    The diversity of Dioscorea spp. both inter-species and intra-species are spreaded in several areas in Central Java, including Banjarnegara.  Dioscorea is a  plant that has the potentials to be developed and cultivated. The purposes of this reasearch are to identify the species, characterize the morphological characters (stem, leaf, and tuber) of eight varians Dioscorea spp from Banjarnegara. The sample used in this reasearch are the eight varians of Dioscorea spp from Banjarnegara.  The Identification was done by using a identification keys. Characterization of morphological characters was done by using the guidebook of Descriptor for Yam. The results showed that eight cultivars of Dioscorea spp are grouped into two types: Dioscorea alata and Dioscorea esculenta. Dioscorea alata has a stem which rotate the to the right, rectangular shaped of stem, it’s has wing and doesn’t have a spin, elongated heart-shaped leaves, oval-oblong and round shaped tuber. Dioscorea esculenta has a stem which rotate to the left, rounded shaped of stem, it has not wing but spiked, dilated heart-shaped leaf, and oval shape tuber.  Keywords: Dioscorea spp, identifikasi, characteristic, morphology,

<p>The efforts of Bamboo conservation have been conducted by botanical gardens in Indonesia, including the Indrokilo Botanical Garden, Central Java. Scientific information regarding the bamboo collection of the Indrokilo Botanical Garden, however, is not yet available. This study aimed to determine the diversity of the species, as well as, to provide a synopsis and the similarity analysis of the bamboo species in the Indrokilo Botanical Garden. Exploration and collection of bamboo specimens have been carried out by the Indrokilo Botanical Garden. Processing and identification of the specimens were carried out at Herbarium Bogoriense. A total of 27 morphological characters were used for similarity analysis using the UPGMA method with Nei &amp; Li similarity coefficients. The data were analyzed descriptively. There are seven species of bamboo in the Indrokilo Botanical Garden: Bambusa glaucophylla, B. lako, B. multiplex, B. vulgaris, Dendrocalamus sp., Guadua cf. angustifolia, and Schizostachyum sp. A synopsis of the bamboo species and their identification keys to the species were provided. Based on the similarity analysis, bamboo in the Indrokilo Botanical Garden consists of five groups at a similarity index of 70%. The diversity of bamboo species in the Indrokilo Botanical Garden is relatively low compared to some botanical gardens in Indonesia.</p>

Abstract Borobudur Conservation Center Magelang, Central Java Indonesia, has received underwater cannonball heritage in the shipwreck from the sea Batavia Jakarta Indonesia. This heritage is a shipment from the Directorate for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage and the Destruction of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. This study aims to the conservation of underwater cannonball before being stored in a museum. Removal of the protective cover crust of iron artifacts without the correct and proper method can cause the more quickly the process of corrosion. To prevent this more damaging, the conservation of artifacts in the right solution is necessary. This research aims to stop the process of corrosion and conserve objects of iron in aqueous alkali corrosion potential measurement through there. Conservation of this research was conduct in four stages. The first stage is the identification of weathering, and the second stage is the analysis and characterization of surface corrosion object using the handy microscope, XRD (x-ray Diffraction), XRF (x-ray Fluorescence), and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy). The third stage is the passivation/deactivation process of corrosion using sodium hydroxide, soap water and kaffir lime water. The fourth stage is stabilization/coating of materials iron cannonball underwater heritage as soon as possible using microcrystalline wax so as not further corrosion process going so that this stage should be able to complete the conservation problems of the object until they can last for the long term. Characterization of dry and wet activated corrosion using XRD obtained mineral akaganeite. Akaganeite minerals showed active corrosion containing high concentrations of Cl atoms for dry and wet activated corrosion 66.603% and 64.963%, respectively. After being conserved with several steps and using NaOH, soap water and kaffir lime water show inactive corrosion. Based on the results of analysis with XRF cannonball does not contain Cl and Fe content reaches 98.99%. The conservation method used in this research is excellent and appropriate to conserve the objects of cultural heritage cannonball material underwater iron heritage.

The study was conducted from April 2019 to Maret 2020 in a community forest in the village of Karang Kembang, Tunjungan district, Blora. The objective of the research was to characterize the morphology of Durian Monthok from Blora. The research directly developed the morphological characters of such durian from Blora. Description format durian plants have been arranged in the form of standard blanks. The results showed that Durian Monthok had a greyed-orange flower (163C), moderate yellow (161A) skin, weight rate of 1, 877-2,172 kg. It was also determined that Durian Monthok had an oblong fruit shape, light greenish-yellow (8C) flesh, fluffier sweet taste, and had a fragrant aroma.

