The Comparation of Technical Efficiency Between Conventional Banks and Islamic Banks in Indonesia Using DEA MethodThis research is to compare the levels of technical efficiency between BUK and BUS by employing non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). This research assigns Third Party Funds, Labor Expenses and Fixed Assets which are input variable, meanwhile Total Credit and Other Incomes are determined as Output Variables. This research also examines the Profitability of BUK and BUS by Using Panel Regression Model with CAR, LDR, NPL and BOPO as independent variables, where ROA and ROE are dependent variables. The result showed that the average technical efficiency of the Conventional Banks is better than that of the Islamic Banks. That is because of the inefficient utilization of Input Variables, namely Third Party Funds, Labor Expenses and Fixed Assets in the Islamic Banks  DOI:10.15408/aiq.v6i2.1229

The main purpose of this study is to make a comparison between Islamic banks (IBs) and Conventional banks (CBs) in Bangladesh based on its efficiency in operation. The Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is employed under CRS and VRS approach, which allows for the decomposition of efficiency into technical, allocated and cost efficiency. The study also measures changes in productivity over the time as a result of technical progress by employing the Malmquist Total Factor Productivity Index. The results explain that the technical efficiency of IBs is better than that of CBs, but allocated and cost efficiency (CE) of IBs are higher than CBs. In Bangladesh there are 62 commercial banks included 8 Islamic Banks that are regulated by Bangladesh Bank (BB).

<p><em>The study was conducted to examine the effect of changes in Financial Accounting Standards (SAK) business Rural Bank (BPR), with the enactment of the Financial Accounting Standards Un Accountability Public-entity-(SAK-ETAP) and the Rural Bank Accounting Guidelines (PA-BPR), to BPR efficiency. SAK changes may result in changes to the financial performance of business efficiencies, especially BPR. Efficiency is one of the performance parameters which theoretically can be used as a basis for determining the performance of the bank.</em><em> </em><em>Non-parametric approach to Data-Envelopment Analysis (DEA), used as a tool for evaluating the efficiency of BPR, with input variables (cash, placements with other banks, fixed assets, other assets, third party financing, interest income, interest expense, expense fees and expenses operational) and the output variable (that is given credit, loans received, and net income). Analysis of the influence of changes in accounting standards on the efficiency of BPR, performed using Analysis of Variance analysis tools-(ANOVA) and regression bootstrap method. The results showed that, for BPR in East Java which has total assets of Rp. 10 (ten) million, changes in accounting standards had no effect on the efficiency of BPR. The condition is caused by, changes in financial accounting standards, fundamentally, is the reclassification and changes in the presentation of accounts in the financial statements BPR.</em></p> <p><br /> <strong>Key words</strong>: Financial Accounting Standards, Efficiency, BPR, DEA</p>

This study aims to analyze the efficiency comparison between Islamic banks and conventional banks in Indonesia in 2012-2014. The data in this study were chosen through purposive sampling from 20 Islamic banks and conventional banks in Indonesia. The method used in this study is non-parametric approach with data envelopment analysis (DEA) whereas input and output variables are treated in intermediary function. The input variables are total asset, total saving (third party fund), and price of labor while the output variables are total financing (loans) and total operational expenses. To measure the efficiency level of Islamic banks and conventional banks the independent sample t test is used. The result of the study shows that there is no significant difference of efficiency between Islamic banking and conventional banking in 2014 because of the significant value (2-tailed) only at 0.537 where P-value is higher than α=0.05 Ha is refused. There is no difference of efficiency between Islamic banks and conventional banks in efficiency scale (ES). The empirical factors that affect Islamic banks and Conventional banks efficiency are ROA, CAR, and FDR variables. On the other hand, NPF results insignificantly and affects negatively towards Islamic banks efficiency. Lastly, ROA, NPL, LDR, and CAR had significantly affected Conventional banks efficiency in Indonesia from 2012 to 2014.

This study aims to determine and comparing the level of third-party funds accumulation efficiency of Islamic Banks and Conventional Banks in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative non-parametric approach with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) CRS and VRS assumption, and statistical tool namely Mann Whitney U-Test. The samples are 10 Islamic Banks and 13 Conventional Banks those comply with the specified sample criteria. During 2010 to 2014, Islamic Banks has efficiency level of third-party funds accumulation relatively higher than Conventional Banks based on CRS and VRS assumption. Source of inefficiency in Islamic Banks is the scale of third-party funds accumulation. While the hypothesis test showed there was no significant difference in the level of third-party funds accumulation efficiency between Islamic Banks and Conventional Banks in Indonesia with the assumption of CRS, VRS, and Scale efficiency.

