THE USE OF DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING IN ANALYSIS OF BORON, CADMIUM IN THORIUM OXIDEWITHOUT CARRIER DISTILLATION EMISSION SPECTROGRAPH METHOD. The use of digital imageprocessing in direct determination elements of highly absorption cross-section of thermal neutron such as B andCd in nuclear fuel ThO2 without carrier distillation was described. Working and counter electrode should bemodified because volume of the sample was larger than the traditional one. Firstly, analysis of B and Cd in ThO2was recorded by X-ray film for thorax and then was proceeded by mini digital camera. All files in mini digitalcamera were transferred to computer and read by digital image processing of Matlab software. It was found thatall line spectra became Gaussian shape. Since couple of camera position and lightening system had not beendone successfully yet, therefore, quantitative analysis could not been done yet, meanwhile qualitative analysishad already been done by analysis spectra after image processing. It is easier to analysis B and Cd qualitativelyuse of image processing than densitometer instrument. Keywords : Thorium Oxide, Carrier Distillation, Image Processing, Digital Camera

The quality of farmed shrimps has several criteria, one of which is shrimp size. The shrimp selection was carried out by the contractor at the harvest time by grouping the shrimp based on their size. This study aims to apply digital image processing for shrimp clustering based on size using the connected component analysis (CCA) and density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) methods. Shrimp group images were taken with a digital camera at a light intensity of 1200-3200 lux. The clustering results were compared with clustering from direct observation by two experts, each of which obtained an accuracy of 79.81 % and 72.99 % so that the average accuracy of the method was 76.4 %.

Nondestructive evaluation of ceramic turbine components has to give special consideration to geometrical as well as to material requirements of these parts. Test procedures have to be able to detect all essential defects. As present X-ray penetration, especially the microfocus technique, is the most promising examination routine for special ceramics of complex shape. Actual developments discussed, include the use of image intersifiers for real time monitoring and utilization of digital image processing to increase defect detectability, to decrease costs and to fabricate ceramic turbine parts of higher reliability.
