There have been many theories applied to explain entrepreneurship and its factors. A majority have not explained an entrepreneurial process entirely. This paper builds on existing theoretical and empirical studies to detail and expand the Entrepreneurial Value Creation Model to provide a complete theoretical model of the entrepreneurship process for empirical studies in the future. Three main contributions of the research include: (1) a detailed entrepreneurial value creation model; (2) a review of 8 types of research related to Entrepreneurial Value Creation theory; and (3) seven factors influencing entrepreneurial intention and five factors influencing opportunity recognition added to the model.

Purpose This study aims to address the factors influencing customer loyalty in social commerce (SC) sites from different standpoints with the intention to use the “variety-seeking” perspective and social impact theory as the foundation of the theoretical model. Specifically, it examined the factors capable of diverting user loyalty from using the current platform to other SC sites. Design/methodology/approach The theoretical model developed consists of five factors, including the intention to switch, perceived herd behavior, life events, satiation and hedonic motivation. However, this proposed model was validated by 568 users of SC in Indonesia. Findings The result showed that all direct and indirect predictors of the dependent variable were statistically significant except the direct effect of the perceived herd behavior. Meanwhile, age, income, and experience were found to have a significant moderating effect on the direct influence on the dependent variable. Originality/value This study is different from previous studies in SC, which focused on customer loyalty. It makes an alternative approach by investigating a “negative” factor capable of diverting user attention and commitment with the current SC platform, which leads to switching to another SC.

Entrepreneurship and new venture creation are seen as important drivers of media industry’s change and renewal. However, whether newly founded companies will emerge in the future depends to a large extent on entrepreneurial individuals. Through a survey of students from 47 German universities ( N = 720), this study identifies critical factors that explain the entrepreneurial intention of today’s mass communication students, who are likely to be among the future start-up founders in journalism and media industry. Conclusions drawn indicate possibilities for the early identification of potential media entrepreneurs and their ongoing encouragement by journalism and mass communication educators.

Productivity is playing a significant role in economic development of a nation. In the context of global and regional competition, productivity is critically important to industries in general and to firms/enterprises in a paucity. Especially, to developing countries, labour productivity is one of the most crucial determinants. A number of existing literature have involved productivity and factors influencing productivity in different ways and perspectives. However, most past studies have examined productivity across developed countries which may have conditions differ significantly from those of developing countries such as Vietnam. Alternately, based on results/findings of the previous empirical studies, researchers have just proposed a portfolio of factors having an effect on firm productivity. Moreover, there is a lack of an appropriate theoretical model into and out of these works. Therefore, this paper aims to bridge the gap in existing knowledge. The work introduces three sections. The first involves reviewing related literature on research topic. Seeking published and un published information relating to productivity area helps author to put forward a model which dig for main determinants to exert an impact on firm productivity. The second demonstrates quantitative research about key factors governing productivity of textile and garment firms/enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City. The last proposes a need for further research to test the recommended theoretical model.

Abstract. Delay discounting (DD) is the process of devaluing results that happen in the future. With this review, we intend to identify specificities in the processes of DD in impulsive behavior. Studies were retrieved from multiple literature databases, through rigorous criteria (we included systematic reviews and empirical studies with adult human subjects), following the procedures of the Cochrane Collaboration initiative. Of the 174 documents obtained, 19 were considered eligible for inclusion and were retained for in-depth analysis. In addition, 13 studies from the manual search were included. Thus, a total of 32 studies were selected for review. The objectives/hypotheses, results, and the main conclusion(s) were extracted from each study. Results show that people with pronounced traits of impulsivity discount rewards more markedly, that is, they prefer immediate rewards, though of less value, or postponed losses, even though they worsen in the future. Taken together, the existing data suggest the importance of inserting DD as a tool for initial assessment in conjunction with measures of addiction and stress level, as well as the consideration of new therapies.

