Introduction: This publication is the product of research, carried out in the field of management in year 2018-19, which supports the work of a PhD in Business Management at Chandigarh University.  The purpose of this research is to explore the relation between Total Quality Management (TQM) constructs and productivity in the IT industry. This study has been conducted for organizations operating in the Tricity (Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali) and NCR (Noida, Gurgaon and Delhi) regions. Problem: The control of rising operational costs in any organization has become a challenge and is a major aspect in the sustainability of an organization. Implementation of TQM may reduce these costs by improving productivity in the software development process. Objective: The objective of the research is to explore if there any relationship exists between TQM and productivity in software development organization and whether TQM positively impacts productivity. Methodology: The study is based on a descriptive research design. A total of 206 respondents were selected using convenient sampling while 90 responded back on the survey. Exploratory factor Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression techniques were applied to obtain the results. Results: Out of 4 elements of TQM considered in this study, Customer Focus and Continuous improvement were found to be positively related to productivity while Total Management Commitment was found to not be related to productivity.  The hypothesis related to People Management was abandoned because it was highly correlated to other TQM elements. Conclusion: TQM positively impacts productivity in software development organizations. Originality: This study tried to create a causal mathematical model between TQM variables and productivity. Limitations: Sample size and TQM elements were limited based on availability of time and resources.

This research paper aims an analytical study on the software development organization insight into trending automation technologies and their implementation Software Engineering Management (SEM) processes. Software Project Management (SPM) is a scientific art for planning, controlling execution and monitoring. SPM approaches are more focusing towards the essential requirement for the success of software project development. It has been very challenging to manage software development using existing project management procedures driven by software development organizations and this is one of the areas of problem statement for this research. This paper discusses an analytical study for the requirements and consideration of BPR in SPM, explores to spot and emphasizes the important success factors for the execution of a BPR using benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in software development organization. BPR is organizational mechanism that improves ability to respond to challenges of qualitative result by change and improvement in software engineering processes, productivity, product quality and competitive advantages. AI will be the best approach and scope of automation SEM processes for software development organizations. This paper also represents a conceptual view of software engineering model shift for improvements in capability of project managers to handle agile thinking and problem solving for betterment of SPM using Artificial Intelligence.

Whatever its name, Free/Libre or Open Source Software (FLOSS), diffusion represents one of the main evolutions of the Information Technology (IT) industry in recent years. Operating System Linux, or Web server Apache (more than 60% market share on its market), database MySQL or PHP languages are some examples of broadlyused FLOSS programs. One of the most original characteristics of this movement is its collective, cooperative software development organization in which a growing number of firms is involved (some figures in Lakhani & Wolf (2005)). Of course, programs, because they are codified information, are quite easy to exchange, and make the cooperation easier than in other industries. But, as pointed out by Stallman (1998), if sharing pieces of software within firms was a dominant practice in the 1950’s, it declined in the 1970’s, and almost disappeared in the 1980’s, before regaining and booming today.

This study aims to determine the contribution of hand-eye coordination with long serviceability, the contribution of wrist flexion with long serviceability, contribution of balance with serviceability and contribution of hand-eye coordination, wrist flexion and balance to long service in badminton play in MAN 2 Kota students Makassar. The research method or method used in this study is a "descriptive" research method with regression techniques. Data for this study were collected through hand-eye coordination tests, wrist flexion, and balance tests. After all the assessment data have been collected, then to test the hypotheses proposed in this study, and the data is compiled and processed through SPSS version 21, the significant level is α = 0.05 (95%). The results obtained are significant contributions together in coordination. eye-hand, wrist flexion and balance to long service abilities in badminton games at MAN 2 Makassar City students.

El presente Artículo de Investigación propone un modelo orientado a las necesidades de calidad total en las organizaciones dedicadas al desarrollo de software conforme a la alineación de los procesos de desarrollo y gestión con los objetivos organizacionales; lo cual hace pertinente la formulación de un modelo de gestión de procesos de desarrollo basado en los principios y prácticas del enfoque ágil, orientado hacia la aplicación de buenas prácticas y procesos de mejora continua. El modelo planteado se denomina SUMM - “Modelo Unificado de Madurez de Scrum” y está orientado a la gestión de procesos ágiles de desarrollo de software enmarcados en las buenas prácticas de CMMI-DEV 1.3 y el marco de trabajo de SCRUM. SUMM consta de cinco niveles de madurez, de acuerdo a la representación por etapas de CMMI - DEV, estos niveles a su vez están compuestos de Metas, Objetivos, Prácticas e Indicadores que permitirán a la organización poder emplear un modelo de desarrollo ágil de calidad, enfocados en procesos de mejora continua.AbstractThis article of Research proposes a model oriented to the needs of total quality in organizations dedicated to software development according to the alignment of development and management processes with organizational objectives, which makes the formulation of relevant management model development process based on the principles and practices of agile approach towards the application of best practices and continuous improvement processes. The proposed model is called SUMM - "Unified Model Scrum Maturity" and is focused on process management software development agile framed in the best practices of CMMI-DEV 1.3 and SCRUM framework. SUMM consists of five maturity levels, according to the staged representation of CMMI - DEV, these levels in turn are composed of Goals, Objectives, Practices and indicators that enable the organization to employ an agile development model quality focused on continuous improvement processes.

Organizations are operating in an environment characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. In such an environment an organization can attain sustained competitive advantage only through innovation. Innovation performance is the only effective yardstick that differentiates an ordinary organization from a world class one. Knowledge management is the process of creation and application of knowledge required for the attainment of organizational objectives. Total quality management stresses on continuous improvement to achieve organizational effectiveness. Despite the popularity of knowledge management, total quality management and innovation performance, empirical studies about the relationship between these variables is scant especially in Indian context. Present study attempted to find out the collective impact of knowledge management and total quality management on innovation performance in Indian IT industry. Data were collected from 219 employees working in 15 large IT organizations in Kerala by using simple random sampling technique. Results established that knowledge management and total quality management individually as well as collectively impact innovation performance. The significant influence on innovation performance is more when knowledge management and total quality management were combined. Results sensitize managers to create a differentiated management architecture that supports both knowledge management and total quality management simultaneously to foster innovation.

Software security does not emerge fully formed by divine intervention in deserving software development organizations; it requires that developers have the required theoretical background and practical skills to enable them to write secure software, and that the software security activities are actually performed, not just documented procedures that sit gathering dust on a shelf. In this chapter, the authors present a survey instrument that can be used to investigate software security usage, competence, and training needs in agile organizations. They present results of using this instrument in two organizations. They find that regardless of cost or benefit, skill drives the kind of activities that are performed, and secure design may be the most important training need.
