In the article there are data concerning the development of research activity in the field of reproductive tract infections fulfilled at the laboratory of microbiology, the D.O.Ott Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, for last one hundred years. The importance of microbiological investigations in diagnosing genital, perinatal and neonatal infections is underlined. Own data on diagnostics, epidemiology, clinical manifestations of listeriosis, toxoplasmosis, viral and bacterial infections are present in the article.

<p><strong>(<em>Adoption  Study of Potato Seed Free Virus of Granola</em> L. <em>Variety from Indonesian Vegetable Research Institute in Garut Regency, West Java</em>)</strong></p><p>Kontribusi Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran (Balitsa) sebagai lembaga penelitian pemerintah penghasil teknologi baru, termasuk varietas dalam meningkatkan pendapatan petani masih belum terdokumentasi dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat adopsi, pendapatan petani, dan tingkat pengembalian investasi (Return on Investment = ROI) pada penerapan benih kentang bebas virus varietas Granola L. dari Balitsa di Kabupaten Garut, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini merupakan evaluasi ex-post yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2014 di Desa Sirnajaya, Kecamatan Cisurupan, Kabupaten Garut, Jawa Barat. Lokasi tersebut dipilih secara purposive karena di daerah ini banyak petani yang mengadopsi benih kentang bebas virus varietas Granola L. dari Balitsa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Fokus Grup Diskusi (FGD) dan wawancara individual dengan kuesioner terstruktur. Total responden berjumlah 40 petani terdiri atas tujuh penangkar benih adopter, yaitu penangkar benih yang menghasilkan benih kentang bebas virus dari G0 (1 orang), G1 (1 orang), G2 (1 orang), G3 (3 orang), dan G4 (1 orang), 12 petani kentang konsumsi adopter, dan 21 petani nonadopter. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif, menggunakan gambar garis waktu, tabel, dan analisis biaya dan pendapatan usahatani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknologi benih kentang bebas virus varietas Granola L. dari Balitsa telah diintroduksi dan diadopsi petani di Desa Sirnajaya, Kecamatan Cisurupan, Garut sejak tahun 2008. Adopsi teknologi benih kentang bebas virus varietas Granola L. di Garut pada tahun 2013 dapat meningkatkan profit dari total adopter dengan nilai total sebesar 6,732 milyar rupiah. Sementara nilai ROI untuk biaya penelitian dan diseminasi teknologi benih kentang bebas virus varietas Granola L. untuk tahun 2013 adalah sebesar 918.000%. Artinya, untuk setiap Rp100,00 biaya penelitian dan diseminasi yang dikeluarkan Balitsa memberikan peningkatan profit kepada total petani adopter sebesar Rp918.000,00 atau peningkatan sebesar 9.180 kali lipat.</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong></p><p>Kentang; Varietas Granola L.; Tingkat adopsi; Profit; ROI</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>Contribution of Indonesian Vegetable Research Institute (Ivegri) as a public research institution which produces new technologies, including new varieties, on the improvement of farmers’ income are still not well documented. The research objective was to determine the level of adoption, farmer income and return on investment (ROI) on the application virus-free potato seed of Granola L. variety from Ivegri in Garut District, West Java. This ex-post evaluation research was conducted in June 2014 in Sirnajaya Village, Cisurupan Subdistrict, Garut District, West Java. The location was chosen purposively because in the area there were a lot of farmers who adopted virus free potato seed of Granola L. variety from Ivegri. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussion and an individual interview used structured questionnaire. The total respondents were 40 farmers consisted of 7 farmers seed adopters, they were farmer seeds that generated G0 free virus potato seed (1 person), G1 (1 person), G2 (1 person), G3 (3 persons) and G4 (1 person), 12 adopter farmers of potato consumption and 21 nonadopter farmers. Data were analysed using descriptive statistic with time line picture, table and farm budget analysis. The result of study showed that the technology of potato free virus seed of Granola L. Variety of Granola L. seed from Ivegri have been introduced as well as adopted by farmers in Garut total adopters’ profit as much as 6.732 billions rupiah. Meanwhile, the return on investment (ROI) of research and disseminaton of technology of potato free virus seed of Granola L. variety only in 2013 was 918.000%. It means each IDR 100 invested by Ivegri on research and dissemination of technology of potato free virus seed of Granola L. variety would increase the profit of total farmers’ adopters as IDR 918.000 or 9,180 times of the investment.</p>

