Research Goal: To measure the effectiveness of the use of a proposed training program based on active learning to develop teaching skills of Shari'a Sciences’ teachers and their attitudes towards it at the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Research depended on the descriptive approach during building the program that based on active learning strategies, as assign experimental method when applying the program to identify its effectiveness in developing teaching of Shari'a Sciences’ teachers for the secondary school in the city of Medina and their attitudes toward it in teaching. Research instruments: The Card Note of teaching skills consisted of (45) sub-skill divided into three main areas which are (planning, implementation and evaluation). The measure of the attitude towards active learning in teaching included (26) phrases, therefore, the program is based on active learning in developing the teaching skills. After the researcher has checked the sincerity of research instruments, he began to be apply it to a stratified random sample, which consisted of (34) teachers of Shari'a Sciences’ teachers for the secondary school. The research contain a number of appropriate statistical methods, which are arithmetic averages, standard deviations, (T) test for the associated groups, the coefficient of Peerson, ETA square, the equation of the Blak, the coefficient of alpha Cronbach and the equation of Cooper. After conducting statistical analyzes, the research found the existence of Statistical differences among the average performance of the research sample in the Card Note of teaching skills in (planning, implementation and evaluation) Separated and combined in the light of active learning before and after the proposed training program for the benefit of the telemetric. In the light of the findings, the research recommended: Taking advantage of the current research program in training Shari'a Sciences’ teachers in different stages of education, especially Secondary School Teachers, because of its positive impact on the development of their teaching skills, and benefit from the list of teaching skills of the current research when assessing teachers' performance during service.   ، ، ،

This study aims to examine how effective a self-questioning strategy is at developing academic achievement and critical-thinking skills in the jurisprudence curriculum (Fiqh), followed by secondary-school students. The research sample is taken from secondary-school students in Dammam, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA); 64 students from two different schools were selected: 32 as a control and 32 as an experimental group. The research instruments consist of an achievement test, a test to see how critical-thinking skills are applied to the Fiqh curriculum, and a teachers’ guide to teaching the Fiqh curriculum, using the self-questioning strategy. The study recommends the use of the self-questioning strategy when teaching the Fiqh curriculum to secondary-school students. It also highlights the need to raise teachers’ awareness of the importance of teaching critical-thinking skills. Considering the research results and recommendations, the researchers recommend several further avenues of research related to the current research variables.

Background: Malocclusion is recognized as one of the most common dental problems affecting the young adults and adolescence globally. Oral functions and facial aesthetics are influenced by the severity of malocclusion and it's of great concern to the individual, their families and health authorities as well. Most of the reported studies for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are from the eastern, southern and central region. To the best of our knowledge no data is available for the northern region of Hail; therefore the aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of malocclusion among the population of Hail city. Methodology: Descriptive study having a cross sectional study, convenient sample size of 504 Saudi populations between the age group of 13 – 50 years. Informed consent was taken from the participants before conducting the examination, parents’ consent was sought for children. Malocclusion was recorded as described by WHO, oral health Survey, and basic methods. Each subject was examined for the type of malocclusion according to Angle’s classification. Results: Most predominant malocclusion was Angle’s Class I 41.7% in females and 26.2% in males.15.4% males and 23.3% females had excessive overjet (>2mm) compared to 38% males and (24.3%) females who had reduced overjet (2mm) whereas 32.3% males and 20.5% females had reduced overbite (<1 mm), anterior cross bite was reported in 5.6%males and (1.3%) females and open bite in 5.6% males and 5.5 % females. Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, the prevalence of malocclusion in Hail region of Saudi Arabia is comparable with that of other regional studies.Most of the study participants exhibited Angles class I occlusal features with normal overjet and overbite.

Background: Coffee is the most preferred morning beverage throughout the world due to its pleasant flavor and stimulating properties. It contains a multipart combination of chemicals constituents, which associated with health benefits. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia there are many types of coffee in the local markets with different characteristics. Aims: The present study was designed to identify the total phenolic contents, antioxidant properties and antimicrobial activities for three of the most commonly consumed coffee brews; Intenso (Arabica), Reebass (Turkish) and Lavazza (Brazilian) purchased from some local markets at the Northern region in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Study Design: It was an in-vitro study. Methodology: The purchased coffee types were extracted using the boiling water method. Determination of total phenolic content of the obtained extracts was carried out using the Folin-Ciocalteu method. Antioxidant activity was measured using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay. Measurement of antimicrobial activity was determined by disk diffusion method against number of microbial test strains. The obtained data were statistically analyzed and results with p < 0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: The obtained results showed that, the estimated phenolic contents were arranged as 745.50 ± 10.5, 668.86 ± 11.2 & 651.25 ± 13.0 mg/g of gallic acid/1 g of coffee for Lavazza (Brazilian), Reebass (Turkish) & Intenso (Arabica) respectively. DPPH radical scavenging activity was higher 78.83% for Turkish coffee than Arabica 71.59% and Brazilian 65.90% types. Regarding antimicrobial activity; Arabica coffee extract was the highest antimicrobial activity compared to the other two extracts of both Turkish and Brazilian types where the mean diameter of inhibition zone for three coffee types were ranged from 11.0 ± 0.15 to 16.0 ± 0.40; 9.0 ± 0.25 to 11.0 ± 0.10 and 9.5 ± 0.10 to 13.0 ± 0.50 mm for Arabica, Turkish and Brazilian coffee extracts respectively. Conclusion: The present study concludes that coffee types under investigation showed high phenolic content and strong antioxidant activity as well as promising antimicrobial activity.
