The purpose of this study was to adapt to Turkish and to determine the validity and reliability of the Scale for Esports Spectator Demand (SESD), which was developed to determine the demands of the viewers who follow the esports broadcasts by Qian, Zhang, Wang and Hulland (2020). After the Turkish form equivalence test, the scale was applied to viewers who following esports broadcasts on the online broadcast network "Twitch". A total of 495 volunteers (21.43 ± 3.50), 423 men (21.71 ± 3.51), and 72 women (19.75 ± 2.95), aged between 18-32, participated in the online study. Exploratory (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed on the data obtained. A total of 7 factors were determined with EFA, respectively, 4 overlapping items (21-11-18-29), 2 items that make up a single factor (19-20) and the 30th item that disrupted the meaning integrity of the factor to which it belongs were removed from the scale. It was seen that the model consisting of the remaining 25 items and 6 dimensions explained 67.278% variance and the 6-factor model had an acceptable fit as a result of CFA. (χ2/df=2,622; GFI=,896; AGFI=,892; CFI=,918; NFI=,902; RMR=,064; RMSEA=,071). It was determined that the internal consistency coefficients of the scale on the basis of sub-dimensions ranged between .755 and .863, and the overall internal consistency coefficient was α = .924 As a result, it was determined that the Scale for Esports Spectator Demand (SESD), adapted to Turkish, can be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine the demands of esports spectator. Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. The aim of this study is to develop a measurement tool to measure the attitudes of pre-service teachers in science fields towards nanotechnology. For this purpose, a five-point Likert-type scale consisting of 55 items was applied to 373 pre-service teachers who are enrolled in science fields (Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics) at the grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at a public university in Turkey. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA), it was determined that the scale had a 3-factor structure consisting of 24 items and the factors explained 55.854% of the total variance of the attitude variable. Verification of the model was tested by applying confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The data used for CFA were obtained from 770 pre-service teachers who are enrolled in science fields at the grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at two different public universities in Turkey. The results obtained from CFA were in agreement with model obtained by EFA. Cronbach's alpha (Cr-α) reliability of the scale was calculated to be 0.926. Findings from the validity and reliability analyzes show that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to measure pre-service science fields teachers’ attitudes toward nanotechnology.

The study examines the factor structure, internal consistency, concurrent and discriminant validity, and test-retest reliability of the Exercise Dependence Scale-Revised scores (EDS-R: Symons-Downs, Hausenblas, & Niggs, 2004 ) in a sample of Greek exercise participants. The Greek translation of the EDS-R was completed by 581 exercise participants along with measures of exercise addiction. Confirmatory factor analysis provided support for the hypothesized EDS-R correlated 7-factor model along with evidence for strong item loadings and factor discriminant validity. Further evidence emerged in favor of the internal consistency, concurrent validity, and test-retest reliability of the translated EDS-R scores. The results provide initial support for various aspects of the validity and reliability of the translated-into-Greek EDS-R scores.

Quantitative research model was used in the study, which aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to measure the level of anxiety of catching novel coronavirus (Covid-19). A total of 356 athletes participated in the study consisting of two study groups. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used to determine the construct validity of the scale. As a result of the EFA, it was seen that ACNCS explained 57.80 of the total variance, the scale items were collected in two factors as individual anxiety and socialization anxiety and that the scale was composed of 16 items. The conformity of the structure determined with EFA to the sample data was tested with CFA and it was determined that the fit indices resulting from EFA confirm the two-factor structure obtained in EFA. In line with the internal consistency analysis and test-retest analysis conducted to test the reliability of ACNCS, it was determined that the scale has a highly reliable and time-stable structure. Within the scope of item analysis, 27% lower-upper group score differences were found to be significant and the total test correlation values of the item varied between .56 and .78. As a result of all these analyses, Anxiety of Catching Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Scale was found to be a valid and reliable measurement tool. Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. Özet Yeni tip koronavirüse (Covid-19) yakalanma kaygısı düzeyini ölçecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracının geliştirilmesinin amaçlandığı araştırmada nicel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. İki çalışma grubundan oluşan araştırmaya toplam 356 sporcu katılmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliliğini saptamak için, açımlayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) ile doğrulayıcı faktör analizinden (DFA) yararlanılmıştır. The study aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool for determining the recreational flow experience. For this purpose, an item pool consisting of 18 items was created. In line with expert opinions, items that were not suitable for the structure of the scale were removed from the scale. The 12-item form was first applied to 542 people (336 males and 206 females; age =23.39±3.44), who were selected by purposeful sampling method, in order to determine the scale structure and to create the items. Exploratory factor analysis was carried out with the data obtained through the SPSS 23.0 package program. As a result of the analysis, a single factor with 9 items was determined that explained 53.986% of the total variance. Then, in order to verify the validity of the scale, a questionnaire study was applied to a new group with a total of 150 people ( age =30.09±8.69), 108 men and 42 women. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed using the data obtained with the AMOS 23.0 package program. It was determined that the result of confirmatory factor analysis fit the model data well. When the results obtained in the evaluation of the measurement model were evaluated as a whole, the Recreational Flow Experience Scale (RFES) consisting of 9 items and a single factor was defined with sufficient validity and reliability. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications for the research were discussed. Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. This study aimed to develop a cybersecurity scale to measure individuals’ practices and perceptions regarding cybersecurity. The study tested psychometric properties of the Cybersecurity Scale (CS-S) by employing a multi-stage research design. In the first study, an Exploratory-Factor-Analysis (EFA) was conducted to explore the underlying factor structure and evaluate internal consistency reliability of the CS-S. The EFA results showed good internal consistency reliability (α = .88) and a six-factor structure. In the second study, a Confirmatory-Factor-Analysis (CFA) was conducted to verify the factor structure. The CFA results indicated that the six-factor model (i.e., confidentiality, control/possession, integrity, authenticity, availability, and utility) fits the data well. Significant individual differences were observed in each dimension of the CS-S. Results indicated that the CS-S has evidence of convergent, discriminant, and construct validity along with internal consistency reliability. The results suggested that the CS-S is a valid and reliable instrument to measure individuals’ cybersecurity practices and perceptions.