Background The article reviews the history of the study, development and application of the method of transosseous osteosynthesis in the Middle Urals. G.A. Ilizarov first presented his device and the results of its use in fracture repair at a meeting of the Trauma and Orthopedic Scientific Society in Sverdlovsk in December 1952. The report was met with great interest. Prof. F.R. Bogdanov invited him to conduct research on bone regeneration during compression osteosynthesis at the Ural Research Institute for Trauma and Orthopaedics. The work initiated by G.A. Ilizarov and V.I. Stetsula gave rise to a large and longterm research on transosseous osteosynthesis at the Institute. The study focused on regeneration of bone, muscles, blood vessels and nerves, development and justification of compression-distraction osteosynthesis in fractures, limb shortening, nonunions, bone deformities, severe injuries to the pelvis, spine and spinal cord. Basic research was conducted to explore the role of the blood system and immune reactions involved in bone formation during limb lengthening. Material and methods Databases of scientific works and technical solutions registered with authorship certificates and patents of the USSR and the Russian Federation by fellow workers of the VOSKHITO, SNIITO, the Ural Research Institute for Trauma and Orthopaedics, the holdings of the Institute's scientific archive facility were used for the article. The search depth is 68 years. Results The Ural V.D. Chaklin Research Institute for Trauma and Orthopaedics has been studying and using the method of G.A. Ilizarov for many years and has made a significant contribution through theoretical rationale, development of new technologies of transosseous osteosynthesis, introduction and spread of the techniques over the vast territory of the Middle Urals and neighboring regions. Conclusion Despite the fact that in the recent years, transosseous osteosynthesis has to a certain extent been replaced in Russia by modern techniques with constructs of internal osteosynthesis, but there is no alternative to the method of G.A. Ilizarov in the treatment of gunshot wounds, open fractures, polytrauma, extensive bone defects, achondroplasia and many other disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

Some results of work, executed in Scientific Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology named after D.O.Ott of RAMS are submitted in the article. A regulation about pathological transformation of the myoma uterus was formulated. It was shown, that the changes in muscular, vascular and nervous systems of the uterus, normally developing and progressive in accordance with an increase of the tumours weight were pathological, biological inexpedient reaction of organ on occurrence into extraneous subject, which has dependence from hormones and possessing weight and scope. Pathological reactions, developed in myoma uteri are created the conditions for adverse current of pregnancy. Representations about morphological state of the uterus and the tumour during the pregnancy was detailed.

The article summarizes experience and achievements of Irkutsk Scientific Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (now – Irkutsk Scientific Center of Surgery and Traumatology) over a 70-year period. The development of new methods of diagnostics and treatment and organization of health care for patients with traumatological and orthopedic pathology are highly influenced by the Institute. The team of Irkutsk Scientific Center of Surgery and Trau-matology developed a new promising direction of combined tension-band osteosynthesis, substantiated organ-sparing endoprosthesis replacement, created new technologies of treatment of chronic osteomyelitis, developed concept of treat-ment of spinal trauma and spinal cord injuries, determined regularities of cross-system organization of physiological functions at the musculoskeletal system pathology, created original technologies and instruments for the treatment of musculoskeletal system traumas and disorders.Innovations created in ISCST include 330 patents. Irkutsk Scientific Center of Surgery and Traumatology was awarded Governor’s Award in Science and Technics for the development and introduction in clinical medicine of new diagnostic and treatment methods and of candidate medicines in 2012 and 2013.
