This research is motivated by the low understanding of learning Citizenship Education or PKN and the low influence of literacy on learning at school or college. Students and students are still low in understanding what literacy is and how literacy activities are and what literacy affects learning at school or in college. From the results of this study, it was found that literacy has a very large influence on learning at school and in college, especially in the subject of Citizenship Education or Civics. Most of the students are aware of and know the big influence of these literacy activities, and there have been many. some of them implement it in learning at school or in college. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman belajar Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan atau PKN dan rendahnya pengaruh literasi terhadap pembelajaran di sekolah ataupun di perguruan tinggi. Para pelajar dan mahasiswa masih rendah dalam memahami apa itu pengertian literasi dan bagaimana kegiatan literasi serta apa pengaruh literasi terhadap pembelajaran di sekolah atau di perguruan tinggi. Dari hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa literasi memiliki pengaruh yang sangat besar terhadap pembelajaran di sekolah maupun di perguruan tinggi khususnya dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan atau PKN, Sebagian besar para pelajar dan mahasiswa pun sudah sadar dan mengetahui pengaruh besar dari kegiatan literasi tersebut, dan sudah banyak beberapa dari mereka yang mengimplementasikannya dalam pembelajaran di sekolah ataupun di perguruan tinggi.

AbstractThe purpose of this research is; (1) Describe student activity in accessing information on social media, (2) Describing the kind of information that students often access, and (3) Explaining students’ perception of the hoax news. The subject of research is18-22 years old college students who actively used social media. The data was analized using the Miles and Huberman technique. Research shows that : (1) Subject activity in social media is a more a user update status/picture/video feature, stories and live feature, like/love feature, comentary feature dan repost feature. (2) Information often accessed by most of the subject is entertainment, religion and politics, and (3)subject perceives hoax news as incorrect information with far reaching long term effect.AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah; (1) Mendeskripsikan aktivitas mahasiswa saat mengakses informasi di media sosial, (2) Mendeskripsikan jenis informasi yang sering diakses mahasiswa, dan (3) Menjelaskan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap berita hoax. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa usia 18-22 tahun yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Analisis data menggunakan teknik Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Aktivitas subjek di media sosial lebih banyak pada fitur update status/gambar/video pengguna, fitur story dan live, fitur like/love, fitur comentary dan fitur repost; (2) Informasi yang sering diakses oleh sebagian besar subjek adalah hiburan, agama dan politik; dan (3) subjek memandang berita hoax sebagai informasi yang tidak benar, yang berdampak jauh dalam jangka panjang.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to find out and evaluate the process of civic literacy socialization to establish the ethics of young citizens and the implications towards personal resilience in Surakarta and formulating the socialization model of civic literacy as a form of citizenship education.This research was conducted in Surakarta with the target of community conducting citizenship education activities. This research used field research with descriptive qualitative approach which describes citizenship education practice which is done informally in socialization of civic literacy activities. The results showed that the socialization of civic literacy was done informally with habituation, development, and learning which was done continuously and had the objective to form the ethics of citizens with the perspective of personal resilience. This research also produces a model of civic literacy as a planning in the learning process which contains information about how to be an ethical citizen, understand the rights and obligations, have a sense of responsibility and nationalism that is implemented in the life of society, nation and state.ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan mengevaluasi proses sosialisasi civic literacy dalam pembentukan etika warganegara muda di Kota Surakarta serta merumuskan model sosialisasi civic literacy sebagai bentuk pendidikan kewarganegaraan kemasyarakatan (citizenship education).Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kota Surakarta dengan sasaran komunitas yang melakukan kegiatan sosialisasi materi kewarganegaraan di lingkungan masyarakat. Penelitian merupakan penelitian lapangan berupa pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang mendeskripsikan praktik citizenship education,  dilakukan secara informal di masyarakat berupa kegiatan sosialisasi civic literacy. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi civic literacy dilakukan secara informal dengan pembiasaan, pengembangan, dan pembelajaran secara berkelanjutan memiliki tujuan untuk membentuk etika warganegara berperspektif ketahanan pribadi. Penelitian ini juga menghasilkan suatu model civic literacy sebagai perencanaan dalam proses pembelajaran yang berisi informasi tentang bagaimana menjadi warganegara yang beretika, paham hak dan kewajibannya, memiliki rasa tanggungjawab dan rasa cinta tanah air yang diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara.

AbstractAddiction to social media is an issue that many people, especially college students, experienced today and it is facilitated by technological advancements. There are several things that can predict social media addiction, which is loneliness and fear of missing out. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of loneliness and fear of missing out simultaneously on social media addiction among college students. This research was a quantitative study using the loneliness scale by Gierveld and Tilburg with a reliability score of 0,83, fear of missing out scale by Przybylski et al., with a reliability score of 0,79 and social media addiction scale by Al-Menayes with a reliability score of 0,77. The subject in this study was selected using purposive sampling with a total of 166 college students who were actively using social media. The hypothesis was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The result of this study showed that social media addiction among college students was significantly affected by loneliness and fear of missing out. Negative antecedents such as loneliness and fear of missing out can influence students to get involved in something that is also negative, which is social media addiction.Keywords: Fear of missing out (fomo); College students; Loneliness; Social media addiction. AbstrakKecanduan media sosial merupakan masalah yang saat ini dialami oleh banyak orang, khususnya mahasiswa, dan difasilitasi oleh kemajuan teknologi. Terdapat beberapa hal yang dapat mendorong terjadinya kecanduan media sosial, salah satunya adalah kesepian dan fear of missing out. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan pengaruh kesepian dan fear of missing out secara simultan terhadap kecanduan media sosial di kalangan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan skala kesepian dari Gierveld dan Tilburg dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,83, skala fear of missing out dari Przybylski dkk., dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,79 dan skala kecanduan media sosial dari Al-Menayes dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,77. Subjek dalam penelitian ini dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah sebanyak 166 orang mahasiswa yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Hipotesis dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kecanduan media sosial di kalangan mahasiswa dipengaruhi oleh kesepian dan fear of missing out. Anteseden yang bersifat negatif seperti kesepian dan fear of missing out dapat mempengaruhi individu untuk terlibat dalam hal yang juga bersifat negatif yaitu kecanduan media sosial.Kata kunci: Fear of missing out (FoMO); Kecanduan media sosial; Kesepian; Mahasiswa.

