Theoretically the most difficult issue in development industry is to enhance the production efficiency. Numerous researches have been done previously, however a more profound comprehension is as yet expected to enhance the labour productivity. The fundamental result from the writing is that there is no standard definition for labour work profitability. It covers the development labour productivity definitions, angles and factors influencing it. The labour productivity is particularly essential in developing countries, where the vast most of the building development work is still on manual premise. The point of this investigation is to get the most recent data and to recognize the key factors that influence the labour work efficiency in and around Thanjavur. So overview is brought out through questionnaire surveys and circulate to respondents who work at different undertakings in wide region in Thanjavur and the poll are evaluated by venture supervisors, project managers, construction engineers, field workers and furthermore with works utilizing their experience. Poor productivity of construction workers is one of the causes of cost and time overruns in construction projects. The productivity of labour is particularly important especially in developing countries, where most of the building construction work is still on manual basis. This paper reports on a survey made on project managers of building projects in Uganda, where an increase in productivity is being sought. Respondents were required to rate using their experience how 36 factors affect productivity with respect to time, cost and quality. The survey was carried out by a questionnaire and responses received over a period of 3 months. The ten most significant problems affecting labour productivity were identified as incompetent supervisors; lack of skills from the workers; rework; lack of tools/equipment; poor construction methods; poor communication; inaccurate drawings; stoppages because of work being rejected by consultants; political insecurity; tools/equipment breakdown; and harsh weather conditions. Although lack of materials is ranked highest with regard to average rating on loss of time, it was not ranked among the top ten using the importance index that takes into account time, cost as well as work quality. The policy makers and researchers should focus on the identified major factors in order to improve productivity.

Knowledge-Intensive Services in Slovakia from the Viewpoint of Innovation and Labour Productivity The article deals with current issues of innovation and labour productivity in knowledge-intensive services in Slovakia compared to less knowledge-intensive services. The aim of the article is to identify innovation activity of enterprises in selected branches of service sector as one of the key factors affecting labour productivity which influences competitiveness of individual enterprises as well as competitiveness of the national economy as a whole.

Productivity is a very important element in the estimation process in construction management. The objective of this research is to identify and analyze the factors which affect labor productivity in construction projects. In this research, 42 effective factors were collected from site survey, interview with engineers and experts, and previous research in the Arab world. These factors are grouped into Nine categories “Workforce, Leadership, Motivation, Supervisors, Safety, Project, Time, Material, and External”. A survey questionnaire of 70 respondents was distributed among different experts. A statistical analysis was done using SPSS and EXCEL packages. The Relative Importance Index was used to find out the most significant factors affecting the labor productivity in construction sites. The results accomplished from the survey revealed that the major factors negatively affect the labor productivity (ranked from the worst factor with Relative Importance Index values, respectively) namely, Availability Material (88.571%), Climate status “Weather” (88%), Religious occasions (86.29%), Number of working groups (86%), Ganger experience (85.714%), Workforce surveillance (84.857%), Ganger Age (84%), working at height (82%), Drawings and specifications alteration during execution (81.69%), and Sequence of floor (80.571%). Based upon these findings, this can help the construction professionals to improve the productivity and project performance in Iraq.

Motivation: This article presents the analysis of work efficiency in hard coal mining in Poland. Labour costs in Polish mining enterprises account for over 40% of the total production cost. For this reason, the labour productivity of employees has a key impact on the final operating profit.Problem statement: In the case of Polish coal companies, the efficiency is the index value of which particular restructuration programs have attempted to increase for years. However, because of the effect of overstaffing and a decrease in hard coal exploitation, the task was impossible.Approach and results: In this article the effects of the latest recovery programme have been presented, the production efficiency index has been determined; the rate of changes in production volume has been presented as well as the employment figure and the average salary in the Polish mining industry in the recent decade.  Moreover, the prognosis of the employment figure using the ARIMA and ARMAX class model was conducted.Conclusions: It should be noted that in the last four years a significant reduction in the employment figure has been onserved in the hard coal mining industry. This figure has been adjusted to the production volume level.  This, in turn, has positively influenced the work efficiency coefficient level.

