Ikan semah (Tor douronensis) termasuk salah satu spesies dari genus Tor yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi. Untuk meningkatkan produktivitas, informasi pertumbuhan benih yang dipelihara pada sistem budidaya karamba jaring apung (KJA) perlu dilakukan karena ikan semah umumnya dibudidayakan pada kolam dengan air yang jernih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi laju pertumbuhan benih ikan semah generasi pertama dengan perlakuan padat tebar yang berbeda pada sistem pemeliharaan KJA. Percobaan dilakukan di Waduk Cirata, Cianjur, Jawa Barat selama lima bulan. Ikan uji (panjang total: 7-8 cm; bobot: 5-6 g) dipelihara di KJA (padat tebar 50, 75, dan 100 ekor/m3 dengan tiga kali ulangan). Pakan apung komersial dengan kadar protein 40% diberikan sebesar 6% per biomassa yang diberikan dua kali sehari. Parameter yang diamati yaitu pertumbuhan bobot mutlak, sintasan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR), dan biomassa. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan padat tebar 50 ekor/m3 menghasilkan pertumbuhan terbaik dengan bobot akhir 15,89 ± 1,43 g; pertambahan mutlak 10,48 ± 1,41 g; sintasan 94,67 ± 4,6%; dan SGR 0,75 ± 0,04%. Dari hasil penelitian ini, padat tebar 50 ekor/m3 merupakan kondisi yang terbaik untuk pemeliharaan benih ikan semah di KJA. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan informasi awal tentang potensi budidaya ikan semah dengan sistem budidaya KJA perlu dikembangkan di masa yang akan datang.Semah mahseer (Tor douronensis) is a species from the genus Tor and highly valued in local and national markets. Nevertheless, the fish production from net cage is currently limited. In order to increase its productivity, research on the growth of semah mahseer fingerlings reared in floating net cage systems needs to be carried out as this species is predominantly cultured in the clean water ponds. This study was conducted to obtain information on the growth performance of the first generation of semah mahseer fingerlings reared with different stocking densities in a floating net cage system. The experiment was carried out in the floating net cage located at Cirata Reservoir, Cianjur, West Java, for five months. Fingerlings (total length: 7-8 cm; body weight: 5-6 g) were reared in the floating net cage (stocking density of 50, 75, and 100 ind./m3 with three replications). The fish were fed with a commercial diet (protein content of 40%) given at 6% of biomass twice a day. The parameters observed included weight gain, survival rate, specific growth rate (SGR), and biomass. The results showed that the stocking density of 50 ind./m3 had the best performance in terms of final weight of 15.89 ± 1.43 g, weight gain of 10.48 ± 1.41 g, survival rate of 94.67 ± 4.6%, and specific growth rate of 0.75 ± 0.04%. Based to the results of this study, the stocking density of 50 ind./m3 is the best condition for rearing semah mahseer fingerlings in floating net cages. The findings of this research can be used as the basic information for future aquaculture development of semah mahseer in net cages.

Abstract Lobster is among freshwater crustaceans which is potentially cultivated in aquaculture system. This present study was conducted to determine the growth and survival rate of freshwater lobster Cherax quadricarinatus fed different forage feed. The experimental methode used a completely randomized design consisted of 4 treatments in triplicate: commercial diet (PL), commercial diet and carrots (PW), commercial diet and potatoes (PK) and commercial diet and sweet potatoes (PU). The experimental lobsters were 5-7 cm in size and 6-8 g in weight. Results indicated that forage feeding can affect the total weight and length, weight gain, specific growth rate and survival rate of lobster. Data showed the best weight gain and specific growth rate were found in PW (34.37±0.30%) and (1.05±0.03%), respectively. The lowest survival rate was seen in PU at 86.67%. However, the best feed conversion ratio gained by PL at 1.74±0.09. This study suggested that the combination of commercial diet with carrots provided the best growth performances in freshwater lobster Cherax quadricarinatus.

Fulfill needs of Siamese gourami still rely on the catch from nature, so the population in nature has become decreased. The increase of Siamese gourami fish production from culture is still constrained by the survival rate and slow growth rate in the seed phase. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of Siamese gourami stocking density on the application of optimum temperature and salinity to growth performance for optimization of production capacity. Application of optimum temperature and salinity refers to the results of previous research, i.e., temperature of 28 °C and salinity 3 ‰. Siamese gourami seed with length of 2.96 ± 0.42 cm and weight of 5.27 ± 0.10 g used in the research. The experimental design used completely randomized design with four treatments, i.e. 1 fish L-1, 2 fish L-1, 3 fish L-1 and 4 fish L-1. The results showed that there were an effect of different stocking density on absolute growth weight and length, survival rate, specific growth rate and productivity. This is shown in the C treatment which growth was 4.95 ± 0.037 g, length 3.51 ± 0.01 cm, survival rate 93.47%, specific growth rate 1.22% and fish productivity of 625.76 g.

