The aim of the article is to present the theoretical assumptions of the phenomenon that can be described as a “social poster”. In the first part of the work, I describe the origins, sources and historical context of the creation and functioning of the so-called Polish School of Posters. It is a school which, at the turn of several decades of the last century, built the significance of the poster, not only as an artistic work (with a clearly visible aesthetic function), but also as a product with a strong social impact. The second part of the text is definitely more personal. In it, I present the subject of my posters as well as the events and impulses that prompted me to undertake it. For me, the decisive elements in the selection of topics are society and the changes taking place in it. And the poster is, in my opinion, the most human form of conveying thoughts in urban space, and at the same time an important voice in the “street fight”.

Abstract: In 1968, Joseph Comblin published Théologie de la ville. Since then, the topic «city» became the subject of theological reflection. Drawn on the perception of the changes underway in the cities and even on the development of Latin American metropolises, this theme will recur in his life and in his works. This article, however, seeks to demonstrate: 1) that Comblin’s reflection is above all a reflection on the human being; 2) that the anthropological centrality is a result of the role that urban structures play in the creation and integration of human dimensions; 3) that the human being’s path is a procedural one. To do so, we structured the text into three parts: 1) Historical context; 2) Theology of the city; 3) Human and pastoral perspective. Keywords: Joseph Comblin. Anthropology. City. Adding to the growing list of retrospective studies of shopping and consumption is this engaged survey of the impact of American retail trade on community culture and social interaction. Although the author (a city planner in Washington, DC) is broadly within the tradition of Jane Jacobs and other critics of the commercialization of urban space, hers is a contemporary, well-informed, and nuanced judgment of the impact of malls, remote retail, big box stores, and other expressions of contemporary shopping. Even though this book may not meet the expectations of the professional historian, it does attempts to put very present-minded concerns about the social impact of contemporary retailing trends into a historical context.

It is a great pleasure and an honour to be writing for the fortieth anniversary volume ofByzantine and Modern Greek Studies. As editor of the journal for some twenty years, from 1984 until 2004, I have watched the journal grow in stature and in esteem over that period, and I am delighted to see it continuing to do so in the hands of its current editors. In the first issue I edited, I also contributed an article that attempted to reconcile some very different approaches to the history of Byzantine society and culture, or at least, to show that such different approaches were not necessarily mutually exclusive. If now rather out-of-date in its content, that article remains a useful baseline for discussing the relationship between empirical research and writing and theoretical reflection.‘“Jargon” vs. “the facts”‘?was a comment about the confrontation that at the time appeared to exist between, very broadly speaking, those who were interested in questioning the theoretical assumptions underlying and informing their research, and those who were not interested in such debates, preferring to see them either as irrelevant or as inaccessible. In my concluding remarks, I suggested that Byzantine Studies in the mid-1980s was in the process of what T. S. Kuhn would have called a ‘paradigm shift‘, that is to say, a process through which a traditional set (or sets) of assumptions and priorities, as well as theories and approaches, is replaced by different sets of ideas. While the changes in the nature of the subject that have occurred since then have not been particularly marked, there have nevertheless been some interesting and important developments that have altered the framework within which some ways of looking at the medieval eastern Roman world are carried on. The so-called ‘linguistic turn‘, for example, pushed Byzantinists, in particular, scholars of Byzantine literature and visual culture, to grapple with various aspects of what might very broadly be termed post-modernist and post-structuralist theory. This is evident in some of the writing and publishing of the later 1980s and 1990s in particular, and in some respects has now been incorporated into our ‘ways of seeing’ the Byzantine world.2In particular issues of intertextuality, of authorial intention, of reception, and of the relativizing of cultural interpretive possibilities (in respect of our own perspective) have become part and parcel of scholarly discourse, thus greatly enriching our discipline.3Represented by more recent work in literary studies and art history especially, I believe this shift also facilitated a much greater degree of cross-disciplinary reading, comparative thinking, and in respect of historical context and setting, a generally more open approach to the medieval west and the Islamic world in terms of both material and method.4

ABSTRACT This discussion seeks to discuss the impact of Law 13467/2017 on trade unionism, regarding the prohibition of deduction or collection without the prior and express consent of the worker and the voluntariness of its occurrence. Thus, from a historical context, the essence of the creation of the union contribution is sought, a greater understanding of the effects of the reform on the subject, in order to make the contribution optional, and if specifically to the workers, this faculty can contribute to freedom of association in Brazil, and, on the other hand, there is a problem of financing trade unions and, consequently, the defense of the workers themselves. It will also be sought to find out whether the union uniqueness imposed by the 1988 Constitution could harm Convention No. 87 of 1948 which deals with freedom of association. And if the amendment promoted by the Labor Reform can bring the unions closer to the workers, influencing the agreement with the discount of the union contribution.KEYWORDS: Law 13467/2017; Trade Unionism; Union Contribution; Labor Reform; Freedom Of Association.

This article aimed to explain the interdisciplinary proposition applied to traffic, as mechanism of production of knowledge, solutions and better and more effective practices. This is a theoretical essay limited to a bibliographical and narrative approach, which takes the concept of health promotion, namely "healthy", as articulator. From the literature consulted, we confirmed the possibility of the interdisciplinarity as a strategy to overcome the strong tensions present in the thematic traffic. It means that there is a valuation of life and health through a congruent structure, set in the coexistence and fraternal relationship, mediated by traffic as a vehicle of access and narrowing of human relations and ties (physical or subjective), intending the well-being and quality of social life. The discussion on the subject contributed to a clarification and reflection of the scandalous need for new paths based on an integrative proposal. Keywords: Interdisciplinary research. The educative innovation presented was developed at the Official University Master of Psychopedagogy at the University of Seville, Spain. An approximation to the Flipped Classroom methodology was carried out. Postgrad students are not normally exposed to this methodology, and therefore, they were not familiarised with it. To implement it, firstly, the class was divided into groups and, from a selection of the curricular contents of the subject; each group was assigned a particular topic. Each group had to prepare a presentation in which three tasks were to be fulfilled: the creation of an explanatory video to be projected during a presentation session with the aim of illustrating the theoretical contents, a reinforcement activity to enhance meaningful learning and an assessment of the presentation made. At the end of the study, the subjects received a questionnaire to analyse their degree of satisfaction according to the methodology. Results showed that the methodology was perceived as satisfactory or very satisfactory by most of the participants.

The recent reprinting of Álvaro de Silva’s 1998 edition of a selection of More’s letters prompts the author to examine the subject of Spanish translations of More, and of de Silva’s general commentary on More’s correspondence and on his relationship to other humanists. The author reflects on aspects of More’s personality as exposed in his letters and uses what he finds as a corrective to several biographical misconceptions. He points out the strengths and weaknesses of de Silva’s work and compares it with that of other translators, particularly Elizabeth Rogers, and notes the particularly Spanish quality of de Silva’s edition.
