Introduction Training on “Ecology and Industrial Safety” Chair of Bauman  Moscow State Technical University

The first introduction training with third-year students of "Ecology and Industrial Safety" Chair (Bauman Moscow State Technical University) is described in this paper. This training includes the acquaintance with various profile enterprises, dangerous and harmful factors of production and measures for their elimination. This group of enterprises includes the specialized productions ensuring the technosphere safety (sewage and waste treatment, atmosphere emissions) as well. The main questions of this training’s organization and carrying out are considered as follows: insight into the program, carrying out excursions on the enterprise, preparation and protection of reports. Knowledge and experience, received during the training, are used further at a choice of subject related to term projects and graduation works and their performance.

Risks of technogenic and natural character are actual threats of safety of Russia now and in the nearest future. For effective formation of skills related to person’s behavior in crisis situations it is a good practice to use widely information technologies based on computer modeling, use of geographical information systems, virtual reality elements. For training and professional development of specialists who are responsible for health and safety and civil defense, training of bachelors and masters in the “Technosphere safety “direction 280700, carrying out scientific researches in the area of protection against threats of technogenic and natural character, exercise of officials’ functional duties on emergency prevention and elimination, and fire safety ensuring, operational staff on emergency elimination, an operational duty shift an educational and scientific center of management in crisis situations (CMCS) is created at "Ecology and Industrial Safety" Chair”1 of Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The center can become an important element related to assumed deployment of pilot network of centers of control in crisis situations for ensuring complex safety on science and education objects.

Opening Up

For the third time T.F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical University is holding an event important for Russian mining science and education, expanding the boundaries of interaction between scientists and practice experts, opening up new opportunities for joint discussion of the most urgent problems of mineral resources sector development in Russia and other countries. The vector of discussions of the Third Mining Symposium is aimed at solving the pressing problem of extracting sector of economy and raw material clusters development – ensuring environmental and industrial safety. Today, this largely determines the benchmarks of the innovative development of mining and deep processing of minerals, recycling of mining waste, import substitution of modern equipment for enterprises of the mineral resources sector. Currently, issues of environmental and industrial safety go far beyond the regulatory framework, turning into a comprehensive engineering, educational and social-and-economic discourse, forming a new agenda and culture of interaction between science and production, a new league of representatives of the international community of technical universities.

The report gives current status overview of how the digital technologies integration evolves in the educational process as well as gives brief overview of the whole educational activities of Ecology and Industrial Safety department in Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The most attention is payed to the development and introduction of the online course Life safety in the educational process and done using Open BMSTU platform and the educational portal of the department е9.bmstu.ru. The contents and the structure of course are presented. The peculiarities of the work at online course are pointed out. The forms of online presentations, access for authorized teachers and students and control tests are considered. The procedure of the creation of video lectures and introductions to laboratory works is briefly depicted. Other components of the educational portal including online video library of the department, laboratory works online timetable, life safety course online introduction videos to the laboratory works are also presented.

The article continues the series of publications on the organization and conduct of introduction practical trainingat the Department of Ecology and Industrial Safety of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University for third-year bachelors in 2016, taking into account the concluded Agreements on cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Measures of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, the Institute of Marine Biological Research named after A. O. Kovalevsky of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sevastopol State University in the cities of Moscow and Sevastopol. Nine students of Bauman Moscow State Technical Universityhad practice in Sevastopol, four students of the Sevastopol University — in Moscow. Opened in the Bauman Moscow State Technical University profile of training “Protection in Emergencies” caused the need to expand the list of practice sites at the expense of institutions of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. The modern need for engineering and consulting services in the field of technospheresafaty necessitated introduction of students to the state and commercial organizations in these areas of activity. It is shown how the practice fulfills the educational function by acquaintance with Russian history and natural objects of Russia.