Genetic quality improvement can be done through breeding programs. The indicator of success in the selection is the improvement of the character of production. Larval production and growth of NIFI of F1generation red tilapia seeds in the selection and its control parents were evaluated in this study. The research was conducted at the Fish Breeding Research Center for four months. Spawning was carried out on freshwater ponds of cage with size of  1 x 1 m. Tilapia brood stock were stocked with male to female ratio of 1: 1. The larvae rearing were conducted in the cage with size 2x2x1 m3 and stocking density 125 m-2. Pellets with a protein content of 38-40% are given to ad libitum larvae three times a day for first month, and then feeding rate was given 15-20% daily from biomass. Seed production, growth, specific growth rate, and survival rate were observed. The results of the experiment show a difference between fish selected and control. Seed production of selection reached 540 ± 114 and controls   508 ± 142. The growth performance of selected red tilapia juvenile showed higher compared with the control. The mean length  of  selected population  reached 6.33 ± 0.43 cm , weight gain 6.60 ± 0.52 g, specific growth rate 7.33 ± 0% g days-1 and survival rate  81.50 ± 4.46% were respectively and the control population  5.76 ± 0.52 cm ; 4,90 ± 0.58 g; 4.50 ± 0.35% g days-1; and 74.85 ± 3.26%. These values indicate that the growth of red tilapia juvenile NIFI F1 generation was increased 25.76%.AbstrakSalah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas genetik yaitu melalui program pemuliaan. Per-baikan karakter reproduksi dan pertumbuhan dapat digunakan sebagai indikator keberhasilan seleksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi produksi larva dan pertumbuhan benih ikan nila merah NIFI F1 dari induk seleksi dan kontrol. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama empat bulan di Balai Riset Pemuliaan Ikan. Pemijahan dilakukan di kolam air tawar pada hapa 1 m x1 m.  Perbandingan induk ikan nila jantan dan betina 1:1. Larva yang sudah dipanen dimasukkan pada hapa pendederan ukuran 2x2x1 m3 dengan padat tebar 125 ekor m-2 . Selama pendederan , larva diberi pakan (protein 38-42%) secara ad libitum tiga kali sehari pada bulan pertama dan selanjutnya diberi pakan dua kali sehari 15-20% dari biomassa. Pakan yang diberikan selama pendederan mempunyai protein berkisar 38-42%. Parameter yang diamati meliputi produksi larva, pertumbuhan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, dan sintasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan produksi larva ikan nila merah seleksi yaitu 540±114 ekor dan kontrol 508±142 ekor. Performa pertumbuhan benih ikan nila merah seleksi menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi dibanding kontrol dengan nilai pertumbuhan panjang 6,33 ±0,43cm, pertumbuhan bobot 6,60±0,52 g, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 7,33±0% g hari-1 serta sintasan 81,50±4,46%, se-dangkan populasi kontrol masing-masing 5,76±0,52 cm; 4,90±0,58 g; 4,50±0,35% g hari-1; dan 74,85±3,26%. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan pertumbuhan sebesar 25,76% pada benih ikan nila merah NIFI F1.

<p>ABSTRACT</p><p>Stocking rate of milkfish, <em>Chanos chanos</em>, from 75 to 225 fish/m<sup>3 </sup> or from 1,33 to 3,98 kg/m<sup>3 </sup> did not affect the growth rate, survival rate, feeding efficiency, and final length and weight of fish, each at 2,32%/day, 81,8%, 63,8%, and 185,2 mm and 64,0 g respectively. In a quantitative field research, the objective of this work was to determine the best stocking density for tambatinga juveniles (Colossoma macropomum × Piaractus brachypomus) in a recirculation system during 50 days of cultivation. Tambatinga juveniles (0.72±0.02 g) were distributed in 0.08 m3 polyethylene boxes with densities of 5, 10 and 15 fish/box, with five replicates per treatment. During the experimental period, water quality, weight gain, apparent feed conversion, specific growth rate, carcass yield, proximate composition and final survival were evaluated. The water parameters remained stable and in the desired range for the species during the experimental period (temperature 25±1.52° C, pH 5.85±0.7 and dissolved oxygen 6.51±0.05 mg L-1). Statistical analyzes showed no significant difference for apparent feed conversion and survival rate. The lowest stocking density (5 fish/box) showed greater weight gain and specific growth rate, while the density of 10 fish/box showed high lipid deposition in the carcass. Aiming at greater weight gain and better specific growth rate, the results indicated that the density of 5 fish/box (0.08 m3), is the most suitable for juveniles of this species.

