This study aims to find out the students' perception toward gamification applied on English language Classroom. Gamification emerged as an innovation in classroom teaching. The basic concept is to incorporate game elements into teaching, taking advantage of students' interest in games that can be used for the purposes of the teaching process. This study is conducted since there is still limited research that is conducted in Indonesia which analyses the students' perception toward the gamification utilization. This research used qualitative methods as a way to present research results from data collected. Data from this study were collected using two methods, namely online questionnaires, and interviews. This research shared questionnaires to 30 students. The questionnaire was a Likert-style close-ended question. From the research conducted, it was found that the majority of students' perceptions of gamification used in English classes was positive. The students believed that gamification was effective and fun to bring to classroom learning. This teaching method allows students to engage more in-class activities, reduces boredom because it creates a learning atmosphere, and increases learning motivation without disturbing the understanding of the material obtained by students.

This study is focused on getting an understanding of the students and teachers perceptions of teaching methods use in EFL classroom. More importantly, this research is aimed at bringing to light how students and teachers in the higher education English language classroom help provide new meanings of how different methods are used in the classrooms. To make sense of their perceptions of teaching methods, we focus on four individual narrative interviews, classroom observations and two focus group discussions. The data findings show that a particular teaching method, such as students’ presentation, based on the students’ view, is due to that lecturers are not quite confident to speak in front of the classroom. The students assert that the lecturers seem are not quite well prepared to teach, so that the students are asked to make presentation in front of the classroom. This, based on the students’ view is about spending much time for the students to speak rather than their lecturers’ do. In addition, the data findings illustrate that the traditional methods used in the classroom such as classroom presentation and group discussion are needed to be modified by considering the employment of technology to mediate the acquisition of 21st century skills. In addition, the findings suggest that the lecturers’ experience during their careers and study deeply influence the way they conduct teaching methods in the classroom. Moreover, the data findings indicate that identity and the self- image are prevalent in shaping the teaching methods the lecturers are used in the classroom. This study indicates that students and lecturers have different view point with regards to the teaching methods use in the higher education language classroom. It is suggested, therefore, that the use of teaching methods in the classroom should ideally involve the students’ view point to generate more effective and future goals oriented.

Proficiency of students obtained during teaching process in school determine their competitiveness in the labour market. One of the most important factor for raising students’ achievements is learning motivation. The survey of 482 teachers from different Latvia schools about students learning motivation was carried out. Study results showed that teachers consider that the most popular subjects among students are English language, informatics and sports. One of the most suitable teaching methods is laboratory works. Various factors influence students’ learning motivation but the most important of them are the interest about subject, the desire to make a career and sense of duty.  The ability of teacher to create interest about subject depends from his or her attitude to students as well as from working style.

Computer networks are a professional subject of the Computer Science Department. Traditional teaching methods are not suitable for business school students who think the content is too theoretical to understand. Therefore, this research proposes a three-stage progressive teaching method, which divides the teaching process into three teaching stages according to the depth of knowledge of the teaching content. The teaching process gradually adopts traditional instruction, digital storytelling teaching methods, and visual narrative creation projects to guide students’ learning methods. The objective of this research is to adopt a step-by-step three-stage teaching method to gradually increase students’ interest in learning and make computer network learning more effective. The research results show that this innovative teaching method can cultivate learners’ computational thinking and deepen their understanding of corresponding knowledge. The students stated that the anthropomorphic situational narrative materials in the course increased their understanding and enjoyment, thereby improving their learning motivation and effectiveness.

Abstract: Educator is one component in education that has an important role. Given the importance of the presence of an educator in front of students, Educators are required to master various learning methods, one of which is the demonstration method. The demonstration method is a teaching method where both educators and students together do something as a practical exercise from what they know. The demonstration method will provide a clear picture and concrete understanding of a process or skill in learning concepts rather than just hearing, explaining or just verbal statements from educators. The use of demonstration method provides many benefits including; making teaching clearer and more concrete, focusing the attention of students, more directing the learning process of students on the material being studied, more attaching experience and impressions as learning outcomes to students, making students easier to understand what is learned, making the teaching process more interesting, stimulating students to actively observe and adjust between theory and reality, helping students understand clearly the course of a process of an object, and facilitating various types of explanations. Thus, the use of demonstration method can broadly increase students 'motivation to learn, if students' learning motivation increases, eventually learning objectives can be achieved. Keywords: Demonstration method, increase, motivation to learn

Purpose This paper aims to study the effects of digital flipped classroom teaching method integrated cooperative learning model on learning motivation and outcome. From the perspective of promoting students’ learning engagement, this study puts forward suggestions for the effective implementation of flipped classroom teaching, so as to provide reference for the implementation of flipped classroom teaching practice in colleges and universities. Along with the time change and promotion of 12-year compulsory education, traditional didactic instruction can no longer satisfy all students. The reform wave in education is therefore emerged in past years, where the “flipped classroom” model strikes a chord and becomes a trend. Design/methodology/approach By applying nonequivalent pretest posttest control group design to the experimental research, 242 college students in Henan Province are selected as subjects of study. They are divided into four groups. The first group adopts the flip classroom teaching method. The second group adopts the cooperative teaching method. The third group adopts the flipping classroom teaching method integrated the cooperative teaching method. The fourth group (control group) adopts the traditional teaching method. The study lasted 15 weeks with sessions carried out 3 h a week. Findings The research results show significant effects of flipped classroom teaching method on learning motivation, flipped classroom teaching method on learning outcome, cooperative learning on learning motivation, cooperative learning on learning outcome, flipped classroom teaching method integrated cooperative learning on the promotion of learning motivation and flipped classroom teaching method integrated cooperative learning on the promotion of learning outcome. Research limitations/implications First, on the basis of consulting the links of many teaching strategies and summarizing the experience of flipped classroom practice in famous universities, a series of teaching strategies is put forward. However, the pertinence of different subjects may be different, which requires teachers to focus on the specific practice of reference. Second, due to the limitation of time, the author spent more time and energy on the proposal part of strategy, and the scientific nature of the strategy is not verified in practice, so it needs to spend time and practice in the later stage to improve this work. Practical implications This topic is the integrated design practice and research of flipped classroom in current teaching. The practical significance of the research is to find a solution to the problem of low learning efficiency of students in traditional classrooms, so as to update teachers’ teaching concepts, change teaching methods and promote teaching behaviors. In flipped classroom, there is a systematic integrated design process before, during and after class, which can effectively improve teachers’ teaching design ability, help students change their learning methods and truly improve students’ learning efficiency and effectiveness. The research on the implementation of flipped classroom can enrich the theory of flipped classroom, including the research on the orientation of learning theory and the reorientation of the role of teachers and students. This study can provide theoretical support for the strategies and environment for the cultivation of students’ independent learning ability. The results of this study can provide a reference for improving the scientificity and diversity of research methods. Originality/value Based on the integrated design of flipped classroom before, during and after class, this research systematically explores the role of flipped classroom in cultivating students’ autonomous learning ability in the teaching of information science and technology, and studies how to maximize the role of flipped classroom in teaching to promote and help students’ learning. In addition, a special iterative method is adopted. In each round of research, according to the opinions of students and peers, the inadequacies and improvements in the last round of research is found, certain links are increased or decreased, and finally the research goals are achieved.