The purpose of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of the Pictorial Scale for Perceived Movement Skill Competence (PMSC) in Chinese children. A total of 241 children (girls, n = 119) aged 4 to 9 years old (6.9 ± 1.53) participated. One week later two random subsamples were selected. One (n = 52) was to determine face validity and the other (n = 56) was to determine test-retest reliability. Internal consistency analyses through Cronbach’s alpha and construct validity by confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. Results showed (a) face validity was better for object control skills; (b) internal consistency was adequate for each subscale and all 13 skills (alpha range from .73–.87); (c) Intra-Class Correlations were good for locomotor (.62), object control (.73), and all 13 skills (.78); and (d) the modified two-factor model had a good fit (CFI = .96, TLI = .94, RMSEA = .04, SRMR = .05). The Chinese version of the PMSC is appropriate to use; however, considering the participants were only from Shanghai, results may not be generalizable to all Chinese children.

This study has two aims: to examine the psychometric properties of the Three-Dimensional Contribution Scale in adults and to reveal how the contribution supports authenticity. To attain the first aim, a total of 198 individuals (105 females, 93 males) were included in the study. The result of the confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the scale maintained its three-factor structure. The internal consistency coefficient of the scale was determined to be.88. Regarding the criterion-related validity, a significant positive relationship was determined between the Three-Dimensional Contribution Scale and the Brief Resilience Scale. As a result, it can be said that the present scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to determine contribution levels in adults. To accomplish the second aim of the study, a total of 383 individuals (184 females, 197 males, and two individuals with no sex specification) were enrolled in the study. The examination of the findings of the simple linear regression analysis of authenticity and the subscales of authenticity indicated that contribution supported the authentic living subscale of the authenticity positively. However, it was also found that contribution supported the self-alienation subscale of the authenticity negatively and that there was no significant relationship between the acceptance of external influences subscale and the total score of authenticity. In conclusion, it can be said that as the level of contribution increases, the authenticity of individuals will increase, as well.

Purpose of this study is to adapt Behavioral Regulation in Sports Questionaire  (BRSQ) which developed by Lonsdale, Hodge and Rose (2008) in Turkish and review psychometry properties. The scale consists of 24 items and 6 subdimension including intrinsic motivation, integrated regulation, identitied regulation, introjected regulation, external regulation and amotivation. Study group consists of total 681 student- athlete whom are licensed athletes and study at Physical Education and Sports College of Ahi Evran University, Erciyes University, Dumlupinar University and Çanakkale 18 Mart University. In order to determine psychometry properties of scale internal consistency, material and factor analysis and test- retest methods were applied. Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient of the measurement determined as follows; 0.790 for total points, 0.856 for intrinsic motivation subdimension, 0.838 for integrated regulation subdimension, 0.862 for identitied regulation subdimension, 0.740 for introjected regulation subdimension, 0.788 for external regulation subdimension and 0.800 for amotivation subdimension. In the analyzes performed, the data obtained from the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the 6-factor structure of the scale. In addition, scale-based analyzes yielded high test-retest scores. In this sense, it is considered that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for the Turkish sample group.
