In this article, we investigate the problem of personal message acquisition optimization for intelligent apparatus in the space information network. The quality of experience for persons during achieving the synthetical message rapidly and exactly through the apparatus is significant to the apparatus layout. In this article, we presented a quality of experience–oriented synthetical statistical analysis optimization approach for the personal message acquisition for intelligent apparatus. The main contribution is that the mathematical analysis is combined with the statistical data for the assessment of the personal message acquisition to overcome some drawbacks in the existing works. Experiments verified that the presented approach could make the personal message acquisition with much higher quality of experience.

Abstract In space information networks, satellites are generally in high speed orbit motion. In order to obtain better spacial and temporal coverage performance, satellites should cooperate with each other as a constellation. Previous works on constellations mainly focus on global seamless coverage using fewer satellites. However, like most countries, it is hard for China to build ground stations in overseas, and the geostationary Earth orbit position resource is scarce. In this paper, we investigate the constellation design problem with restricted ground supporting. We first proposes a “backbone network + enhanced network” hybrid constellation design approach. Then a hybrid “4GEO+5IGSO” constellation is designed using the proposed approach, and the coverage performance of this constellation is analyzed in detail. Simulation results show the proposed approach can realize global seamless coverage only using a small number of satellites. Furthermore, the proposed hybrid constellation meets the coverage demand only relies on ground stations inside China.

This article is based on the results of research which the aim is to find out how is mapping of the education information dissemination network in the community of Cintaratu village, Pangandaran district. The reason for choosing the topic was that Padjadjaran University (Unpad) campus is in the village and it is assumed that the presence of the university in the village could improve the quality of education of its people. To confirm this assumption, it is necessary to map the education sector information network. We use qualitative methods which approach is a descriptive study, the researchers conducted a mapping of educational information dissemination. The main informants of this study are the community and village officials. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, passive participatory observation, and literature studies. The finding of the research are as follows, 1) the initial mapping of educational information dissemination to the community was carried out through direct communication, namely through two major activities - recitation and celebration; 2) recitation and celebration are two activities that are susceptible to physical noise-causing information related to education not conveyed properly to the public. Effective communication does not occur in these two activities.

Aiming at the complex structure of the space information networks (SIN) and the dynamic change of network topology, in order to design an efficient routing strategy, this paper establishes a SIN management architecture based on Software-defined Networking (SDN). A routing algorithm flow of the spatial information network based on a snapshot sequence is designed. For different spatial tasks with different Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, the concept of integrated link weight is proposed. The Warshall–Floyd algorithm is used to design the optimal routing strategy. A Task-oriented Bandwidth Resource Allocation (TBA) algorithm is proposed for multiple spatial tasks in the same link. Simulation results show that the algorithm can effectively guarantee the priority transmission of important tasks and avoid the unnecessary waste of bandwidth resources.

The space information networks are easy to be disturbed and destroyed, which is due to their hostile operational environments and results in a decrease in network quality of service. Given their characteristics, a distributed topology failure diagnosis scheme composed of failure detection node election and failure diagnosis is proposed. First, a proper number of nodes are elected to detect faults in a coordinated and distributed way by using minimum dominating set algorithm. Then elected diagnosis nodes detect faults around based on the theory of dependency-graph. The technology of minimum Huffman tree is used to preliminarily locate failures and on that base the further location is fulfilled through sending detection messages on purpose. Simulation results from NS2 demonstrate that high accurate diagnosis rate can be reached at the expense of low cost by this failure diagnosis algorithm.

An information network is a structure used for transmitting various forms and types of information. In basic structure, it consists of branches that connect certain nodes. Many scientists and researchers have dealt with the problem of defining an information network, depending on the functional organization and data transmission, and also with the classification of information networks.  Information networks have a very wide application in almost all scientific disciplines. A large number of researches are carried out on the application of information networks (e.g. bisociative, deep information network, heterogeneous information network, and space information network) in the field of medicine for easier detection of diseases, drug development, etc, and other needs to support real-time communication, massive data transmission, and data processing. In accordance with the above mentioned, the aim of this paper is to offer different approaches in defining and classifying general forms of information networks and to notice their wide application in different research disciplines.

Este trabajo representa una nueva alternativa para el estudio, clasificación y comparación de la producción científica de centros de investigación, utilizando las funciones de tratamiento de datos del paquete Citan del software estadístico R. En particular, se muestra el análisis bibliométrico de las publicaciones de las universidades de A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela y Vigo, en el periodo 2000-2011, recopiladas por la base de datos Scopus. Entre las técnicas usadas se aplicaron modelos de Lotka y Price, modelización no paramétrica y paramétrica de los datos, así como el cálculo y análisis de indicadores de la cantidad y calidad de la producción científica, los índices h y g, y otros menosconocidos como los rp1, lp, Ge1, Ge5 y Slp1. Como novedad, se propone una variante del índice h (hh) que define el grupo de investigadores que forman la élitemás productiva de cada universidad y estima su calidad investigadora.AbstractThis work represents a new alternative for the study, classification and comparison of the scientific production corresponding to research entities. It consists on the application of statistical data processing functions available in the R software’s Citan package. In particular, the bibliometric study of publications of universities of A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo, in the period 2000-2011, compiled by the Scopus database. The study was conducted using the statistical  analysis of the data, the application of models of Lotka and Price, nonparametric and parametric modeling (Pareto) of the data, and the calculation and analysis of indicators of the scientific production like the h and g indexes, and others lesser known as rp1, lp, Ge1, Ge5 and Slp1. A novelty consists in a variant of the h index (hh) that defines the group of researchers who are the most productive of each university, the elite, and estimates the researching quality of such representative elites.

Abstract Background: Research in the field of proteomics to discover markers for detection of cancer has produced disappointing results, with few markers gaining US Food and Drug Administration approval, and few claims borne out when subsequently tested in rigorous studies. What is the role of better mathematical or statistical analysis in improving the situation? Content: This article examines whether a recent successful Netflix-sponsored competition using mathematical analysis to develop a prediction model for movie ratings of individual subscribers can serve to improve studies of markers in the field of proteomics. Netflix developed a database of movie preferences of individual subscribers using a longitudinal cohort research design. Groups of researchers then competed to develop better ways to analyze the data. Against this background, the strengths and weaknesses of research design are reviewed, contrasting the Netflix design with that of studies of biomarkers to detect cancer. Such biomarker studies generally have less-strong design, lower numbers of outcomes, and greater difficulty in even just measuring predictors and outcomes, so the fundamental data that will be used in mathematical analysis tend to be much weaker than in other kinds of research. Conclusions: If the fundamental data that will be analyzed are not strong, then better analytic methods have limited use in improving the situation. Recognition of this situation is an important first step toward improving the quality of clinical research about markers to detect cancer.

Background/Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of exercise commitment facilitated by service quality of smartphone exercise Apps on continued exercise intention and provide primary data for developing and/or improving smartphone exercise Apps. Methods/Statistical analysis: A questionnaire survey was conducted amongst college students who have experiences in using exercise App(s) and regularly exercise. The questionnaire is composed of four parts asking about service quality, exercise commitment, continued exercise intention, which were measured with a 5-point Likert Scale, and demographics. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were carried out to analyze the obtained data with PASW 18.0.

Statistical analyses were applied to data from a series of 38 samples collected in an aerobic treatment plant from November 1989 to December 1990. Relationships between microfauna structure and plant operating conditions were found. Amount and quality of microfauna groups and species found in activated sludge proved useful to suggest the possible causes of disfunctions.