The construction sector is diverse as it contains contractors, consultants, designers, owners and others. Poor productivity of construction workers is one of the causes of cost and time overruns in construction projects. As construction is a labour-intensive industry, this paper focuses on labour productivity in the construction industry and to identify factors affecting labour productivity at building construction project. The performance of labour is affected by many factors and is usually linked to the performance of time, cost, work pressure, safety measures and quality. The questionnaires were distributed to supervisors, project Engineer, labourers, the top 35 factors were identified, categorized into 3 different groups, using SPSS tool, which is analytical software, the factors were analyzed and ranked considering relative importance index were calculated. And also calculated actual productivity for Brick Masonry is taken from sites. The result shows the factors considered which most affects the labour productivity loss in residential buildings and actual productivity versus expected productivity the brick masonry work were calculated.

Based on the basic theory of factor analysis, this paper analyzes the risk factors of large-scale bridge construction through questionnaire surveys and expert scoring methods, summarizes the basic data of factors affecting bridge construction, and then analyzes the possible application of factor analysis in bridge construction risk analysis Sex. Based on the statistical processing of the data by the IBM SPSS Statistics V21.0 software, the applicability of the method was verified through factor extraction, factor rotation, consistency analysis and construction validity, and pointed out that six types of main factors affecting the safety of bridge construction Factors, calculate the importance index and correlation of each risk factor, and sort them by size, so as to estimate the risk consequences of bridge construction in a targeted manner, and invest reasonable efforts to control according to the size and importance of the risk, so that the risk control process is more Reasonable and targeted.

Promoting the construction of characteristic towns under the background of new urbanization is an important way for my country to break the bottleneck of economic development and realize economic transformation and upgrading. In recent years, although the construction of characteristic towns in Sichuan Province has achieved remarkable results and a large number, especially tourist and leisure characteristic towns accounted for the largest proportion, they still face urgent problems such as avoiding redundant construction, achieving scientific development, and overall planning. This study takes 20 cultural tourism characteristic towns selected by the first batch of Sichuan Province as the research object, combined with field research and tourist questionnaire surveys, and screened out relevant influencing factors of characteristic towns from different aspects such as transportation, economy, industry, ecology, historical and cultural heritage. Analyze the correlation with the development level of characteristic towns in order to find out the key factors affecting the development of characteristic towns of this type, provide a policy basis for the scientific development and overall planning of reserve characteristic towns in our province, and contribute to the construction of new urbanization And provide advice and suggestions on the development of tourism industry in our province.

Road construction in Pakistan is booming because of China’s One Belt One Road program. Pakistan is in a developing stage and facing a lot of challenges in construction projects, primarily in labour productivity. This research focuses on the factors affecting labour productivity in road construction projects of Pakistan. A questionnaire was developed to observe the impact of critical factors on labour productivity. Based on the gathered responses, the factors were ranked using the Relative Importance Index (RII). The analysis shows that out of thirty (30) factors, the most important five (5) factors that affect labour productivity on road construction are unskilled workforce, payment delays to labour, tools and equipment shortages, poor communication of supervisor with labours and financial difficulties of owner/contractor. By focusing on these critical issues’ betterment can be made in labour productivity which will directly enhance the projects’ performance.

Cost overrun in construction projects is a common phenomenon in Iraq. This might occur due to diversity of factors. This study aims to identify the factors influencing construction projects cost that are potentially controllable by main contractors. A field study through a questionnaire survey was directed to a sample of related Iraqi professional engineers from general contracting companies at both public and private sectors. Their opinions on the impact and frequency of each factor were investigated. The questionnaire offered (59) factors classified in (8) categories namely; legislations, financial and economic, design, contractual, site management, material, labor and equipment. The factors were ranked according to the highest Relative Importance Index (RII). The study revealed (10) major factors that are potentially controllable by main contractors namely; labor productivity, sub-contractors and suppliers performance, equipment productivity, site organization and distribution of equipment, experience and training of project managers, scheduling and control techniques, planning for materials supply, planning for equipment supply, materials delivery and planning for skilled labor recruitment. Recommendations to aid contractors and owners in early identification of these factors are also included in this study.
