting data broker.