Subject. In the uncertain market environment, the optimal structure of capital is getting more important because it influences the competitiveness of a firm, its financial sustainability and solvency and, consequently, a success. Herein we dwell upon the hypothesis presuming the existence of capital structure determinants. Objectives. We review empirical studies on the subject, analyze determinants of the Russian companies’ capital structure. Methods. The study is based on the systems approach and methods of statistical analysis. Results. It is necessary to monitor how capital is shaped and formed. We investigated proceedings on factors influencing the capital structure and discovered relevant hypotheses, carrying out the correlation analysis of such factors. Conclusions and Relevance. It is especially important to examine factors influencing the capital structure, and find the appropriate format for the economy struggling through the crisis. The coronavirus pandemic unavoidably reshapes the global economic landscape, which has already been under the pressure of deglobalization processes (trade wars, repudiation of oil contracts). The correlation analysis did not reveal any relationship of the variables in question (the company’s age, ROE, ROA, MOEX, key rate, GDP, PPI) and the capital structure. Further research should be devoted to other factors and consider the unreasonableness and psychological background of managers’ behavior who make decisions concerning the capital structure.

Studying the current state of cartography and ways of further developing the industry, the role of the map in the future of the society, new methods of promoting cartographic products is impossible without a deep scientific analyzing all the paths, events and factors influencing its formation and development throughout all the historic steps of cartographic production in Russia. In the article, the history of cartographic production in Russia is considered together with the development of private, state and military cartography, since, despite some differences, they have a common technical, technological and production basis. The author describes the stages of originating, formation and growth of industrial cartographic production from the beginning of the XVIII century until now. The connection between the change of political formations and technological structures with the mentioned stages of maps and atlases production is considered. Each stage is studied in detail, a step-by-step analysis was carried out, and the characteristics of each stage are described. All the events and facts are given in chronological order, highlighting especially significant moments influencing the evolution of cartographic production. The data on the volumes of printing and sales of atlases and maps by commercial and state enterprises are presented. The main trends and lines of further development of cartographic production in Russia are studied.

This article develops a framework for applying organizational narrative theory to understand project narratives that potentially perform and change the future. Project narratives are temporal but often get repeated throughout the project life cycle to stabilize meaning, and could be about project mission, vision, identity, value creation, and so forth. Project narratives have important implications for organizational identity and image crafting. This article differentiates among different types of project narratives in relation to a project life cycle, providing case studies of project narratives on three major UK rail projects. We then set out the future research agenda into project narrative work.

PurposeThrough a multiple case study design, this article elaborates the chances of initiating and/or implementing responsible management education (RME) in Egyptian public business schools after the identification of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In other words, this paper identifies the effect of COVID-19 on internalizing RME in the previously mentioned context.Design/methodology/approachThrough addressing four business schools in Egypt, this article explores the future of public business schools that did not previously implement responsible management education (RME) principles, after the identification of COVID-19. In other words, this paper identifies the main threats facing public business schools in Egypt post the spread of COVID-19.FindingsAlthough the previous study done by Mousa et al. (2019a) showed that academics in public business schools in Egypt were not ready to implement responsible management education, and furthermore, that they thought that addressing socio-cultural aspects is the mission of professors in sociology and humanities, the results of this study show that the spread of COVID-19 has positively changed the situation. The interviewed academics assert that socio-cultural challenges shape the minds of business students, academics and trainers, and these accordingly, have to be tackled. Furthermore, the author explores some socio-political, academic and labour market threats facing business schools in Egypt today. Managing those threats may ensure the continuity of the addressed business schools and their counterparts.Originality/valueThis paper contributes by filling a gap in the literature on responsible management education and leadership in the higher education sector, in which empirical studies on the future of business schools, particularly those that did not implement responsible management education earlier, after the identification and spread of COVID-19 have been limited until now.

Trotz Streben nach dem Automatisieren von Produktionsprozessen in vielen Bereichen werden manuelle Tätigkeiten auch in Zukunft einen hohen Stellenwert bei der Wertschöpfung einnehmen. Ein Ansatz zur Lösung der damit verbundenen Herausforderungen sind Unterstützungssysteme nach dem Konzept des „Human Hybrid Robot – HHR“. Dieser Beitrag stellt konzeptionelle Überlegungen für entsprechende Systeme am Beispiel des Schäftens von Strukturen aus kohlefaserverstärkten Kunststoffen (CFK) vor.   Despite all efforts for the automation of production processes in numerous areas, manual tasks will continue to play an important role within value creation chains in the future. Support systems based on the concept of the “Human Hybrid Robot – HHR” are one approach to solve the challenges related to this. On this basis, the article introduces conceptual considerations for appropriate systems using the example of scarfing of carbon fiber reinforced plastic structures.
