These are Sunni-Shia differences in doctrine, ritual, law, and religious organization; the singular role of Sunni Islam’s Wahhabi doctrine in the rise of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, occupying four-fifths of the Arabian Peninsula, starting with the small First Saudi State (1744-1818), followed by the Second Saudi State (1824-1891); the salience of Saudi Arabia as the birthplace of Islam and the site of the Kaaba, the centerpiece of the Hajj pilgrimage; and the social, economic and demographic differences between Iran and Saudi Arabia; and their reasons for claiming exceptionalism. Overall, the Introduction serves the function of a framing chapter.

There is a lack of studies on innovations and competitiveness in Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia; to fell this gap, this paper will study change as the competitive advantage for Small and Medium Enterprises: the case for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study aims to explore different practices of SMEs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to examine the impact of innovation strategies (Organizational, Product, Process, and Market) on the competitive advantage of SMEs. The study was conducted on one hundred and forty-seven (147) SMEs that are practicing different activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study's analysis indicates that most of the enterprises were young (operation years were less than ten years), which shows the strong need to apply innovative strategies to maintain their position and competitiveness in the market. Competitive advantage enables the firm to utilize its resources efficiently and maintain high levels of quality performance. The results show that the correlation between Innovation strategies such as product innovation strategy, market innovation strategy, process innovation strategy, and organizational innovation strategy practiced by SMEs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and competitiveness was Positive. Therefore, it indicates that different innovation strategies were significantly influencing the competitiveness of the SMEs. To remain a competitor enterprise in the market is not a natural or an easy attempt, and it can be challenging for SMEs, especially without the needed knowledge and support. Findings and recommendations of the study can be used as a guideline for SMEs. Also, emphasizing on the importance of education that plays a vital role in SMEs innovations. It is essential to establish with different research centers and universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia programs or activities that focus on changes in business, and it will result in gaining competitive advantage and sustainability for Small and Medium Enterprises in the market. The aim of this research is to analyze the most important obstacles and challenges facing small and medium enterprises within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of international experiences, and to analyze and evaluate the role of the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority “Monshaat” in facing challenges facing small and medium enterprises inside the Kingdom; and to know the true reality of small and medium enterprises in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as reaching the hoped- for according to 2030 Vision, which aims to reform the Saudi economy and continue its growth and end its dependence on oil as a main source of income. The researcher analyzed the current situation of small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and compared them to the global situation through studying and analyzing leading global experiences and identifying aspects of benefiting from them. The research relied on the deductive approach, which is the approach that begins with the theory and ends with its applicability to the ground. The research also used the descriptive approach to describe the topic of the research, its importance, goals, and the most important studies that dealt with the role of small projects in economic development both inside and outside the Kingdom. The comparative approach to making comparisons from and reviewing the experiences of other countries and extracting lessons learned from them. It also relied on the standard method, which aims to measure economic phenomena and variables. This research found that there are many difficulties that hinder these projects from achieving the goals of the vision, including obtaining financing, as the rate of financing small enterprises does not exceed 5% of the total financing in the Kingdom. It is a small percentage compared to international rates. The result is a decrease in the contribution of small and medium enterprises to the gross domestic product if they do not exceed 20% and 53% of jobs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom's Vision 2030 aims to raise this percentage to 35% by 2030, and this percentage reaches about 70% in developed countries, The number of small enterprises reached 12% of the number of projects for the year 2018, and it contributes about 29% of the total revenues of enterprises, according to the data for the second quarter of 2016. The researcher recommends decision- makers and those who are interested in business leaders inside the Kingdom to overcome the challenges facing small projects and entrepreneurs by providing them with adequate support, whether material or logistical support or both together, and work to establish a financial fund to finance small and medium projects with low benefits, and share the fund with proportions Certain of the annual profits during a specific period, depending on the value of the loan, the size of the facility, the value of revenue, the idea of ​​the project, and converting the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kingdom into an independent ministry whose mission is to take great care of small projects and For medium.

Despite the importance of promoting entrepreneurship in business activities to achieve a competitive advantage, a large proportion of business firms fail to make entrepreneurship a reality in their work. In addition, these constraints make it possible to gain a competitive advantage in the problems of the market in particular that modern markets are full of rivals and fast-paced changes in various variables. In light of this, the researcher carried out this study to investigate the role of entrepreneurship in achieving competitive advantage in SMEs. By using the descriptive-analytical approach, developing a questionnaire tool and distributing it to a sample of 100 administrators working in SMEs in Saudi Arabia. The results of the study showed that there is a positive relationship in the role of entrepreneurship in achieving competitive advantage in small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The economic challenge in the era of ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) is economic competition in the ASEAN countries. Consequently, efforts to improve Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) must be sustainable and should be done by synergizing among the social community, higher education, and the business community. To implement it, Jamberejo village of Kedungadem Sub-district, Bojonegoro developed assets that the social community has, that is banana bark which was able to be used as crafts that have economic value. By using Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, 57 women and higher education were invited to make crafts from banana bark to be used as a home industry business. Based on 6 samples of product, the business got a profit of Rp. 2,100,000. Return of Investment (ROI) is about 2.2 months. Then the average income level of the Jamberejo people has increased by 42.9% or equivalent to Rp. 900,000 per month. It happened after they got a mentoring program for the innovation of banana bark

