AbstractContemporary production companies operate in a dynamically changing environment and try to strengthen their competitive position. Therefore they take action acting at implementing new ones as well as improving and maintaining existing production processes, using for this purpose knowledge and available tools and methods. For dominant activities undertaken in the scope of improving and maintaining production the pro-quality activities can be included. Quality mainly depends on the efficiency of production processes, therefore manufacturing companies should focus their activities on maintaining and improving them. The methods of technical risk analysis and assessment are effective methods of maintaining production processes, whose application makes it possible to indicate any deviations from accepted standards. Analysis and assessment of the technical risk of the production process makes it possible not only to indicate non-conformities identified in the process, but mainly taking corrective actions. The aim of the article is to formulate of the method used to identify and assessment of the technical risk of the cutting process on the organizational side. The method has qualitative-quantitative type, and is the effective tools for technical risk assessment necessary to maintain the production process. It is assumed that the quality of the cutting process is ensured by the technical condition of the machine.

Within a pulp industry production process, a drop in the performance of a wood log rotary debarker was identified. Such loss of performance was due to the occurrence of excessive wear of the device's cutting blades, requiring their regular and premature replacement. The material used to manufacture the cutting blades, Hardox 500, has characteristics considered adequate for the required use. However, it was concluded that the blade manufacturing process degraded its mechanical properties, leading to its premature wear when placed in service. The present study intends to propose, characterize, and validate an alternative cutting process to manufacture the debarker's cutting blades. Abrasive waterjet cutting technology was proposed to produce the cutting blades. The suitability of this manufacturing process is discussed considering the specified geometry and the material characteristics of the resulting cutting blades.

Attiéké is a food from Côte d’Ivoire exported today in several countries. For evaluating production processes, determinant factors and quality attributes of attiéké, a production survey and a physicochemical study were carried out. The survey included 170 producers from the departments of Abidjan, Dabou and Jacqueville, major production areas. Traditional attiéké (Adjoukrou, Ebrié, Alladjan) and a commercial type Garba were investigated for physicochemical analyses. The cassava variety (98% of producers) had no effect on traditional cassava inoculum but had an impact on attiéké quality. The step of fermentation is necessary. The difference between studied attiéké related to microflora of inoculum whose identification may provide adequate explanations on the product. Respect for the various steps of manufacturing process is also essential. Physicochemicals confirmed observed differences between attiéké types. Organoleptic characteristics are criteria of differentiation between attiéké. The quality of preference is well-made grains without fibers. The results obtained also highlighted the risks faced by regular consumers of Garba due to its high cyanide content (12 mg/100g MS) compare to other attiéké (4.41 mg/100g MS).

A Learning environment is a place where the learning              process            takes    place.   In         the implementation of the learning process, most student activities are carried out in a sitting position. Therefore the conditions and seating arrangements,  the  shape  of  the  chairs,  the various equipment and facilities that support the teaching and learning process must be a concern. An uncomfortable sitting position can affect    the                    quality              of        learning.                          Also, uncomfortable  lecture  chairs  will  affect  the user's  concentration  in  learning  so  that  this condition will accelerate the onset of fatigue. The application of the production process that we  carried  out  for  the  manufacture  of  our redesigned lecture chairs (flexible chair) has been  produced  with  a  total  time  of  370 minutes  with  parts,  namely,  the  mainframe, headrests,                leg        rests,                back     frame,            and supporting              materials          with                  a          total        of       5 operators. We hope that this article can help other fellow students to produce an item and make an analysis of the production process.

Raw materials is a major requirement in the production process for manufacturing companies. in fulfilling the needs of raw materials for the production process, most manufacturing firms depends on suppliers. Supplier selection is an important part of manufacturing companies. From several supplier selection criteria, quality is one of the important criteria and it used in supplier assessment. Selecting suppliers based on the quality of their products will have a positive impact on manufacturing companies, such as increased profits through reduced operational costs and increased market share. In this study will compare two suppliers at manufacturing companies and choose one that has a higher capability value. The selection of suppliers is made using the yield index of Spk with a single characteristic. Supplier will be selected by comparing the yield ratio of two suppliers. Numerical calculations are performed on suppliers based on pH levels on the leather. The pH level on the leather will affect the color. A low pH may result color degradation earlier, whereas a high pH may result poor color matching.

AbstractThe quality of salt is very determined by the treatment and handling given during the pre-production, production and post-production processes. Pb contamination in salt can be sourced from the marine environment as raw material in the process of making salt, the soil environment as a medium / place of salt production and the air environment where the salt production process takes place in an open area. The aim of research was to analyze levels of lead heavy metals (Pb) of salt in Pamekasan Regency. This research is a descriptive analysis. The techniques of data collecting of this research are observation and interview. Observations indicate that the average level of heavy metal lead (Pb) in Pamekasan regency is still below the maximum limit specified in SNI 3556-2010 and SNI 7387-2009 is <10 ppm which is the lowest grade of 0.066 ppm and grade the highest is 0.162 ppm. The salt production process is not in accordance with established standards The Therefore, the need for good handling in pre-production, production processes to post-production of salt production so that Pb levels do not increase.

Manufacturing companies are turning increasingly to rapid prototyping (RP) to perform pre-assembly testing and improve the quality of the final product. Manufacturers also have begun to complement their RP practices using design for manufacture and assembly methodology. Design for assembly lowers the complexity of products through parts reduction and enables manufacturers to quantify assembly times and costs. Users are prompted to consider each part and decide if it must be separate from others in the assembly, leading to systematic simplification of design. The four approaches by which design for manufacturer (DFMA) software analyzes product configurations incorporate design for assembly, design for manufacture, design for service, and design for environment. Using design for assembly can reduce the number of parts in the product, but can increase the complexity of the parts that remain. Rapid prototyping combined with DFMA tools not only can determine if a product will perform its desired functions. According to an expert, when early manufacturing process planning is performed using DFMA and RP, it is synergistic.

In the tire manufacturing process especially for the tread production process, one of the important things in making tread is parameter like length, width, and height. The width of this tread is very influential on the quality of the tread made; the more accurate the dimensions of the tread made then the quality of the product will be better. The current measurement is done by the manual method that is by using a simple steel roll meter. The possibility of measuring the error in viewing the number on the tools, that the measurement results do not match the actual tread size. This research is the application of a non-contact laser in profile measurement on the extruder machine so it can facilitate the work of employees in controlling the width of the tread. This design uses a Linear Motion Lead Screw Slide Stage (Stroke Actuator, Stepper Motor, and Driver), laser distance sensor and Arduino Mega 2560. In this prototype, the signal from the distance sensor is processed in the microcontroller and sends to the computer to create a curve graph in the computer display. The actual final result of the object profile measurement was provided.