Bonylip barb  (Osteochilus vittatus Valenciennes, 1842) is a   native fish of Indonesia's inland waters which has become a cultivated fish commodity. However, production tends to decrease due to high feed costs. The alternative feed types need to be found to anticipate the problem. Lemna perpusilla Torr is one of macrophytes plant which potentially used as an alternative feed due to high protein content. This study aims to evaluate the growth performance of fish fed with a combination of Lemna and commercial feed. As much of each 14 fishes were rearing in a 45x45x40 cm3 aquarium and fed for 84 days or 12 weeks. There are 5 combinations of feed, i.e feed A (100% commercial feed), B (75% commercial feed + 25% Lemna), C (50% commercial feed + 50% Lemna), D (25% commercial feed + 75% Lemna), and E (100% Lemna). The fishes were fed by commercial feed as much as 3% of the total fish, while administering Lemna at 30% of body weight. Growth performances were measured i.e standard and total length, absolute growth, specific growth rate and survival rate. The results showed that fish was able to growth using combination of commercial feed and Lemna. Data analysis   was conducted descriptively that showed that fish fed by feed C (50% commercial feed + 50% Lemna) produced the highest length and weight, absolute growth and specific growth rate compared to other treatments. The highest survival rate was at fish fed by feed E (100% Lemna).  The use of Lemna as an alternative feed is expected to reduce dependence on commercial feed.

Permintaan pasar yang tinggi pada ikan manfish sangat sulit terpenuhi dikarenakan pertumbuhan ikan manfish yang lambat. Solusi untuk memperbaiki pertumbuhan ikan manfish yaitu mengetahui padat tebar yang baik untuk ikan manfish serta ditambah penerapan teknologi resirkulasi yang di harapkan pertumbuhan ikan menjadi lebih cepat. Berdasarkan permasalahan itu maka dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk melihat respon ikan terhadap pertumbuhan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Penelitian ini menggunakan 4 perlakuan (P1 (3 ekor/L dengan 25 liter air yaitu 75 ekor/wadah), P2 (6 ekor/L dengan 25 liter air yaitu 150 ekor/wadah), P3 (9 ekor/L dengan 25 liter air yaitu 225 ekor/wadah), dan P4 (12 ekor/L dengan 25 liter air yaitu 300 ekor/wadah) yang masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rerata SGR (specific growth rate) yang terbaik adalah pada pelakuan P1 dengan pelakuan 3 ekor/L dengan air 25 liter yaitu 75 ekor/wadah, dengan rerata SGR sebesar 5,12 %. Laju pertumbuhan panjang yang terbaik adalah pada pelakuan P1 dengan pelakuan 3 ekor/L dengan air 25 liter yaitu 75 ekor/wadah, dengan rerata laju pertumbuhan panjang sebesar 1,40 %. Kelangsungan hidup (survival rate) terbesar adalah pada perlakuan P1 dengan pelakuan 3 ekor/L dengan air 25 liter yaitu 75 ekor/wadah, dengan rerata kelangsungan hidup (survival rate) sebesar 86,22%. Secara statistik pada penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil berpengaruh nyata terdapat pertumbuhan dan kelulusan hidup.Kata kunci: ikan manfish; resirkulasi; petumbuhan; kelulusan hidup High market demand for manfish is challenging to fulfill due to the slow growth of manfish. The solution to improve the growth of manfish is knowing good stocking density for manfish and adding the application of recirculation technology, which is expected to accelerate fish growth. Based on these problems, this study was conducted to see the response of fish to growth. The method used in this study is a completely randomized design method. In this study, we were using four treatments (P0 (3 fish/L with 25 liters of water is 75 fish/aquarium), P1 (6 fish/L with 25 liters of water is 150 fish/aquarium), P2 (9 fish /L with 25 liters water which is 225 fish/aquarium), and P3 (12 fish/L) with 25 liters of water, i.e., 300 fish/aquarium), each of which is repeated three times. The results show that the best SGR (specific growth rate) was in the treatment P1 with the treatment of 3 fish/L with 25 liters of water, which is 75 fish/aquarium, with a mean SGR 5.12%. The best high growth rate was at P1 treatment with three fish/L treatment with 25 liters of water, which is 75 fish/aquarium, with a high growth rate 1.40%. The most significant survival rate was in treatment P1 with the treatment of 3 fish/L with 25 liters of water, which is 75 fish/aquarium, with a mean survival rate amounting 86.22%, statistically in this study getting influential results or there were growth and survival rate.Keywords: manfish; recirculation; growth; survival rate

