This study investigates how university students engage with their learning affordances in a contested environment due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This qualitative research employed a case study approach involving 136 participants. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative analysis as a circular process to describe, classify, and perceive the phenomenon and how the learning, affordances, and society were interconnected. The main framework of the research was the theory of affordance and how it was available for university students in their learning environment that changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected in the first semester of 2020 through an online survey on Google form. The findings indicate the importance of the social environment to provide affordance for the students to adjust with them. Four kinds of affordances emerged from the study; internet affordance, assignment affordance, domestic affordance, and distance learning affordance. The role of the social environment is definitive in changing how students manage their affordances.

Compare face to face learning, the implication of online courses has been discussed for several years in higher education. However, in 2020 the rise of the global COVID-19 pandemic has created obvious shifts in university students’ life. In order to ensure the “suspension of classes”, university students took part more in online classes compare to physical education (PE) classes in China. It is significant to explore students’ views on PE online learning that is benefit for teachers to provide students with high quality of online PE courses, which will be better to guide students to take PE lessons and also improve students’ health. This study investigated the issues of students’ perceptions toward online physical education courses in Tianjin University of Technology in China based on a case study. The findings of this study indicate that some students don’t like taking online PE courses due to there were some disadvantages of online PE lesson. Some students enjoy taking online PE courses because of the interesting sports videos. This study also explored teachers’ view on how to motivate college students to engage in physical education classes and recommends specific strategies for teachers to motivate college students to take online PE courses.

This paper is to investigate the effect of google usage on uumsqs final yearstudents’ academic performance. The scope of this paper is focusing on studying the effects of google usage on university utaramalaysia (uum) students’ academic performance. This study has been carried out among final year students of school of quantitative science (sqs) by did survey through asking respondents for information using written questioning which is questionnaire. The survey from the respondents takes time almost a week. It is believe that google usage will create a positive impact on students. By doing this study, students can know whether google is affecting their academic performance. The sources where students refer for academic purpose can also been seen. Besides, the role of google that can help students to gain extra knowledge in the learning process can be identify. Students can find out more advantages that is brought by google which can leave a positive effect on their academic performance.

The chapter aims to contribute at the discussion on the role of creativity in sustaining corporate entrepreneurship development by focusing on entrepreneurial learning in the context of incumbent enterprises. Empirical evidences coming from the case study of “Mimprendo” project (www.mimprendo.it), an initiative promoted by the Italian Conference of the University Colleges and the Italian Association of Young Entrepreneurs, are presented. Findings provides insights about the collaborative entrepreneurial learning as happening in the community composed by University students, entrepreneurs, and researchers to solve relevant managerial and entrepreneurial innovation's needs. Those evidences are at the basis of an integrated framework aimed to provide a coherent and a systematic view on the collaborative entrepreneurial learning processes to nurture, select, and implement creative ideas of universities students for sustaining the corporate entrepreneurship in incumbent companies.

Virtual classrooms allow users in a closed network to communicate through talk, text, and video. While virtual classrooms enable synchronous online learning, little is known about how specific components of web-conferencing technology impact students' experiences. In this case study, the researcher interviewed 20 students in an online doctoral program and analyzed over 50 hours of footage from six online classes. Findings indicate that the video and text chat features of the virtual classroom provided opportunities for constant interaction and increased students' engagement and sense of community.

The main purpose of this study is to learn about the role of the historical Turkish drama (The Artegrel Resurrection series as a case study) to determine the reasons behind watching such series. Hence, the descriptive and analytical approach was used to achieve the objectives of this study by adopting the questionnaire as a tool for data collection. Therefore, the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data by performing the main statistical tests to generate the results of this study. The results of the study indicated that the most prominent (reasons) for watching the historical drama series (Artegral Resurrection) among Palestinian university students. It is to know the emergence of the Islamic Caliphate, followed by it because it reveals the truth of the conspiracies, then followed by it because it carries political and national values, in addition to that there is a belief in the request of Palestinian universities that Turkish history has been distorted, and this study recommended the necessity of conducting more research on knowing the reasons and motives for watching the series The resurrection of Artgrel among Palestinian university students and working on studying other historical series, such as the Sultan Abdul Hamid series, Kut al-Amara, the Resurrection of Othman, the Seljuk Renaissance, and conducting more research on the impact of those causes and motives on the behavior of Palestinian university students regularly and over varying periods of time to determine the extent of the impact Those reasons are in their behavior and interaction in their lives and their reality.

