The aim of this study is to develop a measurement tool to measure the attitudes of pre-service teachers in science fields towards nanotechnology. For this purpose, a five-point Likert-type scale consisting of 55 items was applied to 373 pre-service teachers who are enrolled in science fields (Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics) at the grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at a public university in Turkey. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA), it was determined that the scale had a 3-factor structure consisting of 24 items and the factors explained 55.854% of the total variance of the attitude variable. Verification of the model was tested by applying confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The data used for CFA were obtained from 770 pre-service teachers who are enrolled in science fields at the grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at two different public universities in Turkey. The results obtained from CFA were in agreement with model obtained by EFA. Cronbach's alpha (Cr-α) reliability of the scale was calculated to be 0.926. Findings from the validity and reliability analyzes show that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to measure pre-service science fields teachers’ attitudes toward nanotechnology.

Phubbing is defined as ignoring people with whom you have a face-to-face relationship to attend to smartphones. The phenomenon of phubbing particularly affects the teenage and young segments of the population. The main problem lies in the impact it has on individuals’ social relationship. A lack of validated instruments to diagnose this phenomenon has been observed amongst the Spanish-speaking youth. The objective pursued with this research was to analyse the structural validity and reliability of the Spanish scale in a sample of 454 Peruvian university students. A reliability study was carried out following Cronbach and McDonald, complemented with an exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The results show good reliability and validity values. Finally, some aspects associated with users’ profiles in relation to the scale were discussed too. A need exists to have adapted instruments which permit to measure emerging social threats such as phubbing, so that risk profiles can be identified and for us to be able to act in time. Most of the students surveyed regularly engaged in phubbing, and a significant percentage of them had personal and social problems because of this, including lack of sleep hours or arguments with friends and relatives, to quote but two.

This study has two aims: to examine the psychometric properties of the Three-Dimensional Contribution Scale in adults and to reveal how the contribution supports authenticity. To attain the first aim, a total of 198 individuals (105 females, 93 males) were included in the study. The result of the confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the scale maintained its three-factor structure. The internal consistency coefficient of the scale was determined to be.88. Regarding the criterion-related validity, a significant positive relationship was determined between the Three-Dimensional Contribution Scale and the Brief Resilience Scale. As a result, it can be said that the present scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to determine contribution levels in adults. To accomplish the second aim of the study, a total of 383 individuals (184 females, 197 males, and two individuals with no sex specification) were enrolled in the study. The examination of the findings of the simple linear regression analysis of authenticity and the subscales of authenticity indicated that contribution supported the authentic living subscale of the authenticity positively. However, it was also found that contribution supported the self-alienation subscale of the authenticity negatively and that there was no significant relationship between the acceptance of external influences subscale and the total score of authenticity. In conclusion, it can be said that as the level of contribution increases, the authenticity of individuals will increase, as well.

Management processes that are included in the concept of management and described as the main functions of the manager are classified as planning, organizing, ordering, coordination and supervision by Fayol. The effectiveness of management depends on the effective use of management processes. In Turkey, there are some studies about the management processes in schools, but it seems that these are not enough numbers. The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable scale aimed at examining the effectiveness of management processes in schools, according to teacher opinions. The study group of the researchers constitutes 1310 teachers working in the central districts of Samsun in the academic year 2013-2014. Expert opinion is consulted for the scope validity and appearance of the scale and Indicator Factor Analysis is used to indicate the validity of the structure. According to the results of the analysis, it is understood that your scale measures a single factor. In addition, these results are verified by Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient is used to determine the reliability of the scale. For all of your scale, this value was found to be ,982. These results show that the scale of the efficacy of the management processes in school management is a valid and reliable scale in which the teacher's views can be used.