Justice that has not existed and is apparent among the disabilities in Indonesia is very large and spread in the archipelago is very large, making the issue of equality is a very important thing especially with the publication of the Disability Act No. 8 of 2016 at the beginning of that year. Only a few provinces that understand properly and well on open and potential issues and issues will affect other areas including the increasingly growing number of elderly people in Indonesia due to the increasing welfare of the people. The government of DKI Jakarta, including the most concerned with disability, from the beginning has set a bold step to defend things related to disability, including local governments in Solo, Bali, Makassar and several other areas. Leprosy belonging to the disability community has a very tough marginalization, the disability that arises from leprosy quite a lot, reaches ten percent more and covers the poor areas of Indonesia, such as Nusa Tenggara Timur, Papua, South Sulawesi Provinces and even East Java and West Java and Central Java Provinces. If we compare again with the ASEAN countries we also do not miss the moment in ratifying the CRPD (Convention of Rights for People with Disability) into the Law of Disability No. 8 of 2016 which, although already published but still get rejections in some sections because do not provide proper empowerment and rights equality. The struggle is long and must be continued to build equal rights in all areas, not only health and welfare but also in the right of the right to receive continuous inclusive education.

Agrobacterium tumefaciens is a pathogen of various plants which transfers its own DNA (T-DNA) to the host plants. It is used for producing genetically modified plants with this ability. To control T-DNA transfer to the right place, toxin-antitoxin (TA) systems of A. tumefaciens were used to control the target site of transfer without any unintentional targeting. Here, we describe a toxin-antitoxin system, Atu0939 (mazE-at) and Atu0940 (mazF-at), in the chromosome of Agrobacterium tumefaciens. The toxin in the TA system has 33.3% identity and 45.5% similarity with MazF in Escherichia coli. The expression of MazF-at caused cell growth inhibition, while cells with MazF-at co-expressed with MazE-at grew normally. In vivo and in vitro assays revealed that MazF-at inhibited protein synthesis by decreasing the cellular mRNA stability. Moreover, the catalytic residue of MazF-at was determined to be the 24th glutamic acid using site-directed mutagenesis. From the results, we concluded that MazF-at is a type II toxin-antitoxin system and a ribosome-independent endoribonuclease. Here, we characterized a TA system in A. tumefaciens whose understanding might help to find its physiological function and to develop further applications.

A functional centromere located on a small DNA restriction fragment from Saccharomyces cerevisiae was identified as CEN14 by integrating centromere-adjacent DNA plus the URA3 gene by homologous recombination into the yeast genome and then by localizing the URA3 gene to chromosome XIV by standard tetrad analysis. DNA sequence analysis revealed that CEN14 possesses sequences (elements I, II, and III) that are characteristic of other yeast centromeres. Mitotic and meiotic analyses indicated that the CEN14 function resides on a 259-base-pair (bp) RsaI-EcoRV restriction fragment, containing sequences that extend only 27 bp to the right of the element I to III region. In conjunction with previous findings on CEN3 and CEN11, these results indicate that the specific DNA sequences required in cis for yeast centromere function are contained within a region about 150 bp in length.

Abstract Background Despite the recent advances in liver imaging, the detection and characterization of small hepatic focal lesions is still a real challenge. Particularly in cancer patients where the characterization of a small HFL as thus the precise tumor staging is critical for optimal treatment planning. Aim of the Work To explore the effectiveness, and hence the clinical utility, of MRI detection and characterization of small focal hepatic lesions either only discovered on MRI or as a further work up of CT/US-indeterminate lesions. Patients and Methods We reviewed our database for individuals who underwent liver MR imaging between March 2018 and March 2019 for the evaluation of small hepatic lesions that were discovered for the first time or had been previously visualized on routinely performed CT and had been considered indeterminate. Results The present study included 44 patients of which 26 were males (59.1%) and 18 were females (40.9%). The age range of the study group was 19 to 77 years. The mean age for Malignant lesions was 51 years. The right lobe of liver was involved in 23 cases (52.3%), left lobe in 5 cases (11.4%) and both lobes in 16 cases (36.4%). There were 30 (68.18%) benign, 13 (29.54%) malignant lesions and 1 (2.3%) indeterminate, hemangiomas were predominant in benign lesions whereas hepatocellular carcinomas were predominant in malignant lesions. N'TRI could characterize 92% cases. Conclusion The diagnostic process of small hepatic focal lesions, either detection or characterization or both, continues to represent a challenge. Contrast-enhanced MR can accurately detect and characterize majority of small hepatic focal lesions.
