New hardware technological developments have broadened the scope of anthropometric research by allowing easier, more precise and more comprehensive collection of quantitative information in three–dimensional (3D) form. This information will provide better design and evaluation information for protective equipment and clothing, better modelling information for workspace design, and more accurate information for the biomechanical evaluation of designs. In addition, the ability to identify the surface more precisely allows for the investigation of relationships, in numerical form, between surface and subsurface anatomy on living people. This could have clinical as well as research application. The goal of this session is to provide a forum for exchange of information on the new developments, research and application in the area of 3D anthropometry. One paper presented here discusses devices available for 3D data collection, and their pros and cons for various applications. Also discussed is the new statistical and graphical technology needed for understanding and use of the huge collections of information which result with 3D data collection, as well as methods used in 3D modelling and examples of current 3D research efforts.

Technological developments and changes in government systems are developing rapidly. Both of these lead to efforts to carry out duties, protect functions and serve the community. This encourages the government to take various adjustment steps quickly in line with the dynamics of development that occur. One of them is through a population census. The population census is an important issue that must be handled properly. The population census in this study takes population data in an area based on the number of male population, female population, ratio, and population density. The data was taken and submitted to the Makassar City Statistics Agency. Population Census is a presentation of information that has the ability to present accurate information, and helps facilitate the search for a population census data. The population census is carried out every 5 years which is carried out by census officers to carry out data collection to each resident's house, the data collection process is carried out by conventional recording and submitting it to the central statistics agency for database entry. With this application, it is expected to provide convenience to Population census officers to perform the process of inputting population data and the data is directly stored in the database without having to return to the office to input again.

Density three dimensional plant canopy structure data has numerous applications in agriculture, but many existing 3D data collection approaches are time-consuming. In this paper, we present a measurement system based on structured-light for plant canopy structure data collection. The structured-light projector projects laser beam reflected by dual-oscillating mirror, arrives to the plant canopy, which is captured by a camera. We propose a new scanning mode, that is, during one exposure time of CCD camera, one mirror keeps moving in high frequency and small angle, while the other one maintains the same position, so that we can get a laser stripe rather than a spot in each image, from which about 100 sub-pixel centers of laser stripe can be extracted. Experiments show that the measurement system can rapid collect three dimensional information of the plant.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop a method for defining and categorizing upper lateral somatotypes for clothing size systems used for clothing pattern creation based on directional angles of 3D space vectors. Design/methodology/approach – 3D data for 317 men in their twenties obtained from the fifth Size Korea survey were used in this study. Standard landmarks and surfaces were set on the 3D shapes, and six space vector angles of the lateral form were defined and measured. Relationships among the measurement results were clarified, and the results were compared with those obtained using existing classifying methods. Findings – The measurement of the defined directional angles indicated that the swayback type and bend-forward type had the two extreme values, and the straight type was between the two values. The analysis of the correlation between six directional angles indicated that some points in the lower area of the upper body had a high correlation with other points in the lower area. Researchlimitations/implications – The subjects of this study were limited to lateral somatotypes, and there is a need for future studies that focus on frontal somatotypes. This research is confined to the upper lateral somatotypes of men in their twenties. Further study is needed to extend the results of this study to other body types such as those of elderly and overweight persons. Practical implications – Major angle measurements quantified by the somatotypes can be specifically reflect in developing and revised to the right patterns which is spread body shell replica or individual pattern for MTM. Social implications – This objective somatotype analysis method can be involved in determining individual body somatotype of ordermade clothes or can provided the accurate information interactively to MTM automatic customized pattern making system. Originality/value – Accurate measurements of size, shape, and posture were applied and characterized to realize the process. Accuracy was improved compared to existing 2D analysis methods through three-dimensional analysis using directional space vector angles based on 3D forms.

The pulsatile blood flow field in a patient-specific pathology of a large Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) is being simulated, both pre and post interventionally. The anatomies of the aortic wall and blood lumen have been derived by digitized Computerized Tomography (CT) scans. Three dimensional unsteady computational fluid dynamics simulations have provided a comprehensive collection of quantitative information on the haemodynamics and the flow features that present themselves in both the temporal and spatial spaces. The focus lies on alterations in the haemodynamics triggered by the interventional procedure itself, which consists of the endoluminal introduction of a stent-graft. Significant information may also be deduced concerning the hydrodynamic loading of such implants. Computational tools of this nature, along with the non-invasive CT or Magnetic Resonance (MR) aortic imaging techniques, could enable an objective assessment of the possible effects of any interventional scenario in a virtual noninvasive environment both proximally and distally to the diseased region.

In the process of collecting researchdata, of course we can do the management of questionnaires as well as the preparation ofinterview guidelines to disseminate and obtain accurate information. With the arrangement ofplanning and conducting interviews: the ethics of conducting interviews, the advantages anddisadvantages of interviews, the formulation of interview questions, the schedule of interviews,group and focus group interviews, interviews using recording devices, and interview bias.making a questionnaire must be designed with very good management by giving to theinformation needed, in accordance with the problem and all that does not cause problems at thestage of analysis and interpretation.

Traditional research methods are inadequate to predict and explain consumer behavior accurately in some cases. Marketing discipline tries to benefit from new technological developments in order to make up the deficiency subjects’ competence and willingness to express how they feel when they face with stimulus in traditional data collection method has an effect on the success of the method. In traditional methods, subjects often cannot remember or know the correct answer, or even if they know the answer they will give answers that satisfy the researcher. The inadequacy in traditional techniques has driven the researchers to evaluate theconsumer response more accurately. It is observed that in recent years neuromarketing techniques began to be used extensively to measure consumer responses accurate in marketing field. Although neuromarketing is commonly used in marketing field, there are some questions about the efficiency of the method. This study emphasizes the efficiency on the general evaluation of neuromarketing techniques and criticism of it. The aim of this study is to indicate the historical development of application of neuro science on marketing and consumer behavior, and to establish the future of neuro science, its opportunities and threats.

This study was part of broader PhD research which investigated how access to, and use of, information enhances adaptation to climate change and variability in the agricultural sector in semi-arid Central Tanzania. The research was carried out in two villages using Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovations theory and model to assess the dissemination of this information and its use by farmers in their adaptation of their farming practices to climate change and variability. This predominantly qualitative study employed a post-positivist paradigm. Some elements of a quantitative approach were also deployed in the data collection and analysis. The principal data collection methods were interviews and focus group discussions. The study population comprised farmers, agricultural extension officers and the Climate Change Adaptation in Africa project manager. Qualitative data were subjected to content analysis whereas quantitative data were analysed to generate mostly descriptive statistics using SPSS.  Key findings of the study show that farmers perceive a problem in the dissemination and use of climate information for agricultural development. They found access to agricultural inputs to be expensive, unreliable and untimely. To mitigate the adverse effects of climate change and variability on farming effectively, the study recommends the repackaging of current and accurate information on climate change and variability, farmer education and training, and collaboration between researchers, meteorology experts, and extension officers and farmers. Moreover, a clear policy framework for disseminating information related to climate change and variability is required.

The denoising of a natural signal/image corrupted by Gaussian white noise is a classical problem in signal/image processing. However, it is still in its infancy to denoise high dimensional data. In this paper, we extended Sendur and Selesnick's bivariate wavelet thresholding from two-dimensional (2D) image denoising to three-dimensional (3D) data cube denoising. Our study shows that bivariate wavelet thresholding is still valid for 3D data cubes. Experimental results show that bivariate wavelet thresholding on 3D data cube is better than performing 2D bivariate wavelet thresholding on every spectral band separately, VisuShrink, and Chen and Zhu's 3-scale denoising.
