Abstract: Material selection and innovative and creative designs are needed as a medium for reducing production costs by changing the design of a product but still paying attention to the safety of its users. The problem that occurs in the surrounding community is the lack of public knowledge about the selection of materials that can risk accidents that will be experienced by users which can be caused by the material not being strong enough to support the load it gets. Innovative and creative design aims to reduce the mass of the material but still refers to user safety. Inappropriate design can increase the risk of accidents and wasted costs in the production process. The method used in this community service is a material selection workshop and an introduction to machine design using solidworks software. Therefore, this community service will greatly help the community in the Karang-tempel Village, East Semarang District, increase their insight into the selection of materials and innovative designs as an increase in the quality of production and ensure the safety of users.          Keywords: creative; desain; inovative; material selection; workshop Abstrak: Pemilihan material dan desain yang inovatif dan kreatif sangat diperlukan sebagai media pengurangan biaya produksi dengan merubah rancangan suatu produk akan tetapi tetap memperhatikan keselamatan dari penggunanya. Permasalahan yang terjadi di masyarakat sekitar akan kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pemilihan material yang dapat berisiko akan terjadinya kecelakaan yang akan dialami pengguna yang dapat disebabkan oleh material tidak cukup kuat untuk menopang beban yang didapatkannya. Desain yang inovatif dan kreatif bertujuan sebagai pengurangan massa dari material akan tetapi tetap merujuk kepada keselamatan pengguna. Desain yang tidak sesuai dapat meningkatkan risiko kecelakaan dan pemborosan biaya pada proses produksi. Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah workshop pemilihan material dan pengenalan rancang bangun mesin menggunakan software solidworks. Oleh karena itu pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini akan sangat membantu mas-yarakat di lingkungan kelurahan Karang-tempel, kecamatan Semarang Timur untuk menambah     wawasannya terhadap pemilihan material dan desain yang inovatif sebagai peningkatan kualitas hasil produksi dan menjamin keselamatan dari pengguna.Kata kunci: desain; inovatif; kreatif; pemilihan material; workshop

Business organisations are attempting to transform themselves according to the paradigms of Industry 4.0. This chapter presents the case of Tapfrsh kiosk, an internet of things (IoT)-based beverage service platform for urban communities. It discusses the business ecosystem, system design, technology usage, machine design, aesthetics, and operational aspects of the Tapfrsh kiosk. The authors include a critical commentary on the kiosk using a multidimensional lens. Entrepreneurial insights are discussed.

The paper is devoted to the problem of optimal machine design selection by developing and solving the problem of multi-criteria optimisation, using the method suggesting a unified criterion with the use of weighting factors based on expert estimates. Based on the example of the design of a multi-purpose machine for service electric transport, a mathematical model of parametric optimisation of the design of electric and combined propulsion plants is developed. The most efficient system components are selected to meet the customer's requirements.

<p class="icsmheading1"><em>Seeing the situation of animal feed needs which tend to increase every year, it must be accompanied by the procurement of production machines to reduce the productivity of corn. Corn sheller machine is a tool that serves to release corn kernels from the cob. Along with technological developments that continue to progress, many production machines have sprung up such as corn shellers ranging from those that are operated manually to automatic. Each machine has different advantages and disadvantages. In the design of this corn sheller machine the main driver uses an electric motor. The design of this corn sheller machine aims to help ease the burden on corn farmers in particular. At first the corn shelling was done manually, then it developed using a large selep machine but the costs incurred were relatively expensive. The design of a two-cylinder corn sheller machine uses an electric motor to determine the appropriate design and construction of the corn sheller machine. In this machine there is no corn diameter limit for the shelling process in other words this machine is designed for all sizes of corn. In this design using several stages, namely first planning the design of the engine frame, electric motor, pulley and v-belt ratio and the calculation of the shaft. The result of the design is a machine design that is 1200 mm long, 1200 mm wide and 800 mm high. The sheller machine is driven using an electric motor of 500 watts, Rpm 1400 with a transmission system using a pulley and a v-belt ratio of 1: 1. There is no limit to the diameter of corn kernels in the shelling process using this machine. So it can be concluded that this machine has an effective design and sufficient shelling results, able to reduce post-harvest costs for corn farmers.</em></p>

