The intense urbanization and growth of big cities has become the urban afforestation an important subject within the environmental issues. This research purposes an investigation of Rio Claro citizens opinion about the subject since the population usually refuses to recognize the importance of the trees. Qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews was used to achieve this goal, takin into account the circumstances and the environment where the interviewee was inserted. Most respondents apparently recognize the importance of urban forestation; though often utilitarian and anthropocentric. It's expected that environmental education can provide the recognition of trees, involving a positive attitude about environment.

The entry of youth into the prisons would lead them to the loss of independence, difficulties in adapting, and lonely feeling, which ultimately affects the condition of psychological well-being. Here, psychological well-being is an essential condition to make teenagers, i.e., convicts, be able to defend their lives for serving a sentence. The study aims to provide an overview of the psychological well-being of juvenile prisoners and to investigate the factors that influence the formation of psychological well-being. In this case, the study employs an exploratory qualitative approach to the subject of two teenage inmates. The prison chosen is located in Class II A Sidoarjo. The data are obtained from interviewing technique and field notes. The results show that inmates have better psychological well-being than when they entered the prison early. The condition is proved at the subjects’ ability to adjust themselves to the environment, develop self-potential, accept themselves in a positive attitude, self-control and self-reliant, have a purpose to live and be able to establish positive relationships with others. Meanwhile, the factors that influence the formation of psychological well-being in inmates are social support, social interaction, and social skills while they are in a prison.

However, adopting environmental management as a development strategy satisfies the organizations needs to gather economic growth and sustainability. Thus, this paper aims on identifying whether the organizations from the Quarta Colonia Region are concerned about environmental issues and whether they adopt environmental management programs, analyzing aspects which can influence the different approaches applied to this issue. In order to reach such aim, a qualitative approach was used in a study considered exploratory and comprised as a case study. The sample consisted of five organizations from the Quarta Colonia Region where there were technical visits and semi-structured interviews. A relevant result of the study was that it was possible to observe that the studied organizations are restricted only to the operative environmental law requirements. Thus, organizations ought to adopt new emplacements and a continuous updating process, which can become viable through the environmental management. AbstractThis paper considers the role of rangers and education officers who present and represent their park on school trips to national parks, and their interactions with teachers who organise those trips. These shared encounters are commonplace events. They have an important potential and actual role in environmental education, but have not been the subject of much research. Both the teachers' environmental education objectives and the possibilities offered by parks are wide: nature study, ecology, parks as natural and cultural heritage, land management and community issues, recreational activities and their consequences. However this breadth of potential activity possibly exacerbates a gap between the two cultures that meet on such encounters, a gap that needs to be addressed if the participants are to be able to maximise their shared and separate concerns.Using semi-structured interviews, our research looked at the strengths and limitations of several school visits for both teachers and ranger. In this paper we report particularly on the importance of the ranger in the process. We suggest that the role of the ranger is an undervalued and under-supported link in effective environmental education.

The present study attempts to investigate the views of general and special education teachers regarding those factors that motivate and hinder the implementation of Environmental Education (E.E.) in the context of Special Education (S.E.). It is a quantitative research for the needs of which a questionnaire was created based on the theoretical framework of the study in order to be given to teachers on the island of Rhodes. From the analysis of the results it was found that the main factors that can motivate the implementation of the E.E. in the context of S.E. is the willingness of teachers to implement innovative programs (such as E.E.), the benefits arising from the implementation of E.E. to the students with special educational needs and/or disabilities, the personal interest of the teachers in E.E., their environmental education, the acquisition of knowledge about environmental issues and the adequate training of the teachers in subjects of P. Ε. and E.A. On the other hand, the most important factors that can hinder its implementation are the lack of time/inflexibility of the program, the bureaucratic process for the approval of the program, the lack of material and technical equipment, the lack of training of teachers in the subject of E.E. and the workload of teachers.

Writing is one of the four essential language skills for language learning. Writing is considered important because it's one of the communication medium and it makes student critical. However, writing is a significant difficulty for both native and non-native learners. Due to advancements in technology, LMS enables educators and students to communicate and engage in new ways. Google Classroom, being one of the most widely used LMS platforms, may assist students in developing their ability to write a descriptive text. This research aimed to investigate students’ perception of using Google Classroom in learning writing descriptive text. The subject examined students in the tenth grade at a Senior High School in Indonesia. This research used a qualitative approach with a narrative inquiry. The researcher utilized semi-structured interviews to gather the data and analyzed them using the thematic analysis of Braun & Clarke. The indicator of the research question is based on UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance of Technology) by Vankavesh (2003). The study discovered that students preferred using Google Classroom to learn descriptive text. Google Classroom helps them to know and understand descriptive writing materials easily. However, Effort Expectancy may be altered with sufficient internet use and Google Classroom upgrades.

This article aimed to better understand the ways of thinking and dreaming of 4th and 5th grade students, from a Municipal School located in the rural area of Imperatriz – MA, who live under the conditionality of poverty. A brief analysis of poverty was made in Brazil and Maranhão, we noticed that many changes have been taking place in Brazilian public policy, in order to change the reality of many children and young people in poverty or extreme poverty. We cite Brazilian education as an important historical landmark. We highlight poverty in public schools and the possibility of these students learning and creating important knowledge for future life. Education and guarantees of citizenship of children and adolescents is seen as a form of collective construction. The research was developed in a qualitative approach, with phenomenological focus, and semi-structured interviews were used in data collection. For it was necessary to give the students the opportunity to express themselves freely about their dreams and desires for a future without poverty. We had contact with the reality of the students and their families, we know the school where the students study and a little about their dreams, desires and vision of a future without poverty. Given the relevance of the theoretical framework, we reviewed documents and authors dealing with the subject, such as: Arroyo (2015), Freire (2005), Leite (2017), Pinzani and Leão Rego (2015), Reis (2011), among others.

Environmental education has shown lamentable inertia in scarcely capitalizing on the growth of interest in environmental issues since the 1960s. The present paper explores the general factors contributing to this, which include the failure of environmentalism as a movement to act as a catalyst for environmental education, and the problems of attempting to appeal to a wide audience of both specialists and non-specialists who each expect different things of environmental education. To date, education about the environment and education from the environment have been dominant, at the expense of education for the environment; and further problems arise in establishing both an educational niche and disciplinary horizons for the subject in order to increase its appeal to educational planners.

The extended model of different forms of work satisfaction ( Büssing, 1991 ), originally proposed by Bruggemann (1974) , is suggested as a distinctive qualitative approach to work satisfaction. Six forms of work satisfaction—progressive, stabilized, resigned satisfaction, constructive, fixated, resigned dissatisfaction—are derived from the constellation of four constituent variables: comparison of the actual work situation and personal aspirations, global satisfaction, changes in level of aspiration, controllability at work. Preliminary evidence from semi-structured interviews with 46 nurses shows that the dynamic model is headed in the right direction (qualitative differentiation of consistently high propertions of satisfied employees, uncovering processes of person-work situation interaction). Qualitative methods demonstrated their usefulness in accessing underlying cognitive and evaluative processes of the forms, which are often neglected by traditional attitude-based satisfaction research.
