First person – Fatemeh Mazloumi Gavgani
ABSTRACTFirst Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Fatemeh Mazloumi Gavgani is joint first author on ‘Nuclear upregulation of class I phosphoinositide 3-kinase p110β correlates with high 47S rRNA levels in cancer cells’, published in JCS. Fatemeh conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Aurélia E. Lewis's lab at the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Bergen, Norway. She is now a postdoc in the lab of Fabian Rentzsch at the Sars International Centre for Marine Molecular Biology, Bergen, Norway, investigating the molecular mechanisms of neuronal regeneration.
