<div><strong>Purpose:</strong> The purpose of this article is to discuss the impact of Supplier orientation and the resulting Supply Chain Management (SCM) approach, on the organizational performance of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certified organizations.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Methodology/Approach:</strong> Following a literature review, a full structural conceptual model was proposed. An online survey was administered to managers of Portuguese organizations with certified ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.  Descriptive Statistics and Structural Model Equations were used to validate the proposed conceptual model. </div><div> </div><div><strong>Findings:</strong> There are positive relationships between Organization Strategy and Supplier Orientation, between Supplier Orientation and Stakeholders Satisfaction, and between Stakeholders Satisfaction and Organizational Performance Orientation, supporting ISO 9001:2015. These findings provide insights that supplier orientation, mediated by stakeholder satisfaction, is an essential tool for organizational competitive sustainable advantage.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Research Limitation/implication:</strong> The analysis was based on managers of ISO 9001 certified organizations perceptions, so additional studies with actual data and longitudinal studies should be useful for further validation.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Originality/Value of paper:</strong> The importance of the overall organizational ecosystem is highlighted with potential impact on the more than 1 Million ISO 9001 organizations certified worldwide and in their suppliers.</div>

Research background: ISO 9001 with its requirements gives a company a guidance on the definition of the quality management system architecture, based on the process approach and the indications for its continuous improvement. Despite the general emphasis to the benefits of implementation of ISO 9001 in the literature, there is a still lack of research concerning the actual impact of quality management systems for improving specific logistics processes. The research is focused on the Polish market because there is no research in the subject literature which concerns the impact of the implementation of quality management systems on the improvement of logistic processes in Polish enterprises. Purpose of the article: The focus of this publication was to examine the impact of the implementation of the requirements of ISO 9001 for process improvement supply logistics. Methods: Empirical studies were carried out in September and October 2014 on a group of 17 companies with implemented and certified quality management systems according to ISO 9001. The research tool was a questionnaire survey sent to management representatives (25 respondents) and workers (140 respondents). The surveys were supplemented with direct interviews with employees of the companies. Findings: Based on the survey it can be stated that the quality management systems, accord-ing to ISO 9001, had a fairly large impact on improving procurement processes. This is particularly evident in areas including relationships with suppliers, quality control, workflow and communication, both internal and external. The positive aspects achieved through the implementation of quality management systems due to the fact that the ISO 9001 standard in its commitments puts great emphasis on the organization of the procurement process.

Since the quality management systems have undergone a significant change by taking into account the concept of risk, for the shipyards, becomes necessary, an approach aimed at improving organizational performance by implementing a actions plan based on the risks which may adversely affect the achievement of the objectives identification and assessment. The purpose of the paper is to propose a series of measures for improving the shiprepairs shipyards organizational performance,based on identifying and assessing the risks. The contents of the paper address the following aspects: summarizes the main changes made by the quality management systems; presents some developments in view of the identification and results of the risk assessment, identifying key performance indicators specific to the ships maintenance works in shiprepairs shipyards, the use of the performance indicators related to the management systems processes (quality, environment, security and occupational health). Concluding, the authors bring some proposals on improving the quality of institutional relations of the shiprepair shipyards.

Introduction. Integration of Ukraine into the European Economic Area, membership in the World Trade Organization put forward strict requirements on the quality of goods (services, jobs) to the activities of domestic enterprises, in particular in the field of engineering. The formation of quality management systems (QMS) at engineering services enterprises in the context of the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2015 can become an effective mechanism for ensuring their competitiveness as a decisive factor for commercial success. Along with the obvious advantages of designing and implementing quality management systems according to the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2015 at enterprises, today there are a lot of problems, in particular in the field of engineering, to resolve which companies require methodological developments, practical tools and quality specialists. Aim and tasks. The aim of the study is to develop a conceptual model for the formation of the quality management system of an engineering enterprise according to the requirements of international standard ISO 9001: 2015 as a tool to improve its performance and ensure integration with the overall management of the company. Research results. The article substantiates the relevance of the formation of quality management systems at the enterprises of engineering services in the context of the requirements of international standard ISO 9001: 2015 and proves that they are an effective mechanism for ensuring their competitiveness as a decisive factor of commercial success. The existing models of quality management as a basis for the development of quality management systems in the leading countries of the world been analyzed. The model of processes of quality management system of the engineering enterprise according to requirements of standard ISO 9001: 2015 has been investigated and the essence of all its components has been revealed. The conceptual model of quality management system formation of an engineering enterprise in the context of the requirements of international standard ISO 9001: 2015 has been developed. Conclusions. The developed conceptual model of quality management system formation of the engineering enterprise is an effective methodological tool of quality management that will allow providing its integration into the general management of the company. Further developments are aimed at expert assessment of quality management system processes of engineering services companies in the context of the requirements of international standard ISO 9001: 2015.

