After reviewing the literature on breath holding spells, it seemed desirable to determine whether any electroencephalographic abnormality is revealed by recordings during sleep in such cases. One hundred twenty-nine children between the ages of 7 months and 11½ years with breath holding spells were examined electroencephalographically while awake and during sleep. Seventy-seven of these children were boys and 52 were girls. All these children but one had normal electroencephalograms. One tracing taken during a breath holding spell is reproduced which shows slow wave but no seizure activity. The clinical diagnosis is discussed and it is concluded that the electroencephalogram in combination with the history and clinical observation is of value in the differential diagnosis between breath holding spells and convulsive disorders.

We refer a case of a canalicular adenoma of minor salivary gland, located at the submucosal region of the upper lip. The patient’s clinical state was thoroughly studied, along with the histopathological findings. Numerous histogenesis theories and the appropriate tumor treatment are mentioned, being always in accordance with the relative literature. Canalicular adenoma of minor salivary gland is a rare oral mucosa lesion. The differential diagnosis among many oral swellings is interesting. The surgical excision is the treatment of choice. The histological examination confirms the clinical diagnosis.

The clinical picture of lobular panniculitis associated with damage to the pancreas can vary widely, accompanied by damage to the joints and internal organs, which complicates the diagnosis of the disease. A clinical observation of a torpid course of lobular panniculitis with total damage to organs and systems is presented, which clearly illustrates the difficulties of differential diagnosis and therapy that arise in real therapeutic practice.

The article discusses the difficulties of differential diagnosis of early arthritis and inflammatory bowel diseases with a predominant clinical picture of extraintestinal manifestations, in particular, articular syndrome. The clinical observation demonstrates features of the course of such conditions, a long diagnostic search and a wide list of diseases included in differential diagnostics range.