Objectives: This paper discusses the ideological and political education resources in literary works. Based on the focus group interviews with college students and employees of tobacco enterprises, this paper further explains the three forms of manifestation related to the ideological and political education resources in literary works: First, the ideological and political education themes in literary works; secondly, the literary discourse strategies can provide reference for the discourse system of the ideological and political education; thirdly, literary works can involve the subject construction in the discourse system of the ideological and political education. An in-depth study of these problems will bridge the originally wide gap between the literary narration and the ideological and political education so that the ideological and political education can absorb and learn from the advantages of literary narration in the ideological dissemination.

The case study is within the context of a K-12 classroom and it explores the processes in which a classroom teacher may have to navigate to be able to use innovative ICT within their classroom. The case highlights the main issues as relating to pedagogical and institutional considerations.

Resumo: Este artigo propõe uma discussão acerca dos posicionamentos relativos às cotas. Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura com a finalidade de levantar argumentos favoráveis e contrários às cotas, oriundos de estudos de quatro áreas das Ciências Humanas (psicologia social, antropologia, sociologia e educação) realizados no Brasil a partir dos anos 2000 com enfoque no posicionamento de estudantes universitários. Constatou-se que os argumentos desfavoráveis ao sistema de reserva de vagas estão calcados, principalmente, em problemas decorrentes da vigência da medida, enquanto nos argumentos favoráveis encontram-se a eficácia das cotas e sua finalidade de reparo histórico-social. Foram levantadas possíveis causas que levam grupos de pessoas a se posicionar em relação às cotas: a primeira causa está relacionada com as experiências individuais prévias, que ocorrem quando o fato de conviver ou presenciar discriminação em relação a minorias marca os indivíduos e faz com que possuam posicionamento favorável ou contrário acerca do tema; a segunda causa corresponde ao direito ao benefício, já que o fato do sujeito poder ou não se beneficiar das cotas traria uma influência no posicionamento que tem da medida. A terceira causa seria a proximidade com os cotistas, que corresponde à aproximação do sujeito com pessoas do círculo pessoal que são cotistas; a quarta causa seria a homologia estrutural, de modo que a posição que se ocupa na estrutura da sociedade influencia diretamente no julgamento de objetos e suas relações com indivíduos de outra posição na estrutura. A quinta causa é a Ideologia, onde representações ideologicamente marcadas (acerca da justiça, igualdade, mérito) influenciariam no posicionamento acerca das cotas. Portanto, os posicionamentos não ocorrem apenas de forma individual e se sustentariam também a partir de causas psicossociais.Palavras-chave: Cotas. Atitude. Pensamento social. Universitários.Abstract: This article proposes a discussion about the positions about quotas. A review of the literature was realized with the purpose of raising arguments favorable and against quotas, from studies in four areas of the Human Sciences (social psychology, anthropology, sociology and education) published in Brazil from the 2000s with a focus on the positioning of college students. are mainly based on problems arising from the difficulty of allocating quotas, while the favorable arguments are the effectiveness of quotas and their purpose of historical and social repair. Possible causes that lead groups of people to position themselves in relation to quotas have been verified: the first cause is related to the previous individual experiences, which occur when the fact of living or witnessing discrimination in relation to minorities marks the individuals and makes them be favorable or against the subject; the second cause corresponds to the right to the benefit, since the fact that the subject may or may not benefit from quotas would have an influence on the position of the measure. The third cause would be proximity to the quota students, which corresponds to the approximation of the subject with people in the personal circle who are quota students; the fourth cause would be structural homology, so that the position that a group occupies in the structure of society directly influences the judgment of objects and their relations with individuals of another position in the structure. The fifth cause is Ideology, where ideologically marked representations (about justice, equality, merit) would influence the positioning of dimensions. Therefore, the positioning does not only occur individually and would also be sustained from psychosocial causes.Keywords: Quotas. Attitude. Social thought. College students

Fifty-one college students individually completed the Bern Sex Role Inventory and then viewed 22 slides. Unknown to the subjects the slide projector was connected to a computer which automatically recorded the amount of time the subject viewed each slide. The first and last slides were fillers. The remaining 20 slides were equally distributed among these categories: women clothed, women in bathing suits, men clothed and men in bathing suits. Men looked longer at both slide categories of women than the slides of men. Women, though, looked longest at slides of clothed women. The sex role categorizations were not significantly related to viewing times for either sex. The data are interpreted in terms of intrasex competitiveness and intersex attraction.
