This article discusses about the tradition of yalil/yalail practiced in Kampung Pakuncen Cilegon Banten in the process of marriage celebration. It is a symbol of the beginning of family life. This tradition is conducted after marriage contract. The discussion concentrate on the meaning of the tradition among the society. Based on empirical research, this paper argues that the tradition of yalil is a symbol of the arrival of the first time the groom goes to the bride's house and the acceptance of the bride’s family to the groom. In Kampung Pakuncen, Ya lail tradition has important meaning for the society, even it was considered as a compulsory in wedding procession and give impact to the validity of marriage. As a fruit of social development, contemporary development shows that ya lail is considered as a good tradition which does not give impact to the validity of marriage.

The empirical study of literature might be tolerated as a discipline, withinliterary studies it remains an unknown, peripheral possibility, that has to dealwith a lot of scepticism and ignorance. Often it is associated with sheer quantitativeresearch, only focusing, moreover, on the contemporary. In this articleI try to show that the empirical approach also can be applied for the study ofliterary history, with attention paid to qualitative aspects. I demonstrate thisby means of empirical research I have done into the Swedish first time poetsof the 1970s. I point out that the empirical study of literature is conceived ofas a methodology that is applied within a specific theoretical framework, thesystemic study of literature.

There is a consensus that employability isn’t only gathering degrees and other qualifications but rather is a set of various factors such as possessing the right transferable skills, the knowledge of job market, the combination of personal attributes, the ongoing training, self presentation skills, networking and ego drive to navigate yourself effectively in a continuous changing world of work. On the other hand, there is an opinion in general that graduates have a remarkable problem to enter the job market for the first time. They don’t know how to search effectively for new job positions, how to present their skills and abilities towards the recruiters or employers and have no idea how to react in the interview process. Finally, employee candidates after graduation need help and consultancy to enter the job market. This study aims to search the role of training courses in enhancing candidates’ employability outcomes according to their opinion. For this purpose, an empirical research has been conducted in order to explore the view of the candidates’ about the importance of relative courses to enhance their employability. In particular we asked two hundreds and thirteen post graduates students in Greece about their opinion of the usefulness in participating and attaint such courses. Furthermore, combined we asked them how much they agree with particular statements that employability is more than having someone qualifications. Results show that employability training courses could contribute effectively in employability outcomes .Also participants agree to the statements that to be someone employable depends not only on their qualifications but also on other factors such as the effectiveness of utilizing job search methods, self promotion skills, networking etc.

In the paper, I trace the evolution of the Neoplatonic school in Alexandria on the basis of select fragments from Damascius’ “Philosophical History,” translated into Russian for the first time. The fragments concern the Alexandrian intellectual scene of the second part of the fifth century (fragments 72–96 Athanassiadi). Damascius vividly presents the major philosophical figures of this period, such as Heraiscus, Asclepiades, Asclepiodoti (Senior and Junior), and Domninus. Most information is preserved about Asclepiodotus the Junior, who against the background of the general fascination of the Platonists with theurgy and other forms of philosophical religion, the practice of piety and, as a scientific component, theoretical mathematics, stands out for his penchant for empirical research, which could be applied to botany, biology, medicine, geology, for the study and development of technology, and even, if we believe Damascus' account that during his journey from Athens to Aphrodisias he "studied men", then psychology.

Abstract Corporate foresight in the Czech Republic has been still a rather undiscovered and unmapped subject. This drawback is at least partly reduced by this article presenting results of a pioneer empirical research among Czech companies. Results of the research indicate that the level of utilization of foresight among Czech companies is low; on the other hand, the results suggest existence of a latent demand for foresight as a tool for increasing the capacities and capabilities to innovate. Innovation activities in companies are at the same time one of the most significant way to deal with contemporary economic and social development, characterized by a rapid technological progress and accelerating pace of change.

