The purpose of this study is to examine secondary school teachers' attitudes towards the Interactive Whiteboard (IWB). This study tries to reveal teachers' attitudes towards the IWB and the effects of gender, age, daily and weekly usage of the IWB on these attitudes. The search group consists of130 volunteer teachers who work in Çanakkale province in the 2012-2013 academic years. The data was collected via "Interactive Whiteboard Attitude Scale". The results of the research shows that the teachers promote positive attitudes towards the IWB and those attitudes doesn't change according to the age or gender. The study indicates that teachers develop positive attitudes towards IWB and there are no essentially age or gender differences in the attitudes of teachers towards IWB. It is clear in the study that the teachers who have used IWB for a long time and who have spent more time on IWB in a week have built more positive attitudes towards educational and motivational effects of IWB.

This study aimed at investigating the attitudes of secondary school teachers in Quwaiy’yah Governorate towards e- learning. To achieve the aim of the study, a questionnaire was developed and administered after testing its validity and reliability. This questionnaire consisted of 24 items. Means and standard deviations were calculated and one-way ANOVA was used to answer the study questions. T- test was used to answer the third and fourth questions.The results of the study showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the participants' attitudes towards e-learning due to experience and specialization. However, attending training courses was found a significant factor that affect teachers’ attitudes. Teachers who attended training courses showed more positive attitudes towards e-learning than teachers who did not attend training coursed. The study put forward some recommendations. An important implication is that teachers ought to attend training courses and workshops in e-learning.

    The current research aimed at identifying the technological competencies required for intermediate and secondary school teachers to activate the use of interactive whiteboards in the classroom. To achieve this goal, the question of technological competencies for middle and high school teachers was answered to activate the use of the interactive whiteboard in the classroom. Based on the objective of the research and its questions، the researcher used the descriptive method for its relevance to the research. The sample included (40) teachers of the intermediate and secondary stage in Al-Fursan Private Schools for Girls in Riyadh who used the Smartboard in teaching. The researcher used the questionnaire to collect the necessary data to answer the study questions. The responses were analyzed using the following statistical methods: frequencies، percentages, arithmetic mean، Pearson coefficient to measure the validity of the internal consistency of the study instrument، and Vacronbach coefficient in order to measure instrument stability. The most important results of the research are that the members of the research sample have three design competencies needed to activate the use of the interactive whiteboard in the classroom to a high degree: the ability to design a lesson، master the techniques of evaluation and the ability to design activities، all using interactive whiteboard. The study also concluded that incentives were given to the teacher who uses interactive whiteboard in teaching, and also to design modern buildings for educational institutions in accordance with the requirements of presentation and use of the interactive whiteboard in the classroom. The study recommended the educating middle and secondary school teachers about the importance of using interactive whiteboard in the educational process at all levels، and also working on attracting highly qualified human cadres for the success of the interactive whiteboard.

The chapter aimed to examine the relationship of leadership styles and attitude towards organizational change among 360 secondary school teachers in Selangor. Statistical analysis techniques, namely, mean and standard deviation, Pearson product moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis, were used. Findings indicated that although teachers perceived the leadership styles of their principals were only at the moderate level, teachers showed a high level of positive attitude towards organizational change. There were positive relationships between principals' leadership styles and teachers' attitudes towards organizational change. The results also revealed that 11.8% of the variance of attitude towards organizational change is explained by transformational leadership style. Hence, transformational leadership style has an influence on the teachers' attitudes towards organizational change. The practical implications of these findings were discussed to provide insights for the improvement on leadership practices towards organizational change in the secondary schools in Malaysia.

This paper analyses the pattern of responses of a representative sample of 841 Western Australian secondary school teachers to the Kerlinger Education Scale VII. The analysis shows clearly the two dimensional factor structure commonly postulated, with one factor bringing together the “progressive” educational referents, and the other bringing together the “traditional” educational referents. Interesting bivariate relationships, some of which may challenge conventional stereotypes, occur between scores on these orthogonal factors, and background variables of the teachers and situational variables of the schools. Not surprisingly, however, only a small proportion of the variation between teachers in progressivism and traditionalism can be accounted for by such variables.

Research shows that motivation and engagement are essential for effective learning and it is not an easy task to achieve. The latest technique to attract the students is to integrate humour in classroom teaching. Humour is an often-overlooked skill in teaching as the teachers are not trained in the use of humour and it is not a part of any curriculum and they consider teaching is a serious business and they are not supposed to be entertainers. Magic tricks represent one of the humour items that can be effectively used at all levels of teaching from schools to colleges. Also, it can be used as teaching aid and it can be termed as‘ice-breaker’. The ‘Primacy and recencey effect’ and ‘Zeigarnick effect’ gives a strong theoretical basis for the use of magic as an ‘ice-breaker’ in the class.  Magic tricks have many benefits in teaching such as it can break the monotony of a lecture, captures and retains student attention, make the students more receptive, expands student comprehension, increases opportunity for memory retention, creates nurturing environment for learning, improving communication skills, providing stress relief and creating an environment of trust. Teachers’ attitude towards the use of magic tricks in the class has an effect on their performance. An attitude survey was conducted to see the attitude of higher secondary school teachers towards the use of magic tricks in the classroom by using an attitude scale. The data collection for this study is limited to only 165 teachers who belong to higher secondary school of Wayanad District of Kerala, South India. Subject-wise comparison of the teachers also was done. The study exposes that the teachers’ positive attitude towards the use of humour especially magic tricks in the classroom. Magic tricks and other humour items are not a compulsory skill to be mastered and used on a regular interval by all teachers in the class; instead if it is used appropriately, it will definitely add an additional golden feather in the teacher’s cap.

Traditionally, teachers used to determine the learning of the students, they only decide about the knowledge and skills that need to be taught to the students but there has been a paradigm shift with the advent of new digital mediums. Now learning has evolved into a learning-centered, self-directed, social, peer-to-peer, inquiry-based and cooperative approach to education. ICT revolutionized learning for students and teachers. It has provided immense opportunities from connecting with people, accessing information, to availability of volumes of open educational resources. Education has transformed from pedagogy to new approaches like open pedagogy, self-education i.e., Peeragogy. No doubt these approaches will prove to be sustainable with the global health crises going on. Thus, this paper aims to recognize secondary school teachers’ technological acceptability and to investigate their preparation for Peeragogy and Open pedagogy. Data was collected through a Google form from 96 secondary school teachers from 22 Indian schools, and descriptive statistics were used to examine the results. The findings revealed that the secondary school teachers are quite enthusiastic about integrating technology in education and employing peeragogy and open pedagogy in their classrooms. This study on secondary school teachers’ attitudes towards technology, their readiness for Peeragogy and Open pedagogy, and the problems they experience is expected to offer educators with relevant information for future research.