Growth performance of Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (Silver carp) and Barbodes gonionotus (Sar puti) fingerlings were studied separately in aquaria by feeding cultured microalgae (Chlorella ellipsoidea, Scenedesmus obliquus and Spirulina platensis) in different combinations for a period of 21 days. Fertilizer factory effluent was used to grow these microalgae. Significantly (p<0.05) higher weight gain of H. molitrix (81.16%), was in the treatment T2 (Rearing by feeding 100% S. platensis) and the minimum percentage (- 4.29%) was obtained in the control (fed on fishmeal and mustered oil cake). Specific growth rate (SGR, %/day) of H. molitrix were determined - 0.21 to 2.84 for all the treatments which was significantly (p<0.05) higher in T2. Survival rate of H. molitrix was 25.90 to 77.80%. In the case of B. gonionotus, significantly (p<0.05) higher weight gain (149.10%) was observed in t2 (Rearing by feeding 100% S. platensis). The SGR (%/day) of B. gonionotus were ranged from 2.25 to 4.33 which was significantly (p<0.05) higher in t2 than all other treatment except control. Survival rate of B. gonionotus was ranged from 97.78% to 100%. The reared fingerlings were found nutritionally rich. Key words: Fingerlings; Microalgae; Growth performance; Specific growth rate. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of sustained swimming and dietary protein levels on growth and hematological responses of juvenile pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus). A completely randomized design was used in a 3x2 factorial arrangement, with three levels of dietary protein (24, 28, and 32% crude protein), two rearing conditions (sustained swimming or motionless water), and 15 replicates. Fish were subjected to sustained swimming at the velocity of two body lengths per second (2 BL s-1), for 45 days. The level of dietary protein and the swimming conditions affected the performance, growth, and hematological profile of pacu. Swimming conditions influenced nutritional factors, increasing daily weight gain, specific growth rate, number of erythrocytes, mean corpuscular volume, and mean corpuscular hemoglobin. Fish under sustained swimming and fed with 24% crude protein showed better growth performance, with higher specific growth rate (4.11±0.88) and higher daily weight gain (2.19±0.47 g per day). Sustained swimming can increase the productive performance of pacu and simultaneously reduce dietary protein levels.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari hibridisasi ikan nila Pandu F6 dengan nila Nilasa terhadap karakter reproduksinya dan performa benih yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini: perlakuan A (Pandu F6 ♀><Pandu F6 ♂), B (Nilasa ♀><Nilasa ♂), C (Pandu F6 ♀>< Nilasa ♂), dan D (Nilasa ♀><Pandu F6 ♂). Data yang diamati meliputi fekunditas, daya tetas telur, diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva TL, panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur, kelulushidupan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, konversi pakan dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai terbaik pada fekunditas sebesar 1191,67 ± 239,45 butir/200 g, daya tetas telur sebesar 80,93 ± 3,90%, kelulushidupan sebesar 81,55 ± 7,54%, laju pertumbuhan spesifik sebesar 7,26 ± 0,25, konversi pakan 0,54 ± 0,02 didapatkan pada perlakuan C, akan tetapi untuk diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva Kuning Telur, dan panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur tidak berbeda nyata. Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa hibridisasi (perlakuan C) memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap fekunditas, daya tetas telur, kelulushidupan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, dan konversi pakan tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva, dan panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur. Kata kunci: Hibridisasi, Ikan Nila, Karakter Reproduksi, Performa Benih  ABSTRACT This research aims to know the influence of hybridization tilapia fish Pandu F6 with nila Nilasa against the character of the reproduction and seed performance. The observed data covering fecundity, hatching rate, egg size, yolk sack larva length and weight, length and weight of the egg yolk off larvae, survival rate, specific growth rate, feed conversion rate, and water quality. The results showed the best value on the fecundity of 1191.67±239.45 eggs/200 g, Hatching rate 80.93 ± 3.90%, Survival rate of 81.55 ± 7.54%, specific growth rate of 7.26 ± 0.25, conversion fodder 0.54 ± 0.02 obtained at the treatment C, but for the diameter and weight of egg, larval length and weight TL, and the length and weight of the yolk egg off larvae for each treatment do not differ markedly. The results showed that hybridization (treatment C) gives a real influence (P < 0.05) of fecundity,hatching rate, survival rate but not with the egg size, larva weight and length, and the length and weight of larvae off yolk.