From the beginning of Islam to date, the scholars interpreted the Holy Qurʾān, all over the world. They performed their responsibilities of explaining the Holy Qurʾān according to the circumstances. As result of this, they left massive heritage in the field of Tafsir. However a large number of these books could not be pupblished and vanished with the pasage of time and huge number of these scholarly works is available in two forms; published and manuscript. Libraries of Turkey, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Berlin, Leiden and Sub-continent, are proud to have antique manuscripts. Tafsir Talkhis-ud-Durar of Allama Abdul Hameed Bin Abdul Majeed Al-Hakimi (514 A.H) is one of the notable manuscripts scholarship in the field of Tafsir. The manuscript is available in Noor-e-Usmania Library, Istanbul, Turkey, which is famous for the preservation of Islamic literature. The manuscript of Tafsir Talkhis-ud-Durar, exists in one volumes of 425 sheets, each sheet contain two parallel pages. The language of the manuscript is Arabic, and scribe style is Arabic Naskh, while scribe used red color for Qurʾānic words and the black for the interpretation. This corpus of Tafsir is a valuable treasure of a well-learned and prolific brain of Allama Abdul Hameed Bin Abdul Majeed Al-Hakimi. He not only interprets the text of the Holy Qurʾān literally but also tries to relate the Qurʾānic message to the contemporary problems of his era, ranging from the life of individual to the broad spectrum of the collective sphere life. We may consider it among early interpretations of the Holy Qurʾān, which are far away from sectarianism and focus on message of the Holy Qurʾān and deal specifically with the social problems of the Muslims world. In the view of its important the Department of Tafsir and Quranic Sciences at the Faculty of Usuluddin, Internationa Islamic University made it a research project to be edited by four PhD students of the Department; the details are as follow: . Muhammad Esmaeel Haqani; from Sheet: 1 to 74 (Surah Al-Fatiha to Surah Al-Maida and first pard of the thesis containg introduction of the manuscript and the author and the scribe and mathodology of the author in detail.) Nasrullah tend to edit the manuscript of this interpretation and devided in to fifteen chapber beginning from Surah al-An’am to end of Surah Taha, (sheet no: 74 to 189 of the manuscript). The thesis also contains a a brief preface containing basic information about the manuscript, the scribe, the auhor and his mathodology in his Tafsir. Abdul Rahman tend to edit the manuscript of this interpretation beginning from Surah al-Anbia to end of Surah Ghafir, (sheet no: 189 to 306 of the manuscript). With the advent of innovative technologies and multi-dimensional researches along the setting of entrepreneurship development, philosophy, context and business handling has been transformed from being traditional to innovative. Depending on diversity and nature of the transformation, innovation has been shifted from closed to open to crowdsourcing innovation. Ranging from small entrepreneurs to corporate business houses are being immensely benefited by the innovation techniques, especially utilizing information and communication technologies. However, the road to innovation, despite being a paradigm shift is not smooth and ready for many, particularly the small and medium enterprises who mainly deal with the clients at the outer peripheries of the social circle. This chapter synthesizes issues of opportunities and challenges for small and medium enterprises by carrying out a broad literature review and synthesis. Furthermore, the chapter will provide a few research hints to be applicable for researchers and research institutions.

The adoption of e-commerce technologies is an organization-learning process. Existing literature on the adoption has not been adequately addressed on this nature. This study develops a model and instrument to investigate the determinants of both initial adoption of e-commerce and its sophisticated extent in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in less developed countries' context. A model is tested empirically by using the data collected in Saudi Arabia. Since the sophistication of e-commerce is essential to gain full benefits from the technology, it is important to understand well influential factors of a decision of sophisticated adoption. Therefore, this present study is a necessary contribution to the literature.

<p>This paper aims to present the benefits of enterprise resource planning (ERP) service over traditional ERP through the development of ERP in the form of software-as-a-service<br />(SaaS). This service is published in response to the fact that traditional ERP is rarely implemented in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia due to the high<br />cost and risk of implementation failure. This paper can be used to encourage SMEs in Saudi Arabia to exploit ERP service. ERP service can be accessed by client via any<br />programming interface over an Internet connection without special configuration, thus highlighting the core competencies of the SMEs. As a prove of concept, the stock service<br />is published as a concrete ERP service. Two types of application were developed to access the service: desktop and smartphone based application. Based on a simple qualitative<br />assessment, it is acknowledged that ERP service is advantageous over traditional ERP systems in terms of its scalability, agile implementation, global accessibility,<br />mobility, low operational costs, lack of upfront costs, best practices, rapid upgrading, and interoperability among other services.</p>

Micro-enterprises play a critical role in the Indonesian economy, in which they supply 99.8% of the country’s employment and account for more than 95% of all enterprises in Indonesia. However, these firms experience many impediments, including a lack of capital, skills, and technology, which creates poor competitiveness. Although the Indonesian government has implemented many policies to deal with these problems, none have been adequate in improving the capacity and productivity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs). The empowerment program “Iptekda LIPI—Penerapan dan Pemanfaatan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi di Daerah Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI)—The Technology for Region Program of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences” proposed a new approach using a social enterprise to solve this issue. This paper analyses the social-enterprise approach of Iptekda LIPI which incorporates market and social welfare to determine the problems experienced by SMEs. The researchers conducted in-depth interviews with the owners of SMEs in West and East Java to explore how this approach may contribute to their businesses and to analyze the challenges of the social enterprise approach in empowering SMEs.