This study aims to determine the efficiency level of management of zakat funds at the National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS). The author uses the quantitative non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. Total assets, promotion, and documentation costs, and official travel costs as input variables. Whereas the output variance consists of receiving zakat funds and distributing zakat funds. The results showed that BAZNAS experienced efficiency in 2012-2014 and 2017 with a score of 100%. Inefficiencies occurred in 2015 at 79.16% and in 2016 amounted to 98.72%. In 2015-2016, all input variables experienced inefficiency, while the output variable was the only inefficient distribution of zakat funds. In overcoming, inefficiencies can be adjusted between the target and actual quantities specified in the DEA calculation. The author recommends that BAZNAS pay attention to the causes of inefficiency so that it can improve performance better.

The purpose of this research is to acknowledge the level of efficiency from Regional Development Bank (Bank Pembangunan Daerah)/BPD) in Indonesia. This research use non - parametric approach which is DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis), to measure the efficiency of input and output of the Regional Development Banks. The input variables include are interest expense, administration and public expenses and salary expenses and the output variables are interest net income and other operasional income. The research concluded shows that the performance of the technical efficiency of banks BPD is not all reach the level of 100% and showed a fluctuation grow from 2008 – 2009. Pursuant to the technical efficiency level showed that there are 4 banks from 26 existing banks are showing a maximum efficiency. While the remaining 21 BPD banks fluctuating during 2008 to 2009. The purpose of this study is to determine there is a difference of efficiency in terms of income and intermediation between shariah banks and conventional banks during 2012-2015. Efficiency is a measure of bank performance which describes the optimal output level conditions with the level of the current input. The measurement of efficiency in this study usesDEA with CRS assumption. This study uses 22 shariah banks and conventional banks which are the same size in terms of core capital, grouped based on corresponding business activities banks group (BUKU). Then, they are tested by using different independent sample t-test andMann-Whitney Test. Financial performance assessment for the banks uses four input variables and four output variables. A comparative analysis conducted showed that there were no differences in the efficiency of shariah banks and conventional banks. While on the intermediation there are significant differences between the two groups of banks.

Banking efficiency is very important in supporting the success of macro policies specifically, maintaining the sustainability of development that affects economic growth and social welfare. This study discusses the efficiency of commercial banks for the 2015-2019 period using data from the 10 largest commercial banks in Indonesia. The methodology used is non-parametric, Data Envelopment Analysis, to analyze technical efficiency. The results showed that 7 banks had a maximum efficiency level consistently during the study period and there were still 3 banks that did not reach the maximum efficiency but during certain periods or periods. Based on the results of the DEA, inefficient banks in a certain period can achieve maximum efficiency by reducing inputs such as labor costs, net fixed assets, and the number of deposits. This might be attributed that the competition in the banking industry and because not all inputs could be controlled by management, some large banks cannot maintain their level of efficiency consistently.

The Primary Health Care in Morocco plays a very strategic role in the prevention against various diseases, in particular the current pandemic COVID 19. The efficiency of these centers has a direct impact on the reduction of this pandemic. First, this is why will try to research the literature review about the technical efficiency of primary health care. In the second step, the non-parametric: Data Envelopment Analysis method will be used to apply the empiric phase during the period 2012-2015, to estimate the relative technical efficiency, this method will be calculated by using two models: the theory of the return to scale constant with a middle equal to 0.437 and the theory of the variable return to scale with an average of 0.537. It’s necessary to combine the DEA approach with the Malmquist index to evaluate the factors of production. Finally, to compare the results of the proposed method which are generally very poor, and discuss his policy implications for health care.

Performance is one of the indicators of efficiency in a firm including Islamic banks. Performance measurament commonly done by Islamic banks using financial ratio. However performance measurament by using financial ratio can’t show the condition of Islamic banks truthfully. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method can overcome restrictiveness of performance measurament which able to handle many input and output. DEA method is a linier programming which aim to maximize input and output. This study aims to aware and analyze financial performance of Islamic commercial bank with DEA method in period 2008-2011. The sample of two Islamic commercial bank: Bank Muamalat Indonesia and Bank Syariah Mandiri. This study uses input variables consist of deposits, assets, and personnel costs as well as using a variable output which comprises the amount of financing and operating income. These results indicate that Islamic commercial bank foreign exchange continue to have 100 percentefficiency is a Bank Muamalat Indonesia over a period of observation, while Bank Syariah Mandiri has 100 percent efficiency in Maret 2008, September 2008, Desember 2008, Juni 2009, September 2009, Desember 2009, September 2010, Desember 2010, Maret 2011, Juni 2011, September 2011 dan Desember 2011
