Clinical success of endodontically treated posterior teeth is determined by the postendodontic restoration. Several options have been proposed to restore endodontically treated teeth. Endocrowns represent a conservative and esthetic restorative alternative to full coverage crowns. The preparation consists of a circular equigingival butt-joint margin and central retention cavity into the entire pulp chamber constructing both the crown and the core as a single unit. The case reports discussed here are moderately damaged endodontically treated molars restored using all ceramic endocrowns fabricated using two different systems, namely, CAD/CAM and pressed ceramic.

The literature reports several materials for the restoration of endodontically treated teeth, with coronal destruction that requires an intra-root fiber post to stabilize the prosthetic part. The intra-radicular post of composite resin reinforced with fiberglass can be used as retainers in rehabilitating endodontically treated teeth due to their adhesiveness, pleasing aesthetics, and elasticity module close to the dentin less wear on the remaining structure. This clinical case reports the step-by-step application of dual resin cement (Rebilda DC Dentine - Voco) used as the cementation material of the post and material for the filling core in a single step, in an upper right lateral incisor. Moreover, it describes the advantages and indications of the post-and-core technique, also called “monobloc” which can be used in both anterior and posterior teeth. This protocol minimizes the adhesive interfaces, the chair time, and the steps of the clinical procedure.

In recent years, impressive progress has been made in digital imaging and in particular in three dimensional visualisation and analysis of objects. This paper reviews the most recent literature on three dimensional imaging with a special attention to particulate systems analysis. After an introduction recalling some important concepts in spatial sampling and digital imaging, the paper reviews a series of techniques with a clear distinction between the surfometric and volumetric principles. The literature review is as broad as possible covering materials science as well as biology while keeping an eye on emerging technologies in optics and physics. The paper should be of interest to any scientist trying to picture particles in 3D with the best possible resolution for accurate size and shape estimation. Though techniques are adequate for nanoscopic and microscopic particles, no special size limit has been considered while compiling the review.

OR 'dental prosthesis' OR 'dental porcelain' OR 'FPD' AND 'zirconia'.

Abstract It has been suggested that Christianity is inextricably linked with secularization due to its emphasis on purification and rationalization. But if we believe secularization in Europe is at least partly caused by internal developments within Christianity, may we then assume that secularization emerges wherever Christian missionaries are successful? Has the Christian mission unwittingly instigated secularization in its mission fields? This literature review analyses the argument that American anthropologist Elmer Miller made in the article “The Christian Missionary, Agent of Secularization” (1970) and explores whether his thesis has been confirmed in academic literature during the past fifty years. Miller presents rationalization as the primary driver of secularization and explains how missionaries have played a decisive role in this process. This paper demonstrates that while rationalization has often been mentioned as an effect of the Christian mission in other sources, the process has rarely been linked to secularization in the mission field.

The paper presents purpose equations describing the uneven mixing depending on the number of the mixer blade impacts per unit of concrete weight as well as the weight of the mixture that have an impact on blades of the slow-speed mixer. Based on the literature review and analysis of the mixing process conducted in the Samara State Agricultural Academy, the design of the blade mixer was developed. The mixer consists of a body where there is a horizontal shaft with working bodies, made in the form of radial blades of helical shape. There are received equations that allow determining the concrete uniformity depending on a number of the impacts of the mixer blades per unit of the concrete weight as well as on the concrete weight that act on the blades of the slow-speed mixer. The power function is adequately described by the experimental results of 98 % confidence probability. In the studied areas of changes in independent factors rational values of the number of impacts per unit of the concrete weight is not less than 800 PCs/kg, as well as the concrete weight having impact on the blade of the slow-speed mixer is not more than 0,001 kg/PC.

Objective: the objective of this literature review was to catalog and describe observational scientific studies on the planning of removable partial dentures, based on the panorama of rehabilitation in the last 20 years in Brazil. Methodology: As databases Scielo, Pubmed, Google Scholar, VHL; as well as the terms used in this search were: removable partial denture, dental prosthesis planning and dental models. The inclusion criteria in this study were observational studies carried out based on data obtained in Brazil; articles that address the variables under study: planning, quality of the models and dental preparations published between 2000 and 2020. The exclusion criteria for this work were literature reviews, clinical cases, letters to the editor, opinion articles (low scientific evidence); literature with data from other countries; articles not available in full by the databases; articles addressing the planning of unconventional PPRs. The selection of articles was carried out based on abstracts. Results: The selection resulted in 11 researches on the theme, the works showed a high prevalence of the absence of planning (drawing) and dental preparations, niches and guide plans, in addition to plaster models in poor conditions. It being observed that the responsibility in the elaboration of the design of the metallic structure by the dentist has been delegated to the technician in dental prosthesis. Conclusion: Based on the methodology used in this literature review, the findings showed a bleak outlook in Brazil, regarding the planning of the removable partial denture that is neglected by the dentist.

Primary lymphangiomas or lymphangiomatous polyps of the palatine tonsil are rare benign lesions that are described infrequently in the literature. The majority of the published cases concern adults. We report a case of a lymphangiomatous lesion of the right palatine tonsil of a 9-year-old boy. Our clinical suspicion was confirmed by the histological examination after tonsillectomy and the diagnosis of primary lymphangioma of the tonsil was made. In this case we discuss the clinical and histopathological features of this lesion and present a short review of the current literature.