Quality objectives are targets that are generally specified for relevant functions and levels within the organization. This research may be used as a foundation to build upon regarding the impact of quality objectives on ISO 9001 certified organizations. The impact on quality performance as a result of implementing quality objectives on organizations certified to ISO 9001 was determined. Organizations invest considerable amount of time, money, and resources in establishing and implementing quality management systems compliant with the ISO 9001 standard. Understanding the impact of the implementation of quality objectives on the performance of ISO 9001 certified organizations will support management in establishing value-added quality objectives that optimize the return on investment in ISO 9001 certification, while focusing on bottom line improvements.

Existing literature states that standardization and certification are not only crucial for enterprises, but they have a positive impact on productivity, international trade, innovation, and competition as well. This research employs data derived by the European Innovation Union Scoreboard and the International Standardization Organization from 2005 to 2014 to investigate the relation between innovation and certified quality management systems according to ISO 9001. Using suitable panel data analysis, the authors analyse the data gathered form a panel accounting for the different countries and different years. The main result of this study is that we are able to provide evidence to policymakers, academics, and entrepreneurs that there is a statistically significant relationship between innovation and certified quality management systems. The originality of this chapter stems from the fact that up to now, to the authors' knowledge, the impact of ISO 9001 on innovation has not been examined in the European context.

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of ISO9001 through achieving its intended objectives and determine its impact on the performance dimensions of oil and gas drilling companies which are related to operations and HSE. 375 samples were obtained using a structured questionnaire from oil and gas drilling companies operating in OMAN to conduct an empirical study. A structured equation modeling (SEM) through SMART PLS was applied in order to determine the impact of ISO 9001 effectiveness on the performance dimensions of oil and gas drilling companies. The findings of this study reveal as identified in the literature, the dimensions of the ISO 9001 effectiveness which are evaluated by the degree of achievement of the standard&rsquo;s objectives, namely (continuous improvement, customer focus, prevention of nonconformities, risk-based thinking, leadership &amp; commitment and Competency framework) and reveals its significant contribution to the performance of the oil and gas drilling companies. The operational and HSE performance of the oil and gas drilling companies are directly and significantly influenced by ISO 9001 effectiveness. The findings of this study revealed that the R2 value for the first order constructs which are the six ISO objectives are all above the 0.7, implying that the six constructs significantly explain the second order construct ISO 9001 QMS effectiveness. The R2 for QMS effectiveness is 0.460 which means that, 46% of the variation in performance can be explained by effective quality management systems. The effect size f2 was calculated to assess the effect each latent construct has on Quality Management Systems. It has been revealed in this study that PNC has the highest effect on QMS followed by CI, RBT, L&amp;C, CF and CFW respectively.&nbsp; From the Q square statistic, it is inferred that QMS 9001 effectiveness has a high (strong) effect of 39% on performance. Finally, the Model fit was assessed based on the SRMR criteria by which it revealed a good fit of the model which was 0.052. These findings will support practitioners and decision makers to focus on quality related problems that might occur in their current or future projects to enhance their organization performance.

This research explores the impact of the firm’s internal and external attributes on its degree of implementation of quality management according to the ISO 9000 standard. This econometric study, based on the data gathered from a sample of Tunisian companies certified or in the course of certification in ISO 9001: 2000, reveals that the application of quality management depends on the organizational and environmental context of the company: a motivation rather internal than external to be certified, the application of ISO 9004 standard  recommendations, the adhesion of the company to the leveling program, size, investment in new technologies of information and communication and in technologies of analysis and measurement and the importance of innovation and quality criterion for customers.