Kinetostatic  study  of  a  statically  determined  hinged  spatial  mechanism  without  redundant (passive) connection with an additional movable link – a rocker arm of a machine for processing parts, in which the working container performs complex spatial movement.  Methodology.  The  essence  of  the  kinetostatic  research  was  to  determine  the  radial  and  axial components of the reactions in all rotational kinematic pairs of the hinged statically defined spatial mechanism of  the  machine  for  processing  parts,  when  it  is  idling.  The  kinetostatic  study  was  implemented  using  the SolidWorks 2016 computer-aided design system with preliminary 3D modeling of this machine design with an additional moving link – a rocker.  Results. In the course of the kinetostatic study, 3D modeling of a machine with an additional movable link – a rocker arm in the SolidWorks 2016 computer-aided design system was carried out, the maximum values of the radial and axial components of reactions in all rotational kinematic pairs of the machine for processing parts were determined, the effect of changing the center distance of the intermediate connecting rod (working capacity ) on the increase in the maximum values of the reactions in all rotational kinematic pairs.  Scientific novelty. The relationship between the center distance of the intermediate connecting rod (working capacity) and the change in the maximum values of the reactions in all rotational kinematic pairs of the machine for processing parts is determined. As a result, it becomes possible to determine the maximum permissible center distance of the intermediate connecting rod to ensure the durable operation of the machine.  Practical significance. It is determined that the nature of the change in the maximum values of the radial  and  axial  components  of the  reactions  in  each  rotational  kinematic  pair  of  the  spatial  mechanism depends  on  the  value  of  the  coefficient  characterizing  the  ratio  of  the  center-to-center  length  of  the intermediate  connecting  rod  (working  capacity)  to  the  center-to-center  length  of  the  driving  or  driven connecting rods of the machine. The range of variation of this coefficient has been determined, within which it is rational to design this machine design. The results obtained can be used in the corresponding design bureaus of machine-building enterprises at the stage of designing tumbling equipment with a complex spatial movement of working containers.

ABSTRAKTujuan dilaksanakan pengabdian ini untuk memperkenalkan dan memberikan pelatihan penggunaan perangkat lunak Autodesk Inventor untuk memproduksi gambar teknik berbasis Computer-aided Design (CAD) menurut International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Metode yang dilaksanakan melalui teori, praktik dan diskusi serta penyelesaian tugas perancangan mesin secara mandiri dan berkelompok. Materi pelatihan meliputi gambar kerja, pengenalan dasar CAD, pemodelan gambar two-dimensional (2D) dan three-dimensional (3D), perakitan dan presentasi model 3D. Evaluasi kegiatan dinilai mengacu pada kesiapan penyelesaian tugas perancangan dan kesesuaian hasil gambar menurut standar ISO. Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan CAD tingkat dasar diperoleh capaian dimana peserta telah menyelesaikan materi pembekalan menggambar teknik dan berhasil menyelesaikan tugas perancangan yang diberikan. Tugas proyek perancangan yang diberikan menuntut penguasaan dalam hal membuat model 3D dari gambar sketsa 2D, membuat gambar susunan, membuat gambar kerja dan menyajikannya dalam format presentasi model bergerak. Keberhasilan menyelesaikan tugas tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa para peserta paham dan mampu mengoperasikan perangkat lunak Autodesk Inventor. Kesimpulan, kemampuan dasar ini dapat dijadikan bekal untuk pengembangan diri peserta dalam pengembangan dan penguasaan CAD tingkat lanjut. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi berdasarkan tingginya animo untuk mengikuti pelatihan hingga akhir dan menyelesaikan tugas, dan juga memberikan dampak secara tidak langsung kepada persiapan tenaga terampil CAD pada industri di Aceh.Kata kunci: perancangan berbantuan komputer; gambar teknik 2D/3D; Autodesk InventorABSTRACTThe purpose of this service is to introduce and provide training on the use of Autodesk Inventor software to produce Computer-aided Design (CAD) based technical drawings according to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The method is carried out through theory, practice, and discussion, as well as completing machine design tasks independently and in groups. The training materials include working drawings, basic introduction to CAD, two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) drawing modeling, assembly, and presentation of 3D models. Evaluation of activities assessed refers to the readiness to complete the design task and the suitability of the drawings according to ISO standards. Based on the results of the basic level CAD training, there were achievements where participants had completed the technical drawing briefing material and completed the given design task. The design project task given requires mastery in terms of making 3D models from 2D sketch images, making layout drawings, making working drawings, and presenting them in a moving model presentation format. Successful completion of the task indicates that the participants understand and can operate the Autodesk Inventor software. In conclusion, this basic ability can be used as a provision for participants' self-development in the development and mastery of advanced CAD. This activity contributes based on the high interest in participating in training to the end and completing assignments and also has an indirect impact on the preparation of skilled CAD workers in the industry in Aceh.Keywords: computer-aided design; 2D/3D engineering drawing; Autodesk Inventor
