Currently, airport pavement design only considers the different horizontal standard deviation at the end and the middle of the runway, which had ignored the longitudinal distribution of airport runway traffic volume (ARTV). Especially for short take-off and landing aircraft, the take-off and landing distribution are not full of the whole runway. In allusion to the characteristics of ARTV, this paper developed a test system for the wheel track distribution and conducted a test of a short take-off and landing aircraft. Based on the statistics and analysis of test results, the horizontal and longitudinal distribution statistical laws of ARTV were obtained. At last, the longitudinal passage factor was proposed, and the planar distribution model was established to evaluate the ARTV at each point of the runway. By comparison with current design specifications, it is indicated that the pavement thickness will be designed more conservative without considering the planar distribution of traffic volumes.

At present, the college English testing system has become an indispensable system in many universities. However, the English test system is not highly humanized due to problems such as unreasonable framework structure. This paper combines data mining technology to build a college English test framework. The college English test system software based on data mining mainly realizes the computer program to automatically generate test papers, set the test time to automatically judge the test takers’ test results, and give out results on the spot. The test takers log in to complete the test through the test system software. The examination system software solves the functions of printing test papers, arranging invigilation classrooms, invigilating teachers, invigilating process, collecting test papers, scoring and analyzing test papers in traditional examinations. Finally, this paper analyzes the performance of this paper through experimental research. The research results show that the system constructed in this paper has certain practical effects.

Laminated glass has been increasing widely used in high rise buildings as a kind of safety glass in recent years. So we should analyze its material property. In this paper, we use flexural experiments and ANSYS program to analyze the main factors that affect the flexural capacity of the laminated glass. The test results show that the flexural capacity is closely related to film. And the ANSYS program had got good agreement with the experimental results. Comparison of experimental results with calculated ones indicates that the current design code will lead to conservative results and the equivalent thickness of laminated glasses provided in the code should be further discussed.

This study develops a simplified comparative procedure for use in preliminary yacht design to predict Equilibrium sideforce, resistance, leeway angle and speed made good to windward for a canoe hull sailing yacht within specific form parameters on any of five standard series keels. These forces, angles and speeds are predicted for any yacht hull resembling one of nine models - ranging from light to medium-heavy length to displacement ratio - (190 to 351) - of the Delft Systematic Series for which there is numerical data. The forces are calculated at speed to length ratio of 1. 3 and heel angle of 30° to enable the designer to make use of existing comparative sail plan and rigging data. The five keels of varying aspect and area ratio, spanning current design practice, are part of a matrix developed at the Davidson Laboratory. In this paper, a canoe yacht hull form similar to Model 7 of the Delft Series is tank tested on 3 Standard Series keels and compared to results obtained from testing a 5.5 m hull, which is similar to Model 8, on the same keels. A prediction procedure is developed and checked against test results. A few Equations, selected values from included tabulations, a calculator, pencil and paper will yield quantitative information for the yacht designer in the selection of a keel for the hull of a sailing yacht.

Pretensioned concrete beams are widely used as bridge girders for simply supported bridges. Understanding the fatigue behavior of such beams is very important for design and construction to prevent fatigue failure. The fatigue behavior of pretensioned concrete beams is mainly influenced by the fatigue of the prestressing strands. The evaluation of previous test results from the literature indicated a reduced fatigue life in the long-life region compared with current design methods and specifications. Therefore, nine additional high-cycle fatigue tests were conducted on pretensioned concrete beams with strand stress ranges of about 100 MPa (14.5 ksi). The test results confirmed that current design methods and specifications overestimate the fatigue life of embedded strands in pretensioned concrete beams.

The bonded MoS2 films are widely used as solid lubricants in aerospace mechanisms due to their excellent tribological properties. Traditionally, the MoS2 was directly bonded on the Al substrate that was only treated by the technique named of sandblast. For improving the tribological properties of MoS2 films, micro arc oxidation (MAO) instead of sandblast was introduced as a new technique for treating of Al substrate. In this article, the tribological properties of MoS2 films which were bonded on different surface of Al substrate as mentioned above were discussed, respectively. It was concluded from the test results that the MoS2 films bonded on substrate treated by MAO have better tribological properties than those samples treated by sandblast. The endurance life against abrasion of the former is as high as twenty times of the latter by the stand test method of ball on disk using the UMT Multi-Specimen Test System. This test results could be illustrated by the following reasons. The first is the porous microstructures of MAO ceramic coatings on the Al substrate. The coatings have numerous pits to be good at increasing the binding force with the MoS2 films, and the pits can also provide a MoS2 lubricants reservoir during processes of friction. Both of them improved the MoS2 film’s ability of wear-protective. The second is that hardness of the coating is higher than the Al, and this ensures well wearing resistance, especially in practical application to big load-supporting moving parts, such as bearing, gear, etc…

How much coal will India need to transport in future and is the rail network poised to handle that requirement are two important questions for the emerging economy. To find answers to these questions, this study creates a distribution model of coal freight traffic on Indian Railways, analyzing the sufficiency of infrastructure for future economic needs. Using data on spatial distribution of coal mines, coal traffic volumes and rail sectional capacities, this study creates sectional capacity maps as main visual tool for analysis. Sections with bottlenecks are identified for next ten years’ coal transport need of the country. The simulation done in this study finds 15% under-delivery for the 900mT coal demand in the country by 2030 due to transport bottlenecks. Based on this analysis, the article presents the conclusions on possible influence of existing conditions of coal transportation on India’s economy in the long-term period and also considers the role of dedicated freight.

Experimental study on combustor outlet temperature field of heavy-duty gas turbine had been finished on high-pressure test system. Experimental results indicate: The OTDF is sensitive to diameter of dilution holes, and the RTDF is sensitive to location of dilution holes. The test results have important guiding significance and reference value to design, commission and working about the similar combustor.

This paper presents the analytical optimised truss model based on the principle of the minimum total strain energy theorem. The model was validated against 90 experimental data collected from the literature. The predicted shear strength in the analysis showed a very satisfactory correlation with the test results, with the average experimental/analytical failure load ratio of 1.09 and the coefficient of variation (C.O.V) of 14.1%. Furthermore, a comparison between the accuracy of the proposed model and the current design guidelines was also demonstrated in this study. It was observed that the optimised truss model led to be more viable than the standard 45-deg truss model in the design guidelines. A large dispersion of the results was found in ACI 440 with the C.O.V as far as 31.4%; whilst the TR 55 and fib 14 showed no significant difference with the C.O.V of 29.3% and 21.5%, respectively.