The present study uses a qualitative approach to understand the impact of COVID-19 on family life. Australian parents of children aged 0-18 years were recruited via social media between April 8th and April 28th, 2020, when Australians were experiencing social distancing/isolation measures for the first time. As part of a larger survey, participants were asked to respond via an open-ended question about how COVID-19 had impacted their family. A total of 2,130 parents were included and represented a diverse range of family backgrounds. Inductive template thematic analysis was used to understand patterns of meaning across the texts. Six themes were derived from the data, including: 'Boredom, depression and suicide: A spectrum of emotion'; 'Families are missing the things that keep them healthy'; 'Changing family relationships: The push pull of intimacy'; 'The unprecedented demands of parenthood'; 'The unequal burden of COVID-19'; and 'Holding on to positivity'. Overall, the findings demonstrated a breadth of responses. Messages around loss and challenge were predominant, with many families reporting mental health difficulties and strained family relationships. However, not all families were negatively impacted by the restrictions, with some families reporting positive benefits and meaning, including opportunities for strengthening relationships, finding new hobbies, and developing positive characteristics such as appreciation, gratitude and tolerance.

Two years in a row (1885 and 1886) Señora Teresa, a native and resident of Oaxaca de Juárez, pleaded with the court to prosecute her daughter's suitors. The first time, after seeing Primitiva chatting with Juan in the street and finding his love letter in her home, she grew apprehensive. She hurried to court when Primitiva disappeared that evening to accuse the young man of seducing and abducting her 13 year old daughter. Police officers apprehended the young couple and the judge listened to their testimonies. Primitiva swore that she was 16 years old and had run away to her aunt's home because she feared her mother's wrath at discovering the love missive. She further stated that she had in fact broken up with Juan some weeks earlier and that they had never engaged in sexual relations. The following year, Primitiva eloped with a different suitor and her mother surfaced in the historical record once more. This time she indicated that she saw her daughter conversing with Francisco in her home's doorway and after he spirited her naïve daughter away, he returned the next day to taunt her husband, boasting that “he took Primitiva because he was a man.” In both cases, Primitiva's mother demanded swift justice. She asked the judge to prosecute her daughter's seducers to the full extent of the law, arguing that Primitiva lacked the maturity to choose her mate wisely. Assenting to the indignant mother's wishes, judges ordered police officers to pick up both young men to face charges ofrapto(abduction by seduction) in municipal court. In the first case, the judge dropped the suit for lack of merit. In the latter case, the judge sided with Señora Teresa's minor daughter, in effect emancipating her from parental authority by allowing her to begin family life with her second suitor, Francisco.

This chapter reveals how caregivers responded to the mother's imprisonment both in the short and long term. The focus is directed more towards the primary kin caregivers as the ones assuming the bulk of the childcare responsibilities. The literature provides some insights into the disruption that looking after the children can have for caregivers, but the chapter takes a chronological examination to help better understand the process of assuming care. While doing so, it is important to remember that in 14 families, an added layer of uncertainty and confusion occurred because it was their first time navigating maternal imprisonment. The chapter studies renegotiations at three stages: caregivers' reactions to the news of the imprisonment and especially how the mother's sentence was unexpected; the initial response to the mother's imprisonment; and the longer-term renegotiations, focusing on the diverse and complex adjustments made to their roles, identities, practices, work commitments, and finances in order to provide care to the children on a more permanent basis.

Superconducting materials are a new kind of high-end technology materials mainly used in the fields of cutting-edge technology and military. However, the superiority of its various aspects is becoming familiar and understood gradually which steps this new material into all areas of the society. In the spirit of "people-oriented" principle, the purpose of every progress in science and technology or in any other field of social development is to accomplish people's all-round development, therefore, new technologies and new materials can always be integrated quickly into our daily life, in which they are improved and developed continuously. Family life is the most important element of people's daily life; therefore, given their superior properties, the wide application of superconducting materials to design household products is an inevitable trend in the future.