Speaking English as a foreign language presents one of the most common challenges for learners of English due to many factors related to their perception of the teacher as “a sage on the stage,” their own shyness, a lack of appropriate vocabulary and accurate grammar, and a lack of cooperative learning skills. To help students remedy this problem, the Think-Pair-Share’ strategy was used in this study of online classes during the COVID 19 pandemic. Research has demonstrated that learners can improve their speaking skills and learn more effectively through meaningful collaboration and sharing. This study aims to investigate the role of the Think-Pair-Share’ approach in promoting students’ speaking skills. The study adopts a qualitative approach and addresses the following two research questions: (i) To what extent does the Think-Pair- Share help in improving students’ speaking skills? (ii) How can this improvement be justified? Twenty-eight first-year Moroccan university students took part in this study. The research instruments used combined pre- and post-speaking tests, students’ self-evaluation, and classroom observations. Data were video recorded, analysed qualitatively using the FCE speaking-assessment criteria, and compared to the students’ self- evaluation of their own performance. The results show that the Think-Pair-Share strategy enabled predominantly average and weak students to exchange their views on a range of familiar topics with more ease, confidence, and fluency using more appropriate vocabulary and a clearer organisation of ideas. Although the learners still had problems with their pronunciation and accurate grammar, they demonstrated better interactive communication.

Abstract Internet media have an influence on many tourism-related issues. This article presents the results of research into the role of tourism-themed portals in the trips taken by Polish university students between 2010 and 2012. The research sought to answer the following questions: whether tourism-related internet media have an influence on the students’ behaviour before, during the trip and when they arrive at their destination; how often they are used by the respondents during their trips; and whether Polish students actively participate in internet media by voicing their opinions. As it appears, internet media serve as one of the “travel companions” for young people. They are used when preparing the trip, the vast majority “take them” with them and check them during the trip, while almost half of them check them on vacation, e.g. to share their experience over the internet.

<p>Activity based learning is a successful educational model in various disciplines and recently it has been proved very effective in business institutes also. This paper was intended to explore the effects of internship in the university students of Pakistan as an activity based learning in order to boost their skills and abilities. Qualitative research as research design was adopted for the study following interpretivist paradigm. For the purpose of data collection, 30 students from business institutes were interviewed. Only those candidates were chosen who had recently completed their internship in well-known organizations of Pakistan. Data analyses were done through NVivo software version 11, suggested for qualitative data analyses. Findings proposed that industrial internship is a viable activity for the learning and growth of university students. Practical experience, teamwork, understanding strengths and weaknesses, financial support for further studies and exposure to real world problems were found chief outcomes of internship in terms of professional development. Likewise, goal setting, internal motivation, confidence, punctuality, regularity and understanding responsibility in terms of personality development were found as key outcomes of internship for business students. Keywords: activity based learning, business students, internships, professional development.</p>

The paper presents a transdisciplinary reflection on emergencies that young people with disabilities find themselves in today. Compared to the population of young people and university students, those with disabilities have a greater risk of having "limited worlds" to experience themselves as adults. In this paper, we will consider one of the most difficult dimensions: work and job inclusion. It uses a case study in a productive organisation focused on recognising the capacity to work of intellectually impaired persons. The process of labour inclusion through apprenticeship transcends purely technical questions and brings reflections on the concept of hospitality. The paper concludes that education is a powerful tool to promote important themes of social cohabitation and to build real opportunities to the youngsters to experiment themselves in the role of adults.
