Abstract Objective Suicide is a global public health concern. It is the second leading cause of death among 15 to 29 years old. Suicide ideation often emerges in adolescence and is prevalent among this age group. With the help of leaders, teachers as mentors can play an effective role in the prevention of suicide among children and young adults. The present study was performed to assess the effectiveness of school-based teaching programs on knowledge regarding the recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior among school teachers. Materials and Methods A quantitative research approach with a pre-experimental (one group pre-test and post-test) research design was adopted. The study was conducted at Government schools of East Sikkim among 80 secondary school teachers. The samples were assigned through the purposive sampling technique. A pre-designed knowledge questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge of schoolteachers. A pre-test was conducted during the first week of data collection, which was followed by a school-based teaching program regarding recognition and management of adolescents' suicidal behavior on the second week. A post-test was conducted during the fourth week using the same pre-designed knowledge questionnaire. Data analysis was done using the SPSS version 25 applying descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Results The study findings revealed that in pre-test knowledge score, 5% had good knowledge, whereas in post-test, score 50% had good knowledge regarding recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior. The mean score during the pre-test was 12.78 ± 2.87 and the mean score during the post-test was 16.44 ± 2.50. The computed paired “t” value (11.9) was higher than the tabled value (t79 = 1.99; p < 0.05). An association was found between pre-test knowledge score regarding recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior with gender, religion, and years of working experience at p < 0.05 level. Conclusion The study concluded that school-based teaching programs helped secondary school teachers to improve their knowledge regarding adolescents' suicidal behavior. The gain in knowledge from the school-based teaching program will help them recognize and manage adolescents with suicidal behavior and initiate appropriate referrals in the future.

Medical humanity is an essential element of medical education, and the respective courses are introduced to the curricula of medical schools worldwide. However, significant differences in this type of medical education were identified in Italy, Spain, and the UK. In Poland, this issue was not yet analyzed. The classes offered on a compulsory and not elective basis secure the uniform skills of future physicians. Therefore, we were prompted to ask a question: do Polish medical students receive equal compulsory education in medical humanities? To answer that question, we performed a content analysis of mandatory classes’ frequency, types, and content on medical humanization and communication in Polish medical schools. The study used publicly available information provided on the home pages of the universities to perform content and comparative analyses. Of 22 identified universities, 15 had publicly listed teaching programs, and nine had freely available syllabi. The names and types of courses varied from school to school. The number of hours the courses offered throughout medical education ranged from 15 to 216. In some medical schools, the classes were scheduled during the early, pre-clinical part of the study, whereas in other schools they were offered each year. The content of the courses always covered the topics of physician–patient communication but rarely offered protocols, such as the Calgary Cambridge guide. We conclude that the medical humanities represented by medical humanization and communication courses are included in the publicly available compulsory curriculum of most Polish medical schools. However, to secure equal education of future Polish physicians, there is a need to unify the medical humanities program.

Buildings, classrooms and concert halls should be designed with attention to be in a form that can have acoustic properties. With the advancement of technology and the discovery of new materials, important developments have begun to emerge in building materials. While all these developments (strength, flexibility, bendability, etc.) generally reflect positively on the properties of the material, they may cause some disadvantages, especially in terms of insulation and acoustics. However, the slow progress of the legislation related to insulation causes the development speed of the studies on building materials to decrease. Insulation is of great importance, especially in terms of achieving the purpose of educational buildings with musical functions. In this study, information was provided about wool, which is a textile material, and felt obtained from wool. Evaluations were made about the usability of wool and felt in music education environments. Keywords: Wool, felt, music education, ınsulation, textile

AbstractMusculoskeletal pain is a major concern in our life due to its negative effects on our ability to perform daily functions. During COVID-19 pandemic, several countries switched their teaching programs into e-learning, where students spend long hour using electronic devices. The use of these devices was associated with several musculoskeletal complains among the students. The aim of this study is to evaluate the different body aches associated with e-learning on university students. The subjects of this study were students from An-Najah University in Palestine. 385 questionnaires were filled using Google forms questionnaire and all the subjects were using e-learning due to COVID-19 pandemic. Our study showed that a large percentage of participants used electronic devices for e-learning during the pandemic. The Duration of these devices use was correlated with duration and degree of pain, and associated with the difficulty in ability to perform several daily activities. Furthermore, most of the students used the sitting position with supine bent forward during the device usage. Thus, the university students that participated in this study had an increase in body aches during the e-learning process, and the aches duration and severity increases if the duration of electronic devices usage increase.

With the transition to the digital age, changes have emerged in the skills expected from the individuals of the 21st century, and accordingly, the preparation of curricula to develop these skills has become the main goal of all countries in the world. In our country, studies have been carried out to develop curricula in this direction, and with this research, it is aimed to examine the secondary education mathematics (2010, 2011, 2013 and 2017) and geometry (2011) teaching programs in the context of 21st century skills. The research is a survey study aimed at examining the secondary school mathematics and geometry course curriculum in terms of 21st century skills. As the data source of the research, secondary school mathematics course and secondary school geometry course curricula shared on the official website of the Ministry of National Education were taken. Document analysis method was used in the collection and analysis of data in the research in which these teaching programs were accepted as documents. Curriculums specified within the scope of document analysis were analyzed with descriptive analysis method based on 21st century skills within the scope of Partnership for 21st Century Learning [P21]. The skills included in the curricula were supported by direct quotations from the curricula. According to the results of this research, it has been determined that the curriculum is not qualified to cover all 21st century skills. The fact that media literacy, leadership and responsibility skills are not included in the curriculum, and that the evaluation elements of the programs are insufficient in the context of 21st century skills are among the remarkable results. The findings obtained at the end of the research were discussed with the support of the literature and suggestions were made for future research.

Case studies provide helpful teaching tools to capture the complexity of administrative problems from an action-oriented perspective. With increasingly complex policy problems at hand, more interdisciplinary, interactive, and discursive approaches to teaching are also in demand. However, the case method offers a broad variety of options for teaching programs, ranging from short case illustrations or vignettes to full-length case studies. Attached to various types of case materials are different didactic approaches that pursue different pedagogic logics and are likely to make different contributions to in-classroom teaching. The case method in teaching public administration, however, comes at a cost and requires extra capacity, higher time budgets as well as new qualifications and roles of teachers plus a good fit of student (self)-selection and teaching objectives. If meaningfully utilized, it enhances our capacity to prepare (future) executives for complex environments.
